oh what the fresh hell. )
Dimitri?

[After all, the prodigy who had entered Garreg Mach is a hard person to mistake for.]
Ah - it's Lysithea, isn't it? At least it seems that I am not alone, or with such... peculiar company.
[The bird in his hair briefly pauses to just blink at her. Which reminds him...]
I apologize that you had to see me in such a state.
no subject
Yes, you're correct. But there's nothing to apologize for. This realm is strange even on a good day... but never like this.
... What is it that you remember last, Dimitri?

[Reaching up to his head, he tries to coax the bird stuck in his hair onto his hand instead.]
The new professor has just joined the school, along with Captain Jeralt. Have you heard of Byleth Eisner before, Lysithea?
no subject
I have. They're very impressive, and I'm sure they'll be a wonderful teacher.
Ah- the bird. Their kind likes to sit on people's heads. He isn't trying to bother you or anything.
no subject
or maybe you're just still short, lysithea]I... see. [Dimitri still tries to gently coax the bird out of his hair, just because, well, it's kind of a mess.] Do you know a lot about these creatures, Lysithea?

she's coming for your knees irl james)A bit. Not as much as some others- I've actually been here for quite some time now. The magic of this realm means that although I am here, it doesn't affect home, either. ... You will return safely to where you were, as if nothing changed at all.
( mostly, her goal is to comfort poor gabby at the moment, but it seems all three of them are Strugglin' at the moment. she's not the best with this sort of thing... )
I know it sounds strange. But I've come to accept that sometimes, things are just strange.

[Finally removing the bird from his hair so that it can settle on his shoulder, he glances down to the little cow.]
It sounds almost like a fairytale...
[Going into one realm, where the time moves differently compared to where one came...]
no subject
( in truth, she had abandoned things like fairy tales long ago- so the comparison never truly hit her until dimitri said something. )
There's so many things here that simply don't exist back home. It's a wonder to take in.
no subject
[Yes, going to another land, only for the worst to happen...]
[The cow is still sniffling. Dimitri tentatively offers his hand out to her, and there's a light clink of her hoof landing on the gauntlet.]
Is there a way to make this one happy...? She's been upset this entire time.
no subject
( does she want to be the one to bring up time shenanigans? No. absolutely not. )
It's probably very overwhelming for her...

[Dimitri holds his arms out for the little cow, as sincere as he's always been. Gabby sniffles, still teary eyed, but doesn't waste any time in toddling forward until she's clinging to his chest. Gently, scared he'll hurt her, Dimitri wraps his arms around her until he can lift her up.]
[There. Well. It looks like he has a cow now. Dimitri looks to Lysithea.]
I am going to take a guess that cows are not native to ruins, are they?
[Gwin peers around his head.]

( but at least gabby seems to be doing slightly better. hopefully when everything returns to normal, she'll get some treats to make up for the magic going haywire like this. )
There's a forest a few cities away, near a farm where many of these cows are raised. You'd be more likely to find them there than anywhere else. I haven't encountered anything too aggressive here, however. The creatures in this realm are benevolent, they simply enjoy sparring with others. ( that said, if a pokemon tried to pick a fight while the babies were clearly distraught, a skorupi might just have to poison something. ) Do you want to try leaving, for now? There's a city not too far from here, but I'm not sure I trust the magic that's going haywire to let anyone travel peacefully.

[Still... Gently, he balances Gabby in his arms and looks around.]
Even if our route is changed, I believe it would be better for us if we at least tried. From what I can tell, if we are to suddenly appear elsewhere, that will happen if we stay still or not. Better to at least make the attempt.
