How difficult was it? [ aki will start off with a single question, but, you better believe this is now Tea Time(tm) ]

There is definitely a lot of strategy involved. You should always make sure to be careful about type match-ups. But I also have a fairly strong team. We've been traveling around for a while already, and I started doing my gym challenge somewhat late compared to my arrival. But, if you have a good strategy, you could go in there with a lower level team and still do well.

[Romelle didn't mind. She had a lot of questions when she started, too, so she was glad to pay it forward in regards to the help she'd received.]

Type match ups? [ Aki looks at her room full of plants... so imagine your average quarantine apartment and then just add faces on everything. ]

How will grass types do? [ Thank Goodness Romelle does not mind curiosity because this girl is the incarnation of "mashed A through the tutorial" ]

[Romelle nodded and then glanced at the plants in the background.]

Hm. Plants don't generally do too well against flying types. Some that have dual typing might have ways to make up for grass being weak to flying, though. Flying can weak to fire, steel, rock, and electric.

[ Weirdly enough, those are all types that are Roughly Compatible with her yu-gi-oh cards. ]

I guess things from the earth wouldn't really work against them. You know of any grass types that can overcome this? [ She's interested in most pokemon, but plants reign supreme ofc! ]

Not at the moment, though that may change. I'm satisfied enough with the one that I have.

[ Challenging the gyms is definitely something Yuzu wants to do... with her current plans being to make it to Goldenrod then circle around back to Violet City, since according to the map you can either head to Ecruteak or Violet City from there. ]

I've been meaning to challenge that gym myself...

It is. It's mostly flying types. The leader's name is Faulkner.

My Bewear had a bit of a tough time, but, if you have an electric type or a rock type, you should be able to do really well.

[ Huh, none of those on Yuzu's team, unfortunately... but she does have a Staravia, soon to be a Staraptor, and aside from Diva (her Steeney) and Mozart (her Gallade), she doesn't have much in the way of type disadvantages. Still, electric and rock types... ]

I'll keep that in mind! Right now I'm on my way to Goldenrod, but I plan to circle back to Violet after that.

[ She was briefly there during the weird weekend and visited the department store, hence how she got a dawn stone for Mozart, but she could probably find some TM's there as well, right? She's heard about them but not really bought any yet, so... ]

Oh, that's perfect, actually, because you pick up some TMs for moves. I've been meaning to get some myself, and I think I'm going to head over there before I try the next gym so I can work on making a better team.

TM's, huh... I've been thinking of actually starting to buy those. Mozart and Diva are both weak to flying types, but if I could give one of them some kind of edge...

Oh, maybe we'll meet up at some point! Well, I mean... how are you planning to get to Goldenrod? I'm gonna be circling back by taking the path to Violet instead of the path to Ecruteak. [ She's spent a lot of time looking at the map... since she got lost in a cave and doesn't want to end up lost again in any situation. ]

A bit because I didn't really have a team made for fighting against flying types, but we still made it through because of their high levels.

[Behind her, Bewear grumbled a little. Flying types were rough for him.]

I understand completely. Still, even with the level disparity, that you could make it through is certainly clever. Going up against a situation that one is disadvantaged in requires a lot of quick thinking.

I'm not so certain that I could do so well, honestly.

I don't know. You might not be giving yourself enough credit. I'm not all that much for battle, either.

Perhaps. It is not something I have really ever tried...

[There's a reason why they needed the Professor for their tactics, and why he never could quite catch up to Claude.... Well, regardless.]
