If Caesar had lived to April he wouldn't have quite made it to the ides, now would he?
Do let us know what you think of the news once you've cracked the code, hm?
[Well...it's a vague sort of...possible clue? But if you look up some ciphers you should be able to take a poke at what sort of encrypted post just popped up on the network. And who knows, maybe the poster will reveal themselves to you! :B

jackabee and I'll let you know some more concrete clues.)]

Armin experiences a moment of confusion when the first garbled letters appear, but then there is a reference to codes and oh, everything becomes clear. Well, not instantly, but he knows what he has to do!
(that is to say, grab the code notes Dipper had given him, some empty paper and he is off to work!!)
((isn't he supposed to have actual work to do? Like gym leader work? Not important now))
This is so exciting!!]
Jane!
Are you opening a code-based gym?
[Private Text]
It is actually going to be based around puzzles and there may or may not be at least one simple code option involved in a puzzle.
I am not at liberty to reveal too many spoilers. :B
But I just got wind of when everything should be in order for the gym to open up, and the League said it might be prudent to make a fun announcement!
[Private Text]
I'll have to check my schedule for a time and place, but I know I am definitely challenging your gym when it is open.
Do you know yet what days you'll be in? Or will you be open every day?
[Private Text]
I am kind of operating this as my own private investigative agency, so actually doing some detective work is integral to the concept.
[Private Text]
Balancing a gym and a detective agency sounds like it'll be a lot of hard work
but I think if it's you, it'll work out.
Plus with so many different trainers visiting you, you'll always be tapped into the rumour mill.
Where is your gym being built? Kanto? Johto?
I'm assuming it's not on the islands.
I think I would've heard something about that.

HOURS LATER, BUT NOT MANY
Okay. Okay. That gives him the first half, but trying to shift the second half with the second clue is a no go. Although if he didn't make it all the way... no, fuck, he wasn't going to try to methodically shift the second half of the message though every number less than fifteen, that was insane.
Okay. No. Find a word you're probably sure of and see if that fits. 'NYY'... three letter word where the second and third letter are the same and they're about halfway across the alphabet from the first letter... probably 'ALL' so let's count the letters between L and Y and see if they're the same as the ones between A and N...

Aha! Well then, that certainly is one way to solve it, and I commend you for that, but others definitely will not be so lucky!
Nor will any future codes be so easily cracked, I assure you.
Re: [now it is Private Text]
*That's* when I should have plugged in the second half of the date. Ah well. So it goes. My partner would have probably still beat me in decoding it anyway, as he's the kind of annoying person who can shift letters around in his head and not have to keep referring back to his guide the way I do.
I had fun though. Thank you for it.
