[Gobo's still spending some time on the Sevii Islands, but today has brought a new Pokemon into his life, and though he doesn't know it, it's not exactly the "island living" sort.

The young man on the screen is holding a very tubby Cubchoo in one arm, and he giggles as it tries tasting some of his fuchsia hair, only to quickly decide no, that's not a tasty treat... Colorful though it may be.]

Caught this little fella this morning! He's been eating up everything he can get to, so I was wondering if anyone knows what, uh, a Cubchoo might like best? Nothing so far seems to get his appetite down!

Oh, he's so cute! I saw so many little bears this morning! They seem to be everywhere.

[Gobo grins and nods.]

Thanks! I saw some little brown bears with this guy, but they all ran off when I came outta my tent-- This one [He gives the Cubchoo in his arm a gentle shake.] was too interested in my breakfast to be scared off, though.

Well, isn't that a good thing? Now he's your friend!

It sure is a good thing! [He snickers as he goes on:] Assuming he doesn't eat all the food I've got for me and the rest of my team, that is.

Aww, the little guy looks like he's got a cold! Maybe he'd like some nice hot soup? Or maybe something heartier, like a stew, to fill him up more?

Uhhhh. [Gobo's eyes go just a little wide. See, he's been getting by on no-cook, minimal-prep meals for himself, and as for his Pokemon, well, they've been living mostly on berries and Pokemon chow.] That sounds like a pretty good idea, yeah, but I'm not much of a cook...

[ Rainer hums. She's not exactly great in the kitchen, either. She could bake, thanks to what her dad had taught her, but cooking more substantial meals wasn't her strong suit. ]

Mmm. Maybe you could take him to a restaurant? I know that's not really financially feasible in the long run, but... At least to get him something for now?

Hey, yeah, that's a good idea! I should be able to afford that long enough for me to learn how to cook, at least!

[He hopes so, anyway. Cooking struck him as so "not his thing" that he gave up on it pretty fast back home, but that's not a luxury he can afford now.]

Yeah! You'd better not take him anywhere that's too good, though... Or else you're going to set a high bar of expectations that your beginner cooking skills might not be able to deliver on.

That's true... I wouldn't want to end up letting the little fella down. I'll have to find the right kind of place, I guess.

Where are you staying these days? I can recommend some good eats if you're anywhere near Goldenrod.

I'm actually in the Sevii Islands. Although, I'm planning to get back to Johto soon.

[He remembers seeing Goldenrod on the map, though, and reading that it's a big city. He's heard about such places before, but never seen one, and he's quite curious about it.]

But you're staying in Goldenrod, eh? What's it like there?

Yeah, we've been here for a little over a month, now. Took some time off for that whole temple riddle thing, but now we're just sort of... chilling.

Goldenrod's nice! It's a bigger city than what I'm used too, but it never feels overwhelming, you know?

I kind of don't know, to be honest. My home is no city, but there's always so much going on. I love it, and it's a lot of fun, but it was overwhelming whenever I was trying to really focus on something serious.

That can be frustrating, I bet. But at least it's a good distraction?

Yeah, that's true! Well, most of the time it's good stuff. Parties and music, that kinda thing... I sure did get into some real messes, though.
