๐ a text post!
Hi, everyone. My name is Hitoka Yachi— I've been here a little over a month and still adjusting. Well, trying to fit in. And I'd like to get to know everyone better. My starter was a Chikorita and now he's become a pretty big and handsome Bayleef. I read this out loud to him because I'm pretty sure he wanted me to say something flashy about him just with the way he kept staring. Continuing: I started taking an interest in Fairy Types and Grass Types, but at the moment I have others that're just . . . Really cute. I hope that doesn't seem shallow.
I can't say battling was the first thing that came to mind when they said I was a Trainer (to be honest, it kind of terrifies me still), but I may have found my way around that by looking into strategy. I'm not exactly cut out for brawn (no offense to those who enjoy battling for battling! Anyone could probably snap me in fours . . . ๐จ even though I'm not the one fighting, it still feels like I am and I might get fried to coal if I'm caught in the crossfire, has anyone died from an Electric Type's shock?). Anyway, if anyone is on the Sevii Islands, I think I'd like to try out my first practice battle(s).
I may be here a while, but if you're elsewhere, I wouldn't mind setting up a meeting sometime when I start traveling again. I really would like to give this an all-around test drive before attempting the Gym Challenges. For Trainers: Do you have a favorite type? A themed team? How was your adjustment period to battling, if you had one?
For Breeders: What kind of Pokemon do you breed? Is there any reason for a specific choice, if you have specifics?
Thank you for your time reading this if you have!
[ and as a bonus: Yachi has taken a picture of three of her pokemon: a bayleef, who takes up most of the camera's space, a dedenne, who hardly takes up any space at all on one of the bayleef's neck seeds, and a mimikyu who desperately tries to make at least the ears of its little costume show up, only succeeding in getting its ghostly claws into the frame to hold up a picture of the three drawn on paper in a fairly cute style, with the words at the bottom written in english: thank you! ]

(I'm pretty sure I saw teacup Pokemon in Violet City, so I almost feel like I can never be too sure)

And as for your question, I don't know if I have a favorite type right now. I'm trying to find some strong looking ones. But only my Machop is really strong looking. The other two are a Shinx and Espurr, so they're like cats. Which is fine enough I guess.

So, you prefer strength and cats?
text
You don't have duels though? Or anything like that?
Well strong and cool for sure. As for cats, well I'm not really a cat person. I'm not against them either. I just seem to have acquired two of them.

Don't worry about fatalities. As far as I know, nobody really dies here.
Honestly, though, there are definitely resources if you wanna train. We got a training center up in Celadon City.
As for types, I go for balance. The more type variety, the more adaptable you'll be for a variety of situations. Guess if you want an easy starting point- can't go wrong with a good Steel type.

I thought it was almost too good to be true when they said fatal accidents are rare in this world— with creatures that can be dangerous, even, more dangerous than the ones I grew up with! I wonder why the rate is as low as they say . . . Are people here really that more careful?
Oh, and thank you for all these little pointers, I'm keeping them marked (including Celadon City!). What's your favorite Steel type?
no subject
Favorite Steel type... Honestly, kinda partial to Aegislash. It's tricky to use since you gotta balance its two forms, but if you time its King's Shield move just right, it can switch from massive defenses to an offensive powerhouse on a dime.

I dig their vibes.

but if they're talking normally to her . . . ]
Hi, there. In better conditions. What would their "vibes" be—?
no subject
Yeah I remember this number. It's cool, I figured it was an accident and nothing was actually wrong.
So, back to it, I guess it's a lot more chill? Lots of grass and psychic types feel more down to earth. Least the ones I deal with.

I did not set out to make a themed team, and yet I have ended up with one regardless amongst my many other companions. They are rather plain but alsdkjf
