Well! If they're going to tackle hug him, then what else can Dimitri do but lean down, scooping them up into a hug right back? He adjusts his grip on them, letting them sit in his arms while he surrenders their gift easily.

Dimitri still isn't sure if his gifts counts as that, but, well, he still tried. Hopefully that means enough.
Because when Chip unwraps the gift, they'll find a small... Well. It doesn't quite look like a knife, and being wooden doesn't really help that. Rather, the shape of its "blade" almost looks like a shovel, and it's not held like a traditional knife either. Rather, from the not-blade, it curves around more into a handle than a hilt, so that Chip can theoretically hold it, and the not-blade would point out directly from their fist. It's not particularly large or anything, and there's even a small sort of specially made sheath for it that could be strapped to a boot, or, you know, anything else.
