19th [Video Network Post]
I've been meaning to make a post about this for awhile, but I just got the time for it recently!
[Kazuki's sitting on his back porch, with a small harp in hand. The frame is quite sturdy still, but the strings are curled and broken. His Kricketune is sitting with him, very interested in the harp, and his Silvally is napping in the background. There's also a small Chikorita watching nearby... But Kazuki doesn't own any Chikorita, right?]
I got this from some Cursola in that temple in the ocean after having a jam session with them. It's a tiny harp! The frame is pretty good shape, but the strings are totally ruined. I can't really make out what they were made of either... But I'd like to get it to be able to play again.
I don't know a whole lot about stringed instruments, so I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction? I owe it to those Cursola for giving me such a nice gift!
[There's a low bellow in the background, and the Chikorita comes to attention, leaping off the porch to run off screen. Kazuki look up towards the source of the sound and smiles.]
Oh, and we've got a special guest right now!
[Kazuki reaches forward to turn the camera towards the direction the Chikorita ran to, to reveal a large Meganium lounging in his garden. It has a large scar going down its neck that looks fairly fresh, and one of the petals on its neck is badly torn. Three little Chikorita, including the one that was just on the porch, are playing around it.]
This mama and her babies arrived the other day! I think they were probably from Ilex Forest. I've seen Chikorita around there before, but never a Meganium! But I guess they have to come from somewhere, right? The strong ones are probably too smart to be seen by trainers.
[The Meganium makes a pleased sound, and the little babies come to attention, waving their head-leaves back and forth in sync.]
They're sooo cute, I hope they stick around for awhile!

What happened to her?
video;
I don't think it was people, because she hasn't had a problem with me being near her.
video;
I guess that must mean she's super strong.

[ the blond waves with one hand while a big magenta flower stands watch behind her. yachi remembers him and tonks— there's no way she (or anyone?) can forget tonks. what catches her eye is the meganium, as well as the small chikorita— she has a soft spot for what was her starter pokemon, who was now . . . oh, the big flower is shivering. with a bit more of a shift, a long green neck comes in, which follows the massive head of ume— once a bayleef, now a meganium himself! and he seems to be . . . so absolutely interested. ]
She's beautiful . . . [ there's something delicate to the females, unlike ume who had some more bulk where the mother had gentle curves. he ends um sticking his snout in the way, along with a big golden eye and a coo to call for his kind— but yachi tries her best to gently nudge in. ] Do you receive injured Pokemon—?
video
[The mama Meganium looks up in alert when she hears the call of the same species, and then tilts her head in confusion-- where was that coming from?]
Not injured, they always go to the Pokemon Center first-- but after they've been treated and get stable! Then they can get their strength up here and return to the wild when they're ready.
video
[ ah— he's being so pushy to get a better look now that the beauty is looking this way, so yachi holds a hand up to signal "one moment" before putting the gear down, flat on the ground. she sat by it while the camera would get 100% ume. he's making quite the show with his cooing and— dino-equivalent of flexing? even his flower looks more flashy, wow . . . yachi doesn't complain. he smells positively sweet, and it keeps her calm. plus, it's cute to watch. like birds. ]
That's beautiful work. Is she okay?
video
[The mama made a trilling, chirping noise in return, and turned her head just slightly. She was seasoned, and wouldn't fall for any old male. Still, the petals around her neck were fluffing up.]
video
[ ume was possibly (more than likely) way too young for her to begin with. a baby! a jock! a silly boy who doesn't know the exact level of charm to be throwing, and he throws far too much of it like some raging young adult seeing the queen of his life for the first time. his neck flexing has gone to a sheer amount of— dancing?! well, he's hopping and nearly braying at how tender and silky her petals were seeming from here despite the tear (for him, just for him!), and he's stepping all over the place in circles and— ]
U-ume, be careful—! [ his feet twist somewhere, and ungracefully, he falls in his own mess like a buffoon. ] That's not how you get someone's attention I think, but . . . !
[ oh, now he's just embarrassed. so embarrassed that he's hiding behind his petals. it's yachi's chance to pick the gear back up and focus on her instead of ume's whimpering. ]
He's never seen his own species before, much less a female. I don't think I have, either.
video
Aww, poor guy! I think he might've gotten rejected.
[Hey, Kazuki can relate. He know show much that sucks!]

[In fact, Doppio is pretty sure he's only seen Meganium in the hands of trainers, and even so, there aren't many of them. Hmm...]
Do you have any idea what happened to her? If it was another Pokémon that did that, I guess it must have been a big one...
video
I'm guessing it was another Pokemon, because she's not that wary of me. I think if it was done be a person, she wouldn't be cooperative, you know?

[In the background, Xylo the Kricketune is turning the old harp over very carefully in his claws, studying it. One of the baby Chikorita runs up to him to make play-feints like a dog trying to catch some attention. He was so into the harp that he fumbled the harp when the Chikorita touched him, and it fell to the ground with a dull twang.]
Oh-- be careful with that, Xylo!

[Kazuki picks it up so he can show it to the camera better. The frame is made of something like ivory or bone. It's so smooth it almost looks soft to the touch! Xylo comes into frame too, stroking his mustache with one claw thoughtfully.]
It's really beautiful. I'd love to hear how it sounds.
