Video
The video feed opens to a frame half obscured by a large blurry object. Probably a thumb. There's a chirping sound of some Pokemon or another in the background, followed by a muffled "let go of that" and some jostling of the vague, out of focus background. Then it shifts again, and now a face comes partly into view! Or, well, the bottom half of a somewhat rugged-looking face, with one side still obscured by the thumb.
"Supposed to talk through this thing?" The voice is... muffled. Apparently the hand holding the 'gear is also covering the mic input. "If someone's seeing th--"
At this point the video shifts again, the thumb pulling back a bit as well as the angle tilting up to show now the top half of the man's head, featuring somewhat messy dark hair and an eyepatch covering one eye. Oh, and hopefully you didn't turn the volume up to hear him, because the mic is no longer covered, causing the sound to abruptly jump back up to normal.
"--is, I'm looking for the nearest weapons dealer."
And once more, the view shifts, rather wildly this time as the man simply sets the 'gear down now that he's done with it. There's more chirping in the background, and then a flash of yellow and black before the feed finally and mercifully cuts out.

I've seen knives in some of the food shops...They said I can't have them though. [And Yachi had a panic attack at the small girl trying to reach for anything sharp and above her.] But my pokemon has knives for hands.
[So she couldn't have a knife, but she could have an animal that was more dangerous.]
Re: Video
Does Geddoe find a small child talking about knives odd? Nope, not at all. Is he still failing at keeping the video focused properly on his face? You better believe it.
"One of the monsters here, right?"
Re: Video
She!
"This one."
Look at those knife hands.
Re: Video
"Looks like it's not just the han--"
We interrupt this statement to bring you a Helioptile suddenly scrambling across Geddoe's arm to shove its lizardy face into the 'gear. HI FRIEND HI.

This is why Mikasa's main caretaker lived in fear.
That and the fact the pokemon imieditly readied her knives at the Helioptile. You wanna fucking go??
"Oh... Your's looks friendly.'

At that point Geddoe finally manages to grab hold of the excitable lizard and pry it away from the 'gear. As a bonus, thanks to all the jostling he's now holding it at a more proper angle for the camera, even if his face is still pretty off-center.
"Maybe a little too friendly..."
There's an offscreen squeak of protest at that.

Priorities. She'd not seen one so energetic... Unless Ume counted? But he was more fight-happy. Most of Mikasa's pokemon were- Well, they were vaguely murderous, nervous or just wanted to nap. The Helioptile was a little wiggly bundle of energy, so cute.
Look, she couldn't exactly hug her Pawniard. She had blades for ribs...

Is what he says, but that awkward angle he's holding the 'gear at means it's possible to catch a glimpse of the Helioptile scrambling up to and settling onto his shoulder. To which Geddoe... does nothing, actually. Go figure.
"Are most of them like yours?"
He's gathering from her reaction that she perhaps hasn't encountered many 'cute' ones.

"My friend had one like your's, but now it's really big."

He doesn't have much else to say to that point. The Helioptile, however, has definitely made itself comfortable on his shoulder, hunkered down closely to catch some of that body heat on this chilly day.
Video;
[Riz is very put out by the lack of weapons too. It does no good to his paranoid mind.]
Re: Video;
He's taking the information with a grain of salt, wanting to confirm or at least collaborate it before just taking a stranger's word... But he's not about to dismiss it out of hand, either.
He's also currently holding the 'gear sideways, but at least his thumb isn't covering half the image right now?
Video;
[Riz is never going to stop referring to this as a kidnapping.]
Re: Video;
"Pretty sloppy for a kidnapping."
Video;
[He counts on his fingers.]
We got taken against our wills, got stripped of our weaponry and abilities -- some of us even got stripped of our normal bodies -- and we can't go back home. Sloppy or not, that sounds like a kidnapping to me.
[And Riz would know! He's been kidnapped before!]
Re: Video;
Maybe not the weapons thing, which he does find annoying. But giving the people you kidnap the local equivalent of a replacement anyway? That strikes him as odd.
