Hello, my name is Shoto. I can speak with pokemon. By that I mean actually talk with them and I don't know entirely why, but there have been interesting conversations. Anyone who wishes for me to interpret anything that your pokemon are saying, please send me the audio and I will interpret it.

[A few minutes later:

A video with a more than amused Chimecho happily making herself a scarf on his neck, jingling loudly for attention Right Now. It's obvious she adores her trainer, even if it looks like she might be choking him.
And another video with his Luxray swatting him and growling at him for being overly dramatic and whining to his travel companions, expression being Totally Done with his trainer.]

Hikari and Iwa-chan have been like this since I got them, are they trying to kill me or what...

[Shoto waits patiently. The videos are recieved and just as easily as anything else, he sends back the text pretty quickly.]

Chimecho wants your undivided attention and it seems like your Luxray is just... Hm. The word cranky comes to mind. I don't think they're trying to kill you at all. If you give the Chimecho more attention, it might not be the best idea. You'll be reinforcing that action, unless you don't mind it, then give them attention. The swatting might just be a caretaker method, I got psychic pushed away by my meowstic when Mimikyu was born.

If he's cranky, then he's really living up to who he's named after... I'm starting to regret naming him after my grumpy best friend now.

At least Hikari isn't trying to strangle me... That wouldn't be a good thing. If she's just demanding my attention, I can ignore her until she stops. Just like any pet.

Sometimes those are the best sort of friends.

She's not a pet, they're mostly just as sentient as any other person. Treat them as equals and just be firm, tell her with actual words. Communicate and learn to talk to one another even without someone like me.

I guess that's true, they've all seemed a lot smarter than cats or dogs back home. Even smarter than some of the birds. So I guess... Treat them like equals who can understand a whole lot more than we'd think? Doesn't seem too hard.
