Alright, alright. I think I’ve spent enough time with the little creation to judge it fairly. Yet I would hate to bring my criticisms to the wrong department. So! So.. Whomever is responsible for this…

[Hythlodaeus lifts his Wooper into frame as it wriggles.]

Please contact me! I promise to be fair and kind in my feedback. I’ll be honest, it could use a little work. Yet pray do not be discouraged! It has a wonderful overall concept, a delightful face, very competent combat abilities… Yet it leaves me wanting.

How do we feel about forelimbs? I think I would feel better about it if it had some measure of stability. The thing loves to climb, though I have not personally witnessed the process— It does find itself perched on lower limbs rather often.

This is hardly a one man committee, however! I would hear your own input, no matter how arbitrary.

By the by, I cannot seem to find the direct line for this city’s bureau chief. Who oversees all of this?

[For those who have met Hythlodaeus already, this man will be immediately familiar! ...With a couple cosmetic changes here and there. This is a re-apped version of this character since they actually gave him a canon appearance.]

[This sounds like his friend and ersatz therapist, but something seems off. He's damned if he can put his finger on it.]

Did... something happen?

[And this man is not the least bit familiar! He presses a finger to his lips as he studies the other and squints. There is a mystery here, one that he would like to solve. There is not recognition in his expression, but he doesn't call this out right away.]

A great many things have happened, I may need you to be a bit more specific.

[He frowns.]

You seem... different. I suppose. [And then he remembers how Jack went home and came back before he'd come there in the first place and—

All hell. Was it that? No, no, don't jump to conclusions—at least not just yet.]

That might be because we've never met! Or perhaps we have, in a sense. I am endlessly curious to hear what you think is different, however. I have my theories, as elementary or rudimentary as they are.

[ Clearly, more people had met his shade. And he'd heard so much about it, even before coming here! ]

I mean, you're smaller than the Hythlodaeus I knew? If we're talking relative to the size of your average wooper, that is.

[This man, whoever he is, sounds... a little uncomfortable underneath the attempt to speak politely.]

I suppose you're his younger self?

[ The shade was large enough to make this guy think he was an adolescent? Or simply smaller and younger, yet still full grown like a lobster? Well that begged the question.]

...How big was this other fellow?

Ah, eight foot tall?

[Look, he's assuming that being a memory made his Hythlo relatively taller for whatever reason. And he assumes that Hythlodaeus not recognizing him means this is either his Hythlo before he met him or the original Hythlodaeus. And either way... it's a bit weird and uncomfortable. To say the least.]
