I was thinking today how it's been a while since I've posted anything like this. Or really talked to you guys without it being something like...a malfunction or an accident, so!

I wanted to ask, whether or not you've been here for a long time or just got here, do you have a favorite Pokemon?

I guess it's kindof predictable for me to say my starter is my favorite, but I do really like Eevee a lot. They're a very versatile Pokemon, a good choice for any trainer since they can become so many different things depending on your tastes.

I'd love to hear what everyone else's opinions are.

That sounds kindof like my Eevee. Though he's both a glutton AND an attention hog.

And he likes to just poke his nose into everything.

Yeah that sounds like my pair! They can never meet, they'd team up and we'd all be doomed.

I actually got my Pikachu when they climbed into my pack to eat my snacks.

I'm pretty sure we'd have a full blown take-over, at that point.

And DID they eat all your snacks?

Only some of them! And then they fell asleep.

And now they're stuck with me forever.

I'm lucky they're pretty lazy, unless it comes to food.

Well, at least you know the perfect incentive for them, right?

Calling them 'food motivated' would be an understatement!

But that's kind of what's great about having a lot of Pokemon, they all have such different personalities and strengths. Some of mine I don't even ever battle, they're just not into it.

Is it weird that I'm kindof glad to hear that? I have a few Pokemon who don't like battling too...and a couple who outright can't for one reason or another. I don't mind it that they can't of course, but I always wondered how common that sort of thing was, you know? Since most Pokemon battle on princepal.

[bent_the_world]

I don't think that's weird. Not every Pokemon likes to battle, they're all different. I learned the hard way that we shouldn't just expect every Pokemon to want to battle, even though most of them do.

[mightdoriya]

That's good for people who don't really like battling all that much too. I know most breeders tend to focus on the actual breeding aspect over training their Pokemon, specifically. And other people keep them strictly as companions.

[He doesn't want to say pets but, you know.]

I'll admit, the concept of battling was strange to me at first anyway. People sparring is one thing, but creatures doing it of their own accord is another.

Yeah! It seemed weird to me at first, too.
But now I spar WITH my Pokemon!

They make great training partners for that, too.

Same here! It was really fun that weekend that we got all of our powers back, too. I spent a whole day just sparring with my Lopunny, it was great.

Those weekends are the best! They happen a couple of times a year. I did the same thing - I have elemental powers, normally, so I had a lot of fun sparring with my elemental Pokemon!

I've only been around for one so far, and I'm already looking forward to the next. My powers revolve around augmented strength and speed, which works well with Fighting types. I do spar with my Pokemon during other times too, but it's definitely not quite the same as when I can go all out.

Hey that's pretty cool! I bet it does.

You're right about that, I can't spar with my elemental Pokemon unless it's one of those weekends!

So what kind of elemental powers DO you have? I'm curious.

[bent_the_world]

It's called bending! I guess the easiest way to explain it is I can control the four elements. Earth, water, fire, air.

That's probably why I have so many elemental pokemon in the first place.

[mightdoriya]

Oh wow...having multiple abilities like that is really rare where I'm from. One of my friends can control both fire and ice, but nothing close to all of the elements.

It's pretty rare where I come from, too. Like really rare. Most people can only control one element, but I'm a little bit different.

It's a long story.

I won't make you tell it to me here, but I would be really interested to hear about it sometime. If you were comfortable talking about it, that is.

It's okay, it's nothing bad or anything. It's just A Lot and can be confusing without a bunch of context.

I'm the Avatar of my generation, which probably means nothing to you on its own.

[mightdoriya]

Okay yeah, you're right...I've never heard of that term before. It has to mean something special, though...are you the best at bending compared to everyone else who can do it?

It's okay, it's something only my world has.

Sort of! I'm the only one who can bend all the elements, instead of just one.

[mightdoriya]

Oh! I see what you mean now. What determines who's going to be the next Avatar, exactly?

[bent_the_world]

The Avatar is just born as the Avatar.

I knew when I was like 4. Which is pretty rare, usually it takes longer to manifest.

[mightdoriya]

That's actually similar to how Quirks work, except they're not exclusive to just one person. It usually manifests around that age...and it's rarer for people to not have one than it is for someone to have any kind of Quirk at all.

That's fascinating though...it's always crazy to me how similar yet different some of our worlds can be.
