I was thinking today how it's been a while since I've posted anything like this. Or really talked to you guys without it being something like...a malfunction or an accident, so!

I wanted to ask, whether or not you've been here for a long time or just got here, do you have a favorite Pokemon?

I guess it's kindof predictable for me to say my starter is my favorite, but I do really like Eevee a lot. They're a very versatile Pokemon, a good choice for any trainer since they can become so many different things depending on your tastes.

I'd love to hear what everyone else's opinions are.

I get liking things traditional. My town looks like it's 150 years ago. But we have modern things too. I like celebrating the good things in all eras. I wonder if they feel like modernization would scare the Pokemon or crowd them out.

I mean, sure, an old look is fine. But at least you guys still have modern things, too. The place I'm talking about was a tower that only had ladders for getting from floor to floor. That's even worse than stairs!

Really, who refuses to install an elevator or escalator in a building with more than two floors when we already have to walk through mountain paths and caves and snow?

Oh, the Sprout Tower? I checked that out. They seemed to want to battle on every floor. I was going to cut out, but my Eevee went on ahead. She likes battling okay, but she's not obsessed with it like some Pokemon are. She likes exploring even more, and if that's how to get from Point A to Point B, she'll do it.

[He chuckles. In some ways, she's like a female Scotch in that regard. Radley's friend loves to explore too.]

I guess the monks really don't wanna modernize their place. I get the charm of it, though. It's nice seeing something the way it was from the beginning. But I'll agree it's not for the faint-hearted!

Yup, Sprout Tower. They really made you battle the whole way up? Man, I know battling is basically at the heart of everything in this place, but with monks it's still kinda surprising.

Anyway, I'm okay with being "faint-hearted." I'm not sure if it's better or worse than "lazy," but I'm not complaining.

You're right, that is kinda odd. Definitely different from monks back home!

[He chuckles.]

You really like modern amenities, huh?

[Not that he doesn't. But he enjoys taking in all the cultures of the place.]

I'd say I like convenience. I'm not a tech head who has to have all the latest whatever. If something old is going to make life easier, I'll go with the old way.

Work smarter, not harder, you know?

Okay, yeah, that's a pretty open-minded attitude. Most people are just flat-out one way or the other. I like to approach my business that way myself, bringing in the best of both worlds.

Your business, huh? What kind of business do you run?

I have more than one, actually! I run the town's diner and I operate a mine. I also work with the citizens on how they want the town to look. It resembles an Old West mining town, but we have electricity and plumbing and motorcycles.
