Who: Everybody!
Where: Riegfried and Soy's mansion
When: Saturday, 26th of February
Summary: Once upon a time, in a little online roleplaying game, there was a contest.
Riegfried and Soy's mansion is never not extravagantly decorated, but for one of their beloved contests, they've of course gone all out.
The Ballroom is the focal point of the day. Not only has a stage been built upon which the contests can impress everyone with their performances, the entire room has been given a bit of a Fairy Tale make-over.
A large, long table, practically groaning under the weight of little cakes and pastries, coffee and tea, and everything to fill a rumbling stomach stands at one end of the room, a merry sign proclaiming 'Happy unbirthday!!' planted in the largest cake in the centre. Spindly-legged tables with tall chairs surround the banquet table, giving everybody the chance to have their private little tea party (mad or otherwise), though do be careful before you pour some tea in your cup -- there might be a sugared little Dedenne 'sleeping' in your cup.
A string quartet sits at the ready to fill the room with light, dreamy music, and once the contest is over, expect the tables and stage to be swiftly cleared away so the ballroom can be used to dance in. Perhaps you can celebrate your victory on the dance floor, or drown your defeat in one of the many glasses of champagne that'll be whisked in by the waitstaff.
Unless you are underaged, of course, in which case you can enjoy a nice, sparkling glass of apple juice (non-poisonous).
Behind the scenes, Riegfried and Soy have made their own Sewing Atelier available for contestants to get dressed in, to wait for their turn on the stage, and of course, to do those highly necessary last minute repairs, because there is always something small that has to go wrong with these events, right?
And if that wasn't enough, for those who'd like to stretch their legs and get some fresh air, access to the Garden has been made available as well. The path has been cleared of snow, little twinkling lights decorating the trees and plants along it, and the entire walk has been decorated with many impressive ice sculptures -- a beautiful prince and princess dancing in the snow, a hooded girl taking a basket to grandma's place, a delicate little fairy granting a wish and many other beloved moments from fairy tales have been eternalised (well, as long as the weather is cold, at least) in ice.
Oh, and for those that have entered in these contests before, they might spot some familiar faces among the sculptures: A Bewear in a beautiful rose-adorned dress, an Umbreon and Milotic curled together at rest, a lovely little Ducklett surrounded by icy cocktails. Yes, that's right! If your Pokemon has ever won a medal from one of Riegfried and Soy's contests before, they'll be able to find themselves sculpted from ice.
Heck, Riegfried and Soy will even let you take the ice sculpture home with you if you want.
If you can... somehow carry it, that is.

Oh, and should you worry about things getting late and flying home in the dark, Riegfried and Soy are more than happy to open one of their many bedrooms to you! They are just a little... unique looking, is all.

Princess Allura | Voltron: Legendary Defender
A. See the Lights, See the Party, the Ball Gowns (Contest Prep)
[Honestly, even with how excited Allura and Coressa have been about contests since learning of them, all the training they’ve done, and Allura having some pageant experience back home with the show circuit Coran had set up for the Voltron Coalition… she still ends up with a case of stage jitters. This is her first contest, there are likely more seasoned competitors here and she’s not sure how her act will measure up, all the competitors’ costumes are so pretty and now she’s wondering whether her Pokémon’s outfits look too plain, and being set to go first really does not help. So in the midst of giving her Alolan Vulpix Coressa and her Togetic Ayrol one last groom, adjusting Coressa’s cape and Ayrol’s ribbons, and slipping into her own dress, you are mostly going to see her do some restrained pacing around the Atelier, fussing with the placement of her detached sleeves or her hair and makeup, muttering to herself. Shame that the martial drills she’d done earlier that day to calm down are already starting to wear off. Maybe a friendly word would be a better distraction?]
B. See You Make Your Way Through the Crowd (Feast)
[Okay, performance over, time to enjoy the rest of the show… and try not to worry so much about how awesome they are. Still, at least the banquet is amazing, and tea is always good but the Dedenne sugar sculptures make it even more adorable. … Until she pours and realizes that might be a bit morbid. ANYWAY, she’s content to not be the center of attention for the moment, fueling up on a slice of wintry quiche with Kanto and Johto flavors, one or two finger sandwiches, and just a few of the astounding array of desserts. She might still be a bit quiet, but company from friends or even just tablemates would be quite welcome.]
C. You’ll Be the Prince and I’ll Be the Princess (After-Party)
[However the results end up, Allura will be much more relaxed by now. The beautiful party and good company certainly help. While the princess can be found making the round and chatting to people, congratulating her fellow competitors especially, she is absolutely willing to go a few rounds on the dance floor and may even ask if the person she’s talking to seems inclined. Being a princess, she’s quite a good dance partner, and all the activity is a perfect outlet for the rest of her nervous energy.]
D. It’s a Love Story, Baby, Just Say “Yes” (Wildcard)
[[Got something in mind not listed in the prompts? Hit me up on Plurk or PM Allura’s journal!]]
A
Does it come from the Lilligant wearing a while veil and peeking at her from behind a table? That's a very strong possibility! She can't help it, that cape and those ribbons and that dress are so pretty...]
no subject
[Ah, that certainly gets the Pokémons' attention, Coressa giving a soft little bark. "Friend?" That draws Allura's attention as well, even as she adjust Coressa's cape.]
Oh! Hello there. [She remembers seeing one or two of these Pokémon around the spa in Cherrygrove City. Lilligant, if she remembers right. This one is quite pretty too, and the veil compliments her tall frame.]
no subject
Hello everyone! Are you all telling a story too? Your costumes are very lovely! The pretty lady's costume too!]
no subject
[Coressa barks back in kind. Thank you! Yes, we're also performing. Your veil looks very pretty too!
And Allura can't help a chuckle herself, relaxing just a smidge.]
Nice to meet you too. You're very pretty. Is your trainer around?

B.
Hi! You and your Pokemon were really great tonight.
[He holds out a hand to shake.]
I'm Radley.
no subject
[Ah. Allura gives him a nod and returns the handshake, firm but gentle.]
Thank you. My name is Allura, pleased to meet you, Radley. [She gestures to the two Pokémon at her side.] And these are Coressa and Ayrol.
[The Alolan Vulpix gives a calm but warm bark, while Ayrol's trill is a bit more chipper.]
no subject
Hi there!
[Eevee greets them too, happy for more friends.]
I kinda call my Eevee "Evie." I mean, that's actually a name where I'm from. It's spelled different, but I always think of it when I hear the species name Eevee.
no subject
[Oh hi! Coressa gives a soft greeting bark. Hello, friend!]
I see. I think that's a fine name for her. Coressa was a bit pickier with hers, but I think it suits her well.

She had been just getting some refreshments herself when she spots Allura, and she eagerly makes her way over. ]
Allura! I didn't know you were participating! You and your team were so great!
no subject
[Ah, good timing, Allura had just been helping herself to some of the popovers (served with a variety of condiments, but she's going for the strawberry butter), turning her head and smiling at the voice.]
Fluttershy! Thank you so much for coming. And I'm glad you enjoyed it, Coressa and Ayrol both worked very hard.
[Said Pokemon are at her side, and give Fluttershy warm greetings and thanks for the compliments. Thankfully neither of them have let stardom go to their heads.]

Thank you. Apparently these contests are held a few times a year, if you'd be interested in joining yourself.
[Fluttershy certainly takes good care of her Pokémon, after all.]

Re: B
Hi there.
[He looks like a tough motorcyclist, which he is. Adorned in black leather and wearing men's jewelry, he may or may not be intimidating for Fluttershy.]
no subject
O-Oh, um...h-hello.
[ She is a bit nervous; not just because his look is a little intimidating, but also because she just is naturally shy. ]

I'm Radley. This is Evie.

That was a wonderful story. You and your team were amazing.

[Ah, there she is! Allura had practiced with Romelle a few times in the past week, and of course she wanted to thank the fellow Altean for her help.]
Thank you, Romelle. We owe a good bit of that to you for your assistance. You look nice this evening.

[Yes... she was wearing the same dress to a second event. Gasp!]
You look amazing, though. Shadowmaru did a wonderful job putting that together for you.

Contest prep
It's absolutely Riz being his old Riz self.
You see, some people came here to participate in the contest. Some people came to watch and support their friends. Some might even have some just to have a party. Riz is none of these people. Riz is here for crime; the prevention of crime to be specific!
It's just-- from what he's heard of Team Rocket, they have a history of targeting bigger events. Now, they've never caused trouble during one of these contests before, but doesn't that just mean everybody's guards will be lax, making it the perfect target? They are in a mansion full of expensive shit. And there are plenty of Pokemon around that might make a Rocket's fingers itch.
So yeah, Riz has put himself on security detail and right now he's slinking through the dressing room, keeping an eye out for anyone with any motives that are not above board.
When he first spots Allura, Riz intends to just leave her be. She looks busy with her preparations (he doesn't want to disrupt them) and so far she's not given him any hint that she might be hiding a darker, criminal side. That is until spots the tension in her shoulders, the way her hands keep moving and twisting, tugging at fabric and hair alike -- signs of stress and tension that are all too familiar to him.
And listen, he's no good at the talking thing, but for a friend, he gotta try, right?]
You okay?
[Hopefully Allura won't be too startled by hearing a voice from one of the heaping racks of clothing, a pair of wide eyes just visible from between some fabric.]
no subject
Ah!
[Thankfully the startle is small and doesn't mess with Allura brushing the curls on the top of Coressa's head too much. Wait, is that...?]
Riz? What are you doing?
no subject
[He draws a little closer, close enough that he can actually pop out his head from between some very frilly fabric. He takes a moment to adjust his cap, though it is hard to look very professional when you are hiding in a clothes rack like a kid in a clothing store.]
I mean, look at this place. I don't think there is a single thing in this place that isn't fucking expensive. And everybody brought their best Pokemon too. [He gives a small shrug.] Seems like something Team Rocket would want to target, so I'm just keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.

He did, however, clean up fairly well in a suit, and even pulled his unruly hair back into a ponytail for the night.
He gave a tiny wave when Allura made eye-contact with him later on that night.]

[Of course they'd arrived together, but then Allura was ushered away to prepare for the contest and she hadn't been able to see Keith get ready. So seeing him dressed like that... oh. She blinks for a second before smiling and making her way over with a smile, hopefully the blush will be easy to hide behind the low lighting and the glittery makeup.]
