video; no one sets a trap like a rogue
[HEY SO, REMEMBER THAT GUY WHO FELL OUT OF A TREE TRYING TO CATCH A SPINARAK?
He's back. And he's holding up a large sheet of paper with what looks like a fairly functional trap on it, to be constructed from objects easily bought at one's local pokemart and hardware store.
(The other guy, the one who filmed him previously, is lurking in the background, his mouth a tight line.)]
So! I believe we have all seen the messages from the fellow in the cape, yes? My associate and I are in Cherrygrove and we have drawn up a plan to trap one of the creatures, but alas, we are both new to this world and our own magical creatures are weak in comparison to the birds--and my friend has been robbed of his powers and I myself have lost all my magical items and weapons. While we can trap it, I doubt we will be able to subdue it--and so it is that we are asking for aid!
Once it has been trapped, we intend to present it for the reward. Although they are magnificent creatures--indeed, I would want one of my own!--profit as always comes first.
[So... any takers? Given that the 25k reward is individual, this is quite frankly a 'the more the merrier' situation.]

Video
"I have a few that are good against flying types, but it'd take a few days for me to get there."
By which he means, he's a few days out from the nearest city with warp pads.
Re: Video
Re: Video
He's not saying they have to wait, but in his experience taking time to prepare tends to mean more than immediately racing for the goal.
Re: Video
Re: Video
"Have you fought a giant angry bird before?"
He wouldn't be surprised either way, there's doubtless plenty of worlds with monsters like that. Though, also...
"Besides, even if you trap it, you'll need enough power to fight it, or there's no point."
Re: Video
And yes, this is why I was looking for those with more powerful creatures to aid us.
I'm looking at the tags to this post and just imagining the nonsense this group would have... XD
If he might end up teaming up with some others who don't have strong enough Pokémon, at least he won't have to worry about telling them what (not) to do. Probably.
"If you're still looking for people by the time I reach the next city, let me know."
If only he had a Pokémon that knew Fly... He is keenly interested in that reward money, though.

And since Geddoe's not really the talkative type, he'll just leave it at that for now.

Yeah, sorry, I'm not loco enough to try this one. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you guys anyway. Evie's nowhere ready to take something like that on.
[Evie whimpers and hides against Radley. She hopes the Goldenrod Pokemon Center will be a safe place for them to keep hiding from the scary Pokemon.]

[It's very simple.]

video;
[...you mean your Pokemon will help, right.]
Nothing I haven't done before, honestly!
[You mean your Pokemon will help, right.]
Re: video;
[Oh, hubris.]

You said you were in Cherrygrove, correct? I should be able to use that teleportation device in the Pokemon Center to be there as soon as you need.
no subject
... I did not know that the Pokemon centers had teleportation circles, however! How splendid!

[Indeed, his character sheet has the 'Master Attuner' feat that lets him do it with way more items at once than other people.]
These circles, they are not often blocked, are they?
[He still remembers when his asshole brother cut off Gauntlegrym from Luskan during the siege/sack.]

[Shutting down aetherytes is a pain in the ass, it's not something you do lightly. G'rhyf figures more likely a natural disaster would be shutting things down than action from mankind, and there's more important things to be worrying about then.]

[Again, he still remembers Gromph cutting off the teleportation circles.]
Is there aught one needs to do to gain access to them?

From my own experience with the largest of the Braviary, you will have to construct a rather durable trap... They are immensely powerful as much as they are large, and it is a trial to force them to the earth.
One of my own even indicated to me that they are actually Psychic-types as well, although I do not know the full scope of their abilities. That may prove to be somewhat difficult to deal with.

Have you ever made traps to combat against psionic creatures?
no subject
[Kimmuriel counts, right?]

Then you certainly seem to have a good deal more experience then some others here, I must say. I suppose the league should consider itself fortunate to have someone with your kind of expertise on hand.
no subject
It should, shouldn't it? I wonder if there is an avenue for further profit there.
[Hmm...]

[Still, ah. Well, Dimitri supposes it was obvious from the start what kind of gentleman this one was. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, really, not when profit does ensure people live.]
Private types tend to normally have their own weaknesses that one can exploit well enough on their own... and they are not normally so aggressive.
Still, that is not to say it is an impossible idea to explore, and the future, as today clearly shows, can be unexpected.

[ Oh hey it's that guy who doesn't know anything about trees ]

[ She is an expert at jumping on things and being a general nuisance. ]

I will await you and the others with a happy heart.
