[ The feed turns on to show Fluttershy, looking a little panicked and a little out of breath as she crouches besides a tree. She takes a moment to look behind her quickly before turning back to the camera, and when she speaks her voice is more hushed than usual - which, for those who know how soft-spoken she already is, is rather impressive. ]

H-Hi...um...s-so about those...really big Braviary? For anyone else who can...t-talk with Pokemon, those Braviary don't really...listen. S-So probably, uh...don't try that, and just avoid them if you can?

[ There is a piercing screech behind her, causing Fluttershy to jump and drop her Pokegear. The screen is pointed up at the sky for only a moment before the camera shakes, with Fluttershy scrambling to pick up her device and get to her feet. Then she's running, and while most everything is a blur there's a shot of a rush of wind coming up behind her.

She gives a frightened cry before the feed cuts out. ]

[Varian knows how aggressive the Braviary are, that's the reason he's ducked into a cave for now. He just doesn't know why they're that way. He's been so invested in exploring the Ruins of Alph that he hasn't checked the gear since the night before Lance's alert message went out. Of course, now he's checking it to try and find out what's going on, and Fluttershy's mention of talking to Pokemon caught his attention.

But before he can ask about anything, really, the video feed ends like that. Even Varian, with his skewed priorities and endless curiosity, can drop the questions for now.]

[ There are a lot of tense minutes before Varian finally receives an answer, and when he does it's understandably not voiced. ]

[He may have gotten his priorities in order, but no, he didn't think of the sound over the Pokegear drawing the attacking Pokemon's attention.]

Is there anywhere you can hide nearby? Or maybe your Pokemon could fight it off?

[ As much as she believed in her Pokemon, she didn't want them getting hurt. And she knows that they wouldn't be a match against this Braviary. ]

Yeah, it's probably best to play it safe as far as battling goes. My Pokemon couldn't do anything to those guys, but I've seen some people who I guess must have been here longer mention having some luck.

Are there any buildings or caves you can see nearby? Because if you could distract the thing, you can make a break for it.

[It's the bit about her being able to talk to animals that catches his attention at first, because whose attention wouldn't it snag? But then she's running, the feed cuts out - ]

[All Dimitri can do, after his own encounter, is to send a hasty response.]

[ The text comes a few moments later, so likely she's found a place to hide again. ]

[Ah, so it is like this. Dimitri responds appropriately.]

Double back to Ilex Forest. they are too large to dive through the trees easily, so you will have more cover. There are also creatures there who can stun or put it to sleep through the use of their abilities, and who could help buy you time while you make your way to Goldenrod, if that is your destination.

For the most part. I found another place to hide until a friend was able to come get me, and we were able to get away.
