[The screen is black, but two muffled voices can be heard. It sounds like maybe an argument is going on.]

Do you not see the giant bird right outside?!

Honey, I can't keep you from your journey forever. You have to start your adventure-

I'm saying I can't go outside because there's a giant bird- HEY! STOP PUSHING ME!

[The screen remains black, everything goes silent for a few seconds. There's an awkward "uhhhh.... hi?" before a horrible, loud bird screech in the background. There's a girl's scream, and the sound of someone breathing hard as they run. The screeching continues, until it starts to fade...

... and then the Pokegear falls out, revealing the sky. Finally, a young Colombian girl's face comes into view, but she doesn't seem to notice to Pokegear. She's bent over and out of breath.]

First, I wake up in a strange house with a woman who's NOT MY MOTHER. THEN THERE'S GIANT BIRDS-! UGHHH WHAT IS THIS PLACE?!

[ That is a voice Luisa would recognize anywhere. But she did not expect to hear it here. ]

Mirabel!

[ And of course it’s now, so soon after that warning about the aggressive birds. ]

Just try to find a place to hide from them for now. I’m on my way!

[Oh good here family is here?! Is that a good thing?! She's absolutely not sure right now, but she's in too much of a sticky situation to really question that right now.]

I'm... not really sure where to hide!

[It's just rocks and trees around her.]

Just anywhere. Behind trees or rocks, just try to get out of its sight.

[ She’s already heading out, but there’s a problem. ]

…You just got here, right? You just left the town you woke up in with that woman?

It’s gonna take me a few days to get back there.

Yeah! Did you... wake up the same way?

[A few days?! She doesn't think she can wait in a tree for a few days!]

I-I think there were some buildings I passed by when I ran? I'll try to find someplace safe for a few days...

I did, yeah. I’ll try to explain things later.

[ Because a lot of talking might make the hiding thing difficult. ]

If you can get back to the town and stick around there for a while, you might be able to stay in one of the buildings there. That lady won’t let you back into the house, but try one of the other ones.

I’ll be there as soon as I can.

Okay. I'll head back to town and see which buildings are open.

I will. Don't worry.

[It's Mirabel. Luisa has every reason to worry. But she'll find a building in New Bark Town and wait out the bird apocalypse while waiting for her sister.]

[ She is worried, but mostly because Mirabel just got here. She probably hasn’t had a chance to really process any of this before facing these huge birds.

But anyway, once she has all her stuff ready, she sets back towards New Bark. She isn’t sure how much ground she can really cover, but she’ll try to do as much as she can until she gets to her sister. ]

[As Luisa is heading towards New Bark, Mirabel has made arrangements to travel by riding Pokemon. And boy, what riding Pokemon they are! Since Mirabel is used to riding horses, she ends up riding Fraldariend through the route.

All the while, she can't believe she's riding a unicorn?? Man, Luisa would love this...

If she can survive long enough to get to her.]

[Action, several hours later]

[ Luisa spends the better part of the day making her way back towards New Bark, keeping an eye out for Dimitri’s Pokemon or Mirabel.

So when she sees her sister riding a unicorn, she can’t help pausing a moment.

……wow. ]

Luisa!

[The journey had been safe for the most part -no giant birds so far. Mirabel gets down from her unicorn mount and dashes up to her sister to hug her.]

There you are! I know I should’ve told you about the horse but it all kind of happened so fast-

[neverbreaks]

[ Luisa runs the rest of the way to sweep her sister up into a hug. ]

It’s okay, Dimitri messaged me and told me what he was doing. I’m just glad you’re safe!

[ Looking over as the Galarian Ponyta steps up behind Mirabel, Luisa smiles. ]

And thank you for taking care of her too.

[Just hugs back harder!! Well, as hard as Mirabel can. Which isn't much.]

I'm glad he did. And I'm glad you're okay too! You didn't run into any trouble, did you?

Fraldariend has been really great. I didn't expect to meet you riding in on a unicorn.

[That seems more like Luisa's thing.]

[ Fraldariend gives a little toss of his mane at the thanks.

Luisa is just happy her sister is okay, and gives her an extra squeeze. But Mirabel might notice it's not quite up to Luisa's usual strength. ]

No, I'm okay. Luckily there didn't seem to be any of those big birds around here right now.

[ Still, she didn't want to linger for too long, just in case some did show up. So she steps back from the embrace, though keeps an arm around Mirabel's shoulders as she turns to Fraldariend. ]

I know you've been traveling a while. But do you think you're still okay to carry both of us the rest of the way to Cherrygrove?

[ Fraldariend taps a hoof in the ground with a nod of his head, looking eager to keep going. ]

[nonmagical]

[She does notice, but she's not going to comment on it right now. She's just glad to see her sister again.]

I think that's a "yes"?

[neverbreaks]

[ Fraldariend gives another confirmation, and Luisa nods. ]

Okay, thank you. [ Glancing around a bit, she then turns to Mirabel. ] Let's hurry. I don't want any of those things to show up.

Right.

[Mirabel hops back up on Fraldariend, and waits for her sister to join her.]

[ Luisa hops on behind Mirabel so that she's in back just in case something comes up from behind them. Then Fraldariend takes off down the rest of the route, and in a couple of hours they arrive back in Cherrygrove City where Luisa had been before. ]
