Prompt One: Arrival/Camp Site
Luckily they were given new clothes as well as a tent to sleep in. And a new Pokémon to get to know.
Iwaizumi sat by the fire, eyeing the Chimchar in front of him.]
It's gonna be hard not to just name you Kong... [The little guy actually seemed to like it, much to Iwaizumi's amusement.
When he isn't getting to know his new Pokémon and nursing a headache, he'll be found in front of the large board with jobs posted all over it, reading each one in turn.]
Go to the past, they said. Have a few laughs.
Why do I get the feeling we're being used for manual labour?
[He minded, but not much. He'd do the jobs if it meant an easier life.]
Prompt Two: Mission - Patrol [Night Time]
Now, he was no hunter. He hadn't the first clue on how to do this. He played volleyball for a living! So patrolling for danger wasn't something he was used to. He had no sense for it. But how hard could it be?
Just go out and clear the area, keep the wild Pokémon for causing a ruckus.
At least that's what Iwaizumi had intended.
Until he found a group of Shinx who looked like trouble. Three of them, to be precise. All of who turned their attention on his Chimchar. And himself]
The hell?!
[Iwaizumi dived out of the way and rolled as a bolt of lightning came straight at him! Since when did Pokémon fight people?]
This is not good... Dammit!
Oikawa to the rescue :p
So he sends out his Snover with a command to us Icy Wind on the Shinx as he jumps down from a not too high ledge, stumbling a bit on the landing, and running over next to Iwaizumi. His ankle has a small cut but he's otherwise unhurt.
At least one of the Shinx decided to focus on Snover entering the battle. Two is more of a threat than just one.]
Careful Iwa-chan! They're not like the ones we're used to! What'd you do to piss them off, anyway?
no subject
But he was immediately pissed off and yelled at him.]
Not a damn thing! They're instantly aggroed! They hate everyone equally now what the hell're you doing here?
[After his roll he'd launched himself back up to his feet and now darted back over to where Oikawa was. He grabbed him by the arm and yanked him out of the way of where the Pokémon were fighting, calling out to his Chimchar as he did to go in for the attack.]
no subject
Hey hey HEY I'm not dumb enough to get in their way!
[Timing though, as an electric attack hit inches from where Tooru was standing.]
Okay... Well thanks, I didn't see THAT one. But I was on my way back to camp and saw you in some trouble, and decided to help you since you were outnumbered.
no subject
[Because it turned out the pokemon in this time were all kind of assholes who would gang up on you! Back 'home' they had least had the decency to come at you one at a time.
Iwaizumi was realising that he was going to have to be more strategic in this world. And that was annoying. Going in hard and fast was a tried and tested method. Thinking things through could cost him the precious few seconds he would need to make a catch.
But it would work out. He just needed to adapt to a new way of battling, that was all.]
I wasn't outnumbered at first. I went for one and two others decided to join the fight.

[It's almost like those Braviary all over again, now that he thinks about that. Pretty scary, but at the same time these ones aren't as terrifying as the huge bird that wanted to make him his lunch. Thankfully.
Keeping an eye out for other movements, and making sure both his and Iwaizumi's Pokémon were keeping the Shinx occupied, he huffs at their situation.]
Y'know, it'd be easier if those locals would just let us into the village instead of refusing to help!
no subject
[Some of them were cute but cute and dangerous was still too much for him.
He hadn't taken his eyes off of Kong and Oikawa's Pokémon, calling out his own attacks to counter those of the Shinx that were hounding them.]
They're not going to. And I don't blame them. But we can't get back home soon enough.
Prompt Three: Mission - Firewood [Rain]
Iwaizumi took shelter under the nearest tree. It didn't do much, but it was better than getting completely drenched.]
Weather here's unpredictable... Was clear skies a minute ago.
[He leaned forward, peering up at the sky. A large drop of rain landed on his face and he shook his head, dropping some of the firewood so he could wipe at his cheek.]
Swear this worlds got it out for me.
no subject
So daunted by a mere couple drops of rain?
[He casts his gaze down at what all the fellow's up to.]
...I suppose if building a fire is your objective, that may impede it, yes.
no subject
And his first thought was that this guy would be killer on a volleyball court! It was on the tip of his tongue to just straight up ask how tall he was, but he kept that question in his back pocket for later.]
Firewood getting wet wouldn't help. Me getting wet would be annoying, too.
[He only had the one change of clothes so getting them wet would make the rest of the day pretty damn miserable.]
