Things Keldor is not doing yet: going on Careless Cara Liss' magical mystery tour back into the past. A shame he's not yet, really. Time travel is a doable thing [very rarely done, but doable] in Eternia, meaning he'd be one of the few who will take it well and might actually enjoy it.

Really, it'll be cool to experience when he does get snagged up, but, well... We've got other things we want to do first. Backdate-y things.



Things Keldor is currently doing before Hilarity Hits: trying to keep his recently-acquired Growlithe egg warm. This would be a whole lot easier if he had his magic, but he doesn't, which means making do. He's currently on Route 30, somewhere between Cherrygrove and Violet, and has got a fire going at the moment, where he has a bunch of stones encircling it to heat up. Once they're hot enough, they're placed around the egg using tongs [because it's that or third degree burns when you're magicless]. Gingko, watching all this, seems to have remembered that he's a bird, and is doing his best to help, but he's only half the size of the egg and can only warm so much of it up. Momiji the Sentret and Ganpi the Scatterbug are doing their best to assist, but those stones are hot, and, well. Bug pokemon and fire. You know how well the two go together, but A for effort on Ganpi's part.

Judging from the looks of things, and the fact he's been at this for a few days, it shouldn't be much longer before the egg hatches and everyone can say "hello".

[He's about to say something to that, but it's about this time that the new Growlithe is starting to realise that no one's paying attention to it, and is trying to get someone to notice it. By pawing at feet.

Keldor crouches down.]

Do not fret, young one. I have not forgotten you.

[Radley smiles at the cute puppy. His Pokemon want to play with it! Evie runs around dancing and warbling at her hopefully new friend.]

[Satisfied that it's not being ignored, the Growlithe accepts the invitation and engages in some play, much to Keldor's amusement.]

My Pokemon love to play, especially Evie and Isla. Evie wants to make friends with everyone.

[Oh dear. He forgot to name it in all the excitement.

He pulls out his gear.

Sure enough, it's been waiting patiently for Keldor to input a name. He does.]

Congratulations, [it says.] Your Growlithe is now named Fukiran.

Cool. Does that name have a special meaning on your world?

It is a flower found on the island that is the ancestral home of my people.

[crystalmaster]

Oh, that's neat. Is it red or orange?

[behindblueskin]

They can be many colours. Including red and orange.

[They're also kind of a Big Deal back in Anwat Gar.]

[crystalmaster]

That's really cool. Flowers with a lot of color varieties are fascinating to me.

You would perhaps enjoy Anwat Gar, then. There is much there that grows, including flowers.

Yeah, that sounds great! I love the scenery here, even though I don't like camping out. I'd like seeing other pretty places.

Camping does not make me feel particularly enthusiastic.

[Mostly for what the activity represents: his banishment from the palace and being forced to survive on his own in the Eternian wilds.]

Even if at present, there is little else to do aside from training and battling.

[Until he can find a place with four walls, anyways.]

Yeah, I'll never like it.

I stayed at the Pokemon Centers before I got my place. They're really nice.

The sooner I no longer need to sleep out in the open wild the better.

[Meaning he'll do what he can to get proper housing, even if it be modest lodgings.]

That's exactly how I felt about it. I worked at the Pokemon Centers until I had enough money for a place. The rich people who bring their Pokemon there can be really generous.

Oh yeah. Especially if you take extra time pampering and petting and talking to their Pokemon.

Meeting such requirements, I am certain, will not be a problem.

[Okay, being Gar as well as the least-favoured of Miro's sons aside, growing up in a palace does mean living a much more luxurious life than the average person will ever experience.

Compared to Randor, it wasn't quite as sumptuous, but compared to the commoners, it wasn't all that bad.]

You seem like somebody who knows how to treat Pokemon well, so I'm sure it'll work out for you.
