one more hisui catchall | spare him, arceus
Who: Sandalphon and you!
Where: Hisui
When: Throughout the event/July
Summary: tired angel is tired.
Rating: PG-13 at most, will note anything that comes up.
i. arrival/at camp
[ of course things had to be this way.
to ignore the fact that he felt lost without his morning coffee, he had a tea in hand as he made his way through the morning. hard, when tea barely gives the same energy that coffee does. at least he's managed to accustom himself to the local fashion, even if he missed his heels. it's weird, not having them after literal thousands of years of wearing them.at least now his true height is revealed.
even so, he tries to fill the void by training his rowlet, or keeping things tidy around the camp. because someone has to. ]
ii. coffee withdrawal
[ it's one thing to not have coffee. it was another thing to go through the withdrawal symptoms that he knew humans often went through. not only was it a difficult thing to deal with, it was an entirely new experience. it brings a whole new meaning to sandalphon's resting bitch face, as it was laced with more anger and irritation than it normally is. how does one handle such a painfully hard withdrawl?
by clearly trying to fill the void, of course.
he's either trying to enjoy some tea, trying to search for coffee trees in the obsidian fieldlands, or lying down on the ground, trying to concentrate on the clouds and failing. ]
iii. discovery in the fields (night)
[ the crimson mirelands was a place that sandalphon wanted to visit as soon as possible. lake valor was one of the natural beauties of this world-- even if he knew that the diamond clan was nearby, surely they wouldn't mind if he hung out there for the time being. he appreciated the calm that the lake brought him...
until he realized he had stayed out a little too late, and now the sun was setting. well. that's nice. he's sure he's missed dinner time, but that feels like a distant thought. the more pressing matters were to get back to base camp. however... ]
Where did my map go...?
iv. tend to the wounded (closed to corrin)
I'm fine, I promise... [ says the man who's clearly trying to hide a bruise on his arm. of course, he has the biggest grudge on the hippowdon that persisted in chasing him around and gave him the bruise in the first place. damn thing almost ran into the camp! once he gets his hands on-- ]
Ow. [ he moved his arm too fast. ]

Ow. [ he moved his arm too fast. ]
iv. LET ME LOVE YOU
Do you think it's broken? Or just bruised ...
(sandy voice) EW NO
Not broken-- just a really deep bruise. [ he sighs. ] Mirin saved me from worse injuries.
[ a chirp from his rowlet. she had tried her best, but sandalphon still got hurt. ]
(corrin voice) TOO BAD
[ he gently, absolutely gently, as slowly as he can, rotates Sandalphon's arm to take a closer look. ]
Wow. It looks really painful. [ was that a wince he heard? ] ... Sounds it too. Hmmm ...
[ Corrin glances around for their supplies, although he doesn't think pokémon medicine will work too effectively on it. rest and lack of physical activity will do the job. if only he had a bandage of some kind ... the prince scratches his head in slight frustration when he feels--
the bandana! that thing that he appeared in! that would suffice! he unfurls the white cloth from his head, and brings it down to show Sandy. ]
It's a bit beaten up ... [ like the rest of the clothing they have ] But it should keep. [ he gently wraps the bandana around Sandalphon's arm. ] Try not move it as much as possible. Being from war and all, I know a thing or two about the importance of reducing physical activity when you are injured.
[ he ties it with the softest, gentlest prettiest bow you could ever imagine. ]
... There. Feel okay?
(sandy voice) GROSS STOP
I was in a war too, a long time ago... [ he doesn't think he's brought up the fallen angels' rebellion to corrin before, but he doesn't want to talk about it regardless. war just happened. but he looks at the makeshift sling and the bow corrin places on it.
it makes him smile. ]
A lot better than it was before. Thank you.
no subject
Good. I should probably get you something to eat, too, huh? [ even if Sandy insists he can look after himself, Corrin won't be able to resist looking after him! ] It'll be hard for you to prepare things with your arm like that, so leave it to me!
no subject
on the topic of food however. stare. ]
Nothing too sweet. I don't like sweets all that much.

Enough so that when he spots Sandalphon laying back in the grass watching the clouds, presumably relaxing, he decides to approach, carrying his new Oshawott much like he used to carry his Togepi.
"Sandalphon...?"
no subject
Oh, now's a great time to test his ability to hold his attention to something. He didn't think the coffee withdrawal would hit him as hard as it has, but here he was.
no subject
Straight to the point, apparently Shrike is worried.
"You've been different from normal..."
no subject
Just as Shrike is straight to the point, Sandalphon is blunt.
no subject
Shrike does not yet understand the notions of 'addiction' and 'withdrawal'.

[ Finally, someone she recognizes. There have been a couple of familiar faces in this strange new land but, for the most part, Rose was still trying to find all her friends. While she wouldn't consider Sandalaphon close, he's at least a welcome sight. ]
You got one of those owl things, huh? I got a worm. But, like- A different worm than usual. Meet Slinky. [ On her shoulder, there rests a Wurmple that gives a little wiggle in greeting. ]
no subject
Owl, yes. I've chosen to name it Mirin. [ which causes said rowlet to wave politely. he eyes the wurmple, nodding at it. ] It's an interesting pokemon, indeed. I don't think I've seen it back in Johto.
no subject
Mirin... That's cute. [ It also makes her think of home, honestly. She didn't think she would miss it, really, but more and more she longs for home. ] But yeah, right? He's a cool little dude. Hoping he can make the trek back with me.
no subject
He most likely will. It depends on everything falling into place, I'd assume.
no subject
I don't know the original so I can't say but, y'know, I'll take your word for it. Either way- I hope you're right.
I'm a bit skeptical about all of this, I admit.

thankfully, sandalphon might recognize this as jinx's new friend. )
no subject
You're Jinx's pokemon, aren't you? [ it fit her aesthetic, was the first thought when he saw her with the new pokemon. arguably, you could say the same about his rowlet and him. ] What are you doing all the way out here?
no subject
no subject
he blinks at the 'follow me' motion, but gives a nod of his head in response. at least it was jinx's pokemon than anyone's else's. he blows a quick whistle, making both a rowlet and a murkrow come out of the nearby tree and perch themselves on sandalphon's head and shoulder. ]
➤ mission: clefairy tunes! ♫♪
after walking hand in hand through the fields of the Coronet Highlands with Sandalphon, Corrin sits himself down in a flat patch of grass, taking some stationery tools and paper from his bag and begins to sketch out some hand drawn sheet music bars on the pages. ]
This is so exciting...! Let's try listen if we can hear any singing Clefairy while I get this manuscript drawn.
no subject
[ it was honestly so strange that people liked it when he sang-- it was an off handed hobby he took up when he was confined to the garden sanctuary of his younger years. the angel thought he was mediocre at best (then again, he ponders, he wouldn't be having so much attention to his singing if it wasn't good to an extent). but corrin seemed so enthusiastic about this mission and about helping the man hear an old tune, he couldn't exactly say no.
he sighs mentally. he might as well be wrapped around corrin's finger at this point. the angel keeps an eye and ear out for the singing clefairy as mirin the rowlet settles in for a long wait in between sandalphon's legs. ]
Don't Clefairy come out on full moons, regardless..? [ ... was tonight a full moon? sandalphon doesn't remember. ]
no subject
Mmm! They do! I double checked that we would be out here during one so that we would guarantee some singing. See? [ he points with his pencil up to the sky. it's still twilight but - it's there. ] Full moon!
[ the dragon makes a triumphant sound once he finishes the last of his tedious music manuscript making. ]
Okay. I finished my manuscripts of where I am going to write the music. Shall we take a stroll deeper into the meadow, now? We best be quiet, though. They could frighten easy if we're spotted.
no subject
Sounds good. Let's make it quick too. I'd rather not miss any bit of their performance.
[ was it out of desire to watch the clefairy or a need to finish the mission? who knows. ]
no subject
Wow.
[ for now, he just listens, paying attention to the melody. as he watches the pokémon perform, he grips onto Sandalphon's hand just that tiny bit tighter. there's something very romantic about this experience. ]
