First Lost Friend | Radley, OTA

((I got permission from Levi's player to post this. I could have added it to the other Hisuian post for Radley, but I kind of felt like it needed its own post. Radley would be devastated for this to happen at any time, but it's even harder in Hisui, when it's harder to know what happened since the PokeGears aren't working and most Pokemon are back in Johto.))

Summary: Radley has never lost a friend in Pokemon land before. He wasn't expecting his first time would be here in Hisui.

[At first Radley isn't too worried when he doesn't see Levi around. He's probably out gathering or scouting. But when Radley realizes Levi's Hisuian starter Pokemon is here, he starts to worry. He roams the camp and then all the surrounding area, calling for him while Lily accompanies him and calls as well.

He's sick with worry. Where could he be? Is he hurt? Did something attack him?

It doesn't occur to him for some time that maybe Levi has been sent back to his own world. For some reason, he didn't think that would happen here, while they're trapped in the past. But when he finally begins to think about this possibility, he grips the nearest tree and then sinks to his knees. Maybe he'll never know for sure. Does anyone ever know for sure? He seems to remember being told about some indications of it back in Johto when he first came back in February, but here ... can they really know? And no matter where it happened, there's no closure. He talked to Levi while they were here in Hisui, thinking they'd talk again, and now ...

He hadn't really thought too hard about how it would feel to lose someone in this world. He hadn't wanted to think about it. If Levi is gone, this is the first time he's lost a friend here. Those who have been here longer have no doubt already gone through it multiple times, but it's a new crushing blow to him. The only comforts he really has in Hisui are Lily and knowing everyone is all together. He already wondered if Lily would be taken from him, and now there's no guarantee of everyone staying together lasting either.

Will Levi be happy going home? Radley doubts he'll ever see him again. And ...

He looks sick as something else dawns on him. If they all get home to Johto, and everyone's reuniting, and then Levi's poor Pokemon realize he isn't coming ...

Radley picks up Lily and cries.

He has to get back to his. The thought of Evie and Cosmo and all the others seeing reunions and Radley isn't there is too crushing to think about. He has to get home to them....

He draws a shaking breath and gets up. Will Levi's other friends have figured out he might have been sent back? Maybe he needs to check on them....

He holds Lily close as he heads back towards the camp.]

Great. We can keep in touch on the Network when it's working again.

Yes. When it is working again.

[Also when he figures that part out. See, it's not like he's never seen technology before, or communication devices, back in Eternia. They have such things after all. It's just that it's kind of like watching your grandmother trying to figure out a smart phone, given that he's still got a few things to learn yet when it comes to pokegears.]

Where were you on your journey before this happened?

Before? As in, "Where was I before I came to this world?". Or do you mean "After I came to this world?".

Yeah, in Johto, before we ended up in this place.

[behindblueskin]

Near to Violet City when we all were caught up in the mayhem.

[crystalmaster]

Then you were close to where the path divides in two ahead of Goldenrod City, where I am. Going South goes to either the Ruins of Alph or Azalea. There's a big cave in the way before the town. Then after Azalea, there's a big forest. Going North goes to Ecruteak and then down to Goldenrod. I still haven't tried the Southern route. I'll probably only go to Azalea when my Rookidee evolves enough to travel on.

I had been told, before being sent back into the past, that air travel was possible with flying pokemon.

[Saying that mostly to have something to say.]

Ruins? I am now most keen to inspect them.

[Visiting a ruin the last time was profitable for him—he left with a very valuable and very potent magical object; namely, the havoc staff [that he hopes hasn't become irretrievably lost on his way here]. Another visit to another ruin should potentially prove equally fruitful.]

Yeah, that's the only way I want to travel around here, I think. Or on my bicycle. I wish motorcycles were an option.

[He smiles a bit.]

Well, I hope you'll find them interesting.

I most certainly shall find them so...

[He could also find himself ending up running for his life, being chased by angry pokemon, but we'll find that out when he gets there.

But now he wants to know about something else.]

"Bicycle"? "Motorcycle"? What are those?

[Eye squint. Advanced vehicles he knows about. Simple things like bikes he does not.]

Um ... well, a bicycle is a vehicle with two wheels that you can pedal around. A motorcycle is like that, but it has a motor to power it instead of pedals.

Ah. Another method of transport.

[Does he want one? I don't know. Should we get him one just to be massively entertained by him attempting to ride it? Probably.]

LOL. Radley can teach him!

[crystalmaster]

Yeah. Bicycles are the closest thing they have here to motorcycles, it looks like, so I got one as soon as I got to Goldenrod City where they sell them.

They are easy to use?

[Once you've learned how, they are. I just hope your princely pride can handle the inevitable dings to it while you learn how to balance on 30lbs of metal and rubber.]

Well, it depends. They can be hard to balance on at first, if you're not used to it.

Really...

[Sounds like something that will provide people with plenty of things to laugh at.]

I will ... consider it when we return to our proper time.

[crystalmaster]

[Radley won't laugh, though.]

If training my pokemon to serve as steeds does not bear fruit then I will.

[Radley taught his friends to ride, and has a scar from his own early attempts.]

Well, good luck with that! I know Growlithes are supposed to get huge.

I have seen this, yes. They are very impressive.

[Which is why he was so eager to procure Fukiran, and why he's currently trying to catch one of the native Growlithes, seeing as training Fukiran isn't a doable at this time.]

[crystalmaster]

They sure are. I wonder if Harley will have evolved while I'm not there....

[He sighs, sadly. He had wanted to be there for important milestones like that.]

What does it evolve into?

[Many things, Keldor. Many things.]

Harley is my Rookidee. She'll evolve into Corvisquire and then Corviknight. I got her for travel. She's really motherly and likes taking charge of the household.

Are they large for a pokemon?

[He's not exactly on the small side, and if he needs air transportation, it's gotta be something large enough to carry him.]
