Summary: Draco requests a truce and they agree to meet in person to discuss more.

After everything that has happened, Draco decided to approach Harry and request a truce. He knew they had a lot to work on considering the rift between the three of them. But they were the only ones here in this world, and it was best to put aside differences for the time being. Plus, so much has changed and Draco really needed to clear the air on a few things. He knew this was going to take time as he caused a lot of damage, but he hoped this would be a good starting point.

He waited at the Pokemon Center with Growlithe at his side. The Pokemon seemed to approve of what he was doing and didn't appear to be annoyed or embarrassed as the other one had. If he was going to survive here he needed to step up his game a bit.

Despite everything he and Malfoy had been through back in their world, Harry has come to realize that Malfoy wasn’t as horrible as he initially thought as years moved along, plus he has saved him multiple times in their world and during their Hisui (mis)adventure from an angry Shinx.

So when Malfoy did reached out to him privately on the network and asked him to meet him up at the Pokémon Center, Harry didn’t hesitate one bit and agree to talk to him more personally and less through the PokéGear. With his current timeline, he has nothing against him and he is more than willing to come into a truce with Malfoy than Hermione at the moment.

He has Lily (the Dartrix) with him as he left Rowan, Violet, and Godric on their own at the play area before heading off to meet Malfoy. Lily understandably didn’t have any good first impressions of Malfoy during the Shinx incident but Harry did his best to tell her not to peck on the blonde when they see him, so the owl Pokémon agrees to behave herself.

The Growlithe wags its tail at Harry when he saw the other approach, alerting Draco that Harry arrived. Draco gave a nod in greeting.

"Thanks for meeting me and hearing me out," Draco stated. "I know I owe a lot to you, so hopefully I can repay that dept over time."

“You’re welcome anytime,” Harry courteously replies in return with an internal sigh of relief that they are no longer hostile towards each other anymore.

Lily meanwhile is trying to not peck at Malfoy as promised to her Trainer, after all, she did helped Harry out in keeping that Shinx away from harming Malfoy.

The Growlithe has taken an interest in watching the Lily, but made no move to harm it. As long as Lily behaved, he was content to remain by his master's side.

Draco stuffed his hands in his pants pockets, finding the moment a bit awkward. "I've realized that over time that my father that I worshiped wasn't someone I exactly wanted to be. Alot of his ways and the ways he pushes for are old and out dated. And trying to stick to the 'old way' won't help, but harm us.

Only being a Malfoy there's an image to it that one has to follow. If I didn't follow that image I would have ben disgraced and no longer acknowledged as part of the family. Even though no one sees it my folks do care about each other and will do what it takes to keep the family safe. We don't openly show it.

I think to a point that you probably understand best what it's like to have this type of image and expectation you're forced to follow whether you want to or not."

Draco stated as he carefully tried to phrase things in way that would emphasize and what he thought Harry would understand.

Harry listens patiently as Malfoy explains everything as if he is a guidance counselor assigned to him. It is not hard to feel sorry for him once he learns about how much pressure he and even his family have to deal with back at home and if he didn’t follow said reputation and image, he would have been in a very dire situation and, worst of all, being kicked out of his own family. And he thought his family life with his maternal relatives was very terrible.

It took him a while to make some good word choices as he didn’t want to act as if he didn’t pay attention but Harry did eventually got something to say and it is very much leaning to supportive than anything else.

“Oh gee, I’m very sorry that you have to go through all of that for a long time,” he admits to the blond Slytherin as he tries not to shed a tear too much, “If only I had known of all the pressures you and your family have to put up with much earlier. But now I can see how rough it was for you to live up to the image and reputation in our world.”

"I'm not saying this as an excuse for my behavior and what my family has done. I'm glad you at least understand now. " Draco stated and took out his hand as if to wave the apology away. He didn't seem annoyed, but in the grand scheme of things it felt almost weak. Yet, Harry attempting to see things was a start so he was grateful for it.

"But it was a starting point and why we were the way we were. I was a prat and very proud of my heritage and who my family was. But it only took me when the war started to realize where my family stood and what my father was pushing for. How could I go and ask for help or trust someone enough to tell them my situation then?

I couldn't simply change my behavior, but I tried to find ways subtle and not your conventional ways of helping. Even if it wasn't much. I knew how much you guys were listening to me and tailing my every move. So I tried to leave clues when I could or be a distraction of sorts.

When my father failed, we lost our house and eveyrthing to Him. I've had to watch Him torture my father and those who failed Him. We were essentially prisoners at this point. We couldn't exactly go to anyone for help at this point."

Harry keeps on listening to Malfoy’s explanation more, quietly and patiently learning more about the more rougher parts following Lucius’ failure. Granted he didn’t know most of this before but now he is starting to understand where he is coming from and why crossing the Dark Lord from his point of view could mean tons of trouble.

All of these terrible things (including being a prisoner in one’s home) that the Malfoy family had to face under the Dark Lord’s hand would have made anyone feel sick in the gut, but as someone who has seen many rough things in life, he is clearly taking notes and pays attention to every word he said. He is hoping that Hermione would one day have the same set of eyes he is using to understand Malfoy’s mindset at the time.

“Oh Merlin, that is really terrifying,” Harry could feel a figurative lump on his throat as he speaks.

Lily is also paying attention to the blond. So far, she has not felt the temptation to peck on him and Harry hopes that she would not dare to do it at any time now.

"I think at one point He had promised a lot and knew how to get people like my father to follow him. But while he was quick to reward and promise, he was quick to punish ruthlessly to those who failed him the slightest way. Once you serve him....you can't esscape him unless you're dead. I think my father realized as well that this person who he thought he was wasn't it. He became more erratic and was basically willing to wipe out everyone. By that point it was really too late for him to turn back. Now he had his family to protect and failed to do that.

I thought I could step in and help save my family and also prove to my father what I was capable of...Yet, I only realize now it was stupid and I only trapped my family further. I didn't want this to be a surprie for you and Hermoine and I didn't want that to set anything back. I don't know what points the two of you are from.

It's weird...coming here is actually a relief. But at the same time I can't help but keep worrying." Draco said and kneeled down to pet the top of Growlithe's head. The Pokemon had leaned into him sensing his quiet worry and concern.

“Dartrix,” Lily couldn’t hide her shock upon hearing more about Malfoy’s not great experience with the Dark Lord.

Harry can’t blame Lucius for behaving the way he did at the time. It must be dangerous to be in the very same position the Malfoys were in to fail the Dark Lord and having to worry for one’s life and the well-being of others. And yet Harry still listens well to him.

“I can’t help feeling the same way too upon coming to this world too. On one hand, I don’t have to see much destruction around me in my point, but at the same time, I also worry about people trying to find out where I went to,” he is worried that he could shock Malfoy if he mentions about being taken away from the aftermath of the battle in Hogwarts and that he was able to defeat the Dark Lord or that Hermione is taken away during the time they were at the fight at the Ministry of Magic.
