Accidental Video

The feed clicks on as Geddoe's 'gear hits the floor, accompanied by the muffled sounds of a couple of pokemon doing... Well, it's hard to tell what they're doing, but it does seem to involve banging into the furniture while attempting not to make too much noise. But in any case, the observant viewer might notice that the camera seems to currently be pointed towards the half-open door to a bathroom, with the last sounds of water running for a shower lingering before tapering off completely.

There's a moment or two of silence, broken only by a muffled thump behind the 'gear and a muffled cry from a Pokémon... Shortly followed by Geddoe's voice from the bathroom.

"Joker! Bolt!"

Sure enough, there's only what could be described as a yelp as Geddoe emerges from the bathroom. He's clad only in a towel, hair still dripping, and glowering in the direction of the roughhousing duo. The especially eagle-eyed might even notice some sort of mark on the back of his hand, but who's going to be looking at hands when there's all that bare, muscular torso on display?

"Not in here..."

He starts to tell them off, then blinks as he apparently notices the recording 'gear. With a sigh he walks over to pick it up and turn it off...

.......Wait, was he seriously still wearing that eyepatch while taking a shower??

[ Well Zack didn't know what he'd find when he was scrolling on his phone lounging around but it was certainly not the video of Geddoe half naked. He had to watch it again, totally not for any reason other than to make sure he wasn't seeing things but yeah he wasn't. Geddoe really was there half naked on his phone. There was a bit of a blush on Zack's face when he rewatched it a third time and by the fourth he was already thinking of what to text him. Surely this wasn't meant to be public for everyone. ]

[Well either geddoe is super embarrassed or he's angry and doesn't want to talk. Zack thinks it's embarrassed so instead he calls him, waiting on the phone to be picked up.]

H-hey buddy are you sure you're okay? Do you need a friend right now?

As it turns out, Geddoe is neither of the above, mostly just annoyed-slash-exasperated. Sure, he didn't like it, but that's more to do with old habit of hiding his rune than actually caring about people seeing him shirtless.

Which means that, in response to Zack's concerned inquiries, he sounds... almost surprised? Perhaps a little confused.

"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?"

Still that same deadpan as ever otherwise, though.

Did Geddoe really not get mad at his pokemon showing him off? He seemed like he would be the type but maybe Zack had read him all wrong.

"Oh I just...I thought you might be embarrassed is all. If my pokemon did the same I would have been embarrassed. So I kinda thought you might want to talk to a friend"

Where they even really friends though? Zack considered Geddoe one for sure but he still was unsure on if he thought the same.

Well, sure, he's pretty annoyed at them, but more in the sense of how one might get exasperated at the antics of a couple of children. They didn't mean any harm, at least, so there's no point getting too worked up over it.

Though, as for being embarrassed...

"Not like there was really anything to see." Sure, he'd been in a towel, but some of the beachwear people go around in in summer here is far more revealing. Geddoe's more concerned about the rune, but that's another matter. "Getting them to stop roughhousing indoors is a bigger problem, anyway."

"O-oh..well okay. Sorry if I bothered you with my phone call then. I didn't mean to." He knows that Geddoe can't see him but he is still a little red faced at how dumb and quickly he over reacted for the other when really he doesn't seem to mind at all.

"I mean, I'm not sure if it helps but...you looked great." He says the last part a little wistfully and then immediately hangs up realizing how utterly desperate that sounded and how he probably made Geddoe so uncomfortable.

'Dumb, I'm so dumb!'

Geddoe might be quiet and antisocial, but he's definitely not shy, exactly. Not in the sense of getting embarrassed over something like this, at least.

That said, it's rather a pity Zack is so quick to end the conversation, as it means he misses out on hearing Geddoe give a soft snort of amusement. So that's the real reason the kid's so worked up, huh? Well, probably best to let him calm down a bit, especially since while Geddoe did throw on some clothes already, his hair's still dripping.

And dripping wet hair and eyepatches are not the greatest combination.

Zack tossed his pokegear phone the moment he hung up and hid his face in a pillow, cheeks red and annoyed. He was staying in another little motel along the route he was traveling and so all his traveling pokemon were out and hanging around the room.

Grim picked up the gear and took a photo of Zack covered with the pillow on accident. While doggo and Brodoof both lay next to Zack. Doggo is licking his arm and brodoof is worried and nudging him trying to get his attention.

His new alolan Raichu takes the phone and takes a few more photos while Cj a swablu chirps at it scaring it to the point it hit send to his most recent recipient: Geddoe.

Enjoy the photos of zacks pokemon messing around with him and Zack totally flustered.

At first Geddoe had assumed Zack had decided to call him back--probably to apologize for abruptly hanging up or something. Then he sees the actual images.

Apparently he's not the only one having to deal with his Pokémon messing with his 'gear today.

That said, he should probably at least let the poor guy know what happened, especially before it gets worse. Who knows where else those pictures might end up otherwise--or what other, potentially more embarrassing ones could be taken. So, he hits the button to send a message--audio, since there's no need to embarrass him more than he already is--that's short and to the point:

"Your Pokémon are taking pictures."

He's still laying in the bed with a pillow on his face when the familiar beeping pf his gear goes off and he perks up. Is Geddoe messaging him back or is someone trying to reach him? He hardly has many friends here so it's probably the later and he quickly sits up but can't find his phone. "Oh c'mon who took it?"

It's CJ who hands him the phone back and earns a few head pats as he nestles in Zack's lap. Zack looks at the messages and plays Geddoe's only for his eyes to widen. He quickly goes to his messages and luckily the image isn't too bad. It's kinda cute actually and a lot of his pokemon are in it too.

He sends an audio message back since he has a feeling Geddoe doesn't like to text. "Ah yeah...I guess they did the same to me but it's kinda sweet. You can see all my pokemon in it, well most of them. Still don't have any rideable pokemon though. I'm gonna have to work on that next. Hey thanks for checking on me about it by the way, I appreciate it."

"Figured you should know before they did anything else with it."

You know, like catching a much more potentially embarrassing moment. Just because he's kind of antisocial doesn't mean Geddoe lacks a basic sense of decency.

"Thanks, I don't think they'd do that though I don't usually let them into the bathroom when I'm using it."

Feeling a bit better now he reclines on the bed, Doggo resuming his perch on him of laying on his chest with brodoof beside him while the others run around the room.

"So um...do you train a lot still, to keep your figure I mean. I've been wanting to find some training partners..."

That's actually an interesting question. Geddoe's been a mercenary so long that keeping himself in shape is almost second nature. Though doubtless the rune's influence helps a bit, too.

"I try to find work that requires physical labor when I can." Which also tends to be work that doesn't require a lot of people interaction, as a bonus. "And camping on the road is good for that, too. Otherwise, training with the Pokemon isn't bad, even the smaller ones are pretty strong.

"Not much that can be done for things like training with a sword, though."

"Oh, well I mean I don't know if I really want my pokemon getting injured so I still haven't decided if I want to try the gym challenges...but if you have any extra work maybe I could come help?"

This is something he's wanted to do for a long time, a merc for hire only in this case he'd be a handyman for hire. It's close enough to the dream that him and Cloud once had and while Cloud isn't here with him maybe he can find that dream with another, or at least find a start on his own. He could also use the money too, him and his pokemon like to eat.

"I suppose I can keep an ear out, but where are you now, anyway?"

There's a very good chance he's still a week's (or more) journey from Ecruteak City, which is where Geddoe's currently crashing.

"Ugh... I don't remember. I think I'm in some cherry place? Cherry grove maybe?" He tries to find something around him but can't find anything. With a sigh he lays back down and kicks his feet a little. "I don't remember, sorry Geddoe buddy. I can text you my address later though when I figure it out or maybe I can stay near you?"

"Cherrygrove City's the first city after you leave New Bark Town, yeah."

So that means he hasn't had a chance to move on much yet. Which isn't terribly surprising, Geddoe did similar.

"I'm in Ecruteak City. It'd take you about two weeks to get here if you came straight here, longer if you plan to stop at the gyms for badges."

"Oh." Zack scratched at his head and tried to think of how quickly he could get near Geddoe. If he carried his pokemon in pokeballs he could probably make it in less then two weeks with his own stamina but then he wouldn't get to explore with them. This was a conundrum.

"Well how about you look for some jobs and maybe message me if anything shows up. I can start heading to you in the morning! Does that work?"

"I can ask around, sure. Though if you leave tomorrow, it'll still take you about a week to get to Violet City."

Longer if he's the type to take it slow.

"Do you maybe want to meet halfway?" Zack does want to see him again. Geddoe is cool people and he just enjoys the company. It also helps that he'd like to be able to work with someone again and not on his own missions. He really does need to make more friends.

Geddoe shrugs at that.

"I can get to any of the cities I've already been to through the warp pads at the Pokémon centers. Once you've been to more you'll be able to use them, too. You just have to get there in the first place."

In other words, sure, Geddoe could drop by Violet City if he wants to, but he'd need good reason to take the long way back to Ecruteak...

"Whoa you can warp? Like...magic warp? I've never warped a place in my life! That's so cool! I want to try that one day." He was totally distracted by that but once he calmed down he was able to think a little clearer. "So then do you want to meet in violet city? I've never been there. Is it purple like the name?"
