Who: Min-Gi Park and YOU
Where: Network & Goldenrod City
When: 17th-23rd September
Summary: Min adjusts to technology / Min encounters a furry thief
Rating: PG
Log:

[Min-Gi seems fairly relaxed as he sets up the framing for the camera. That might have something to do with the Alolan Vulpix that's currently napping in his lap. It's hard to be stressed when you have something that adorable snuggled up with you.]

It's kind of weird how you can have conversations with people like this, huh? I thought cordless phones were cool, but this goes way beyond that.

And like... you can store animals in tiny balls and computers? How does that even work? I thought it was probably cruel at first, but they don't seem to mind it...?

[He looks down at the Vulpix, but she has no answer for him. Only a quiet snore. Cute.]

I think they probably like warm laps more though. I don't know what I'll do if she decides she wants to evolve.

[action - 19th-23rd September]

Goldenrod City - Near the Department Store

[Min-Gi had thought he'd escaped hospitality, but with the need for money outweighing his distaste for the work he'd caved. It was just a week, right? The food court turned out to be worse than the diner had been, but at least it was now the end of his shift.

With most of the clean up done, Min's just taking out the trash before he can leave. Getting the dumpster closed is easier said than done with how full it is by the end of the day, and by the time he has the lid down securely he needs a moment. He sighs, trying not to think about what might be on the wall as he leans up against it. He pulls off his Slurpuff styled cap, closing his eyes for just a moment until...

There's a sharp tug as the hat is pulled from his hands, and by the time he looks all he sees is a glimpse of red as the thief disappears around the corner.]

Hey!

[He doesn't take off after them at first, half-expecting for it to have been dropped once it becomes obvious it isn't anything valuable or edible. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. He looks back at the door to the department store, then towards the end of the alley where he'd seen the thief disappear.

With a defeated grumble he takes off running. This situation feels horribly familiar. Or at least it does until he turns the corner that leads onto the street and manages to smack right into someone.]

Yeah, these things are kind of unbelievable right? We don't have anything like this back where I come from either.

I don't really understand how it works myself, but from what people have said the Pokemon are at least comfortable enough. I like keeping mine out when I have them in my party, though, just to let them stretch their legs.

I can tell you though...even if she decides to evolve, it probably won't stop her from wanting to cuddle in your lap. I have a few like that too.

Yeah, there's some kind of...science behind it, but I still don't really get it. And most Pokemon don't seem to be okay with it, though some don't really like it as much.

And that's fair too, not all Pokemon want to evolve. At least this it'll be easier for her not to evolve if she decides she doesn't want to.

Exactly. As long as they're safe and happy, that's all that really matters.

[ Which might seem a bit counterintuitive with all the battling, but some of the Pokemon still liked doing it, so? ]

It can be, yeah. I had a Pokemon that stopped wanting to train after a while because he didn't want to evolve. But there are some special stones that they can have that will keep them from evolving, no matter how strong they get. He has one of those now, so he enjoys training again.

Yeah, you can get them in the same place where you get the evolution stones. It's called, uh... [ Hang on, she has to check really quick. ] An Everstone. Right, that's the one.

So if any of your Pokemon don't want to evolve, you can give it an Everstone.

[ Thinking back, Luisa can't help making a face. ] Ah...yeah, they are actually pretty expensive. I managed to get one, but it set me back a bit.

Yeah. Making money here isn't too bad either though. You get some money battling other trainers, and some places in town let you work for a while. You can even find stuff along the routes to sell sometimes.

I guess employers know that most people are trainers who are passing by to get their next gym badge, so it makes some sense to have a short working period.

Yeah, it definitely makes moving on to different towns a lot easier. And they're nice about letting you work longer if you want to. When I first got here, it was too cold to really travel, so I was working in the Pokemart in Cherrygrove for a a couple months.

Yeah, it's uh...not great, really. Especially if you don't really have the supplies for camping out while it's snowing.

[ If it hadn't been for the kindness of strangers, she isn't sure that she would have really survived. ]

I definitely wouldn't recommend it, no.

[ She hadn't had much of a choice then, but now that she does she's definitely not doing it again. ]

It was pretty overwhelming, especially with suddenly finding myself in a strange new world. [ With how small the Encanto was, that had been especially difficult to get used to. ] But it wasn't all bad, to be honest. A lot of people gave me some help, so I wasn't entirely alone.

Yeah, the people here are really nice.

[ She still misses home a lot, but being here isn't all that bad either. ]
