So, all during January, it seemed my eggs just weren't hatching. I've not been here long, so I wasn't sure if that was normal for the season. but then, today, several seemed to hatch at the same time that had been due quite a bit ago.

[Including her Paldea egg from Arceus. There was a very happy ghost dog behind her.]

Did anyone else have strange things happen to them last month?

I had a Garbador following me around and gifting me gifts made of trash for a month. Though having her around did prevented some hotheaded trainers from trying to fight me and my team too often.

Oh, is that ghost dog with you, Luna? He looks pretty happy today.

An ant decided to live in our kitchen. And I got a Skitty out of a tree.

[So really, pretty minor strangeness, all things considered.]

Hmm...I think so? Whenever I ran into those adorable Snorunts, an ice storm would suddenly start up. Even if there hadn't been a cloud in the sky a few minutes before.

Wait...all of them? How many eggs were there?

I've definitely been hearing about some weird stuff. Things were kind of odd around here too. I thought it was just the normal wackiness, but I talked to somebody who thought those Snorunts were responsible somehow? They're kinda nasty little critters if that's true. He said weird stuff always happens after they show up.

Hm. That certainly sounds... odd. [Luna smiled a bit.] I'm sure she meant well with the gifts. It sounds like she might even want to stay with you. Is she part of your team now?

[Luna looked back behind her, and then nodded.]

Yes, he hatched on the first when the other eggs that were delayed hatched. I've decided to name him Ralph. He's quite fun. The little candle on his head is endearing.

An ant? [Luna looked intrigued.] Was it a normal ant or a Pokémon ant? And I'm sure the Skitty was grateful for your help.

[She nodded and invited Ralph to come closer. Still wiggling with happiness, the baby pup came up to her.]

Yes. His name is Ralph and he's a Greavard. You do have to be careful of the candle on his head so you don't get burned, but he's a happy little guy. He seems to enjoy music.

Oh, that could be their ability. If they have something called "Snow Warning", they can create a hail storm. I've seen various kinds of abilities in bred Pokémon.

A Snorunt? Well, yes. There were a lot of them around the New Year.

Not many. I'm still a beginner when it comes to breeding.

Hm. I don't know that they're particularly nasty. But it could just be in their nature to grant some sort of luck. Now that it's been mentioned by others, I've been looking at information on them, and it does seem to be a usual occurrence for them to arrive around the New Year and grant luck... whether good or bad.

Yeah ... but are they fair in granting it? At least some of us were pretty nice to them, and they didn't always return it.

Were you walkin' around with 'em? They're not supposed to hatch unless someone is giving them attention. Maybe since it's winter you haven't been moving around a lot?

It does seem to be quite random in some ways... that and they're rather easily offended from what I've been able to tell. Perhaps some are more sensitive than others?

Oh, yes. I'd already taken that into account. Though it is a very good point for anyone not familiar with how to hatch eggs.

Huh... What kinda Pokemon were they?

[ Might be hard to tell with how the camera is set up, but Kirishima's eyes keep flitting to the aforementioned ghost dog. He seems to be doing a very poor job of keeping a smile off his face. ]

Maybe. I guess that could fit.

I had this stupid bird - a... "Cramorant" is what the pokedex said it was.

It tried to eat everything I touched. It was...

I don’t really know honestly. Just earlier this month, she just left the place I’m living in for some reason. Maybe she will be back in the future, but I have no idea of where she may have come from. She does remind me a lot of Ron’s Mum if I’m going to be honest.

Oh nice. That is a great name for him. Even the candle is a nice touch for him as well.

(Ginny is happily squeaking in joy as she swims in the air in delight and chattering with Ralph.)

Well, one of the eggs was this little guy I got for Christmas, but I certainly couldn't use an egg that I couldn't identify as a base for how long something would take to hatch.

[The ghost puppy wiggled in excitement when Luna turned to face him.] Come on, Ralph. Come say hello. [He came towards the camera now, still wiggling and all happy looking.] He's called a Greavard. I've named him Ralph.

"VARD! VARD!"

And he's very talkative. [Luna was definitely amused by this.]

But, for some of the others, I had a Skitty, a Milcery, a Spinerak, and a Bidoof that seemed to take longer than they should have.

It's certainly frustrating either way. I've heard of some people who tried to do the exact opposite that they did last year, and still ended up with bad luck. They're quite particular, it seems.

Everything? Oh my. That does sound upsetting. What if it had eaten something harmful?

[Because, of course, Luna would worry about the Cramorant.]

Mrs Weasley is very kind. I can see how receiving gifts would remind one of her. She's such a generous person. I do miss some of our friends from back home from time to time.

[She smiled at the Finizen then as Ralph barked out a "Vard!" in response to say hello.]

Is your new friend one of the Christmas eggs we received as well?

[That makes... well, probably everyone but Marik.

But he shrugs.]

Angering more than upsetting. I managed to get most of the stuff out of the way before it actually ate it.

And I thought they were cute.

[Okay, so Luna could sort of understand losing an important item to a less-than-intelligent bird with a strange and very large appetite.]
