Well, I can't say I'm happy about this whole thing... But I guess the timing could've been worse. Although having a woman who's probably younger than me claim to be my mother, that kind of weirded me out. [A snicker with a bit of a snort to it, as the woman's tired annoyance gives way to begrudging fondness.] She'd have to be a lot more overbearing than that to compare...
I'll give this place some credit for the guidebook. 'Cause if a realm's gonna pull you into it, or whatever happened here, the least it can do is give you an instruction manual. But commanding the, uh, Pokey-mon we team up with feels a little weird, at least to me. I'd rather be fighting alongside them-- Although I guess without any of my magic now, that's not an option anyway. Ugh. Alright, Owl Lady, don't get caught up in that...
[After that muttered aside and a deep breath, she's sounding better - if not a bit strained.]
Might as well introduce myself. We're all weirdos to a realm we don't belong in here, right? I'm Eda Clawthorne. It's not my first time traveling like this, but it's definitely the only time I really had no say in it... And it's just the pits. What do you guys do around here to deal with all that?

It is rather strange, isn't it? I never thought I'd wake up to find myself in a completely different world that wasn't virtual reality.
I must admit though, I'm intrigued hearing that this isn't your first encounter with this particular scenario. Does it happen often for you? Are you able to leave when you please?
[Not like he has a place to go back to but he's still curious. Monsoon pauses for a moment, considering the other things Eda addressed. She's without magic? That doesn't actually exist in his world but from everything he's read, this place drags in all sorts. It's odd and mildly inconvenient that it would strip away people's "supernatural" abilities.]
My apologies for the questions. I'm utterly fascinated by the notion that there are a multitude of universes people hail from and hearing how different yet similar they all are at their core...

It can be an adjustment, but this is a pleasant world with plenty to do. Many of us take jobs or travel. And of course there's Pokemon.
They're quite central to how this world functions.

I mean, yeah... You give the commands, but you have to trust each other. Your Pokémon has to trust you know what you're doing, and you have to trust your Pokémon can do what you're asking. It feels more like teamwork than you'd think.

I have found it in my good fortune that, when I arrived here, I quickly gained traveling companions, and journeying became a lighter matter even in the state that I was thanks to them at my side. With them, I also gained new hobbies.
But perhaps, since you have just arrived... I would recommend simply journeying to the nearest town with a bit more population to it. That will allow some time to think and reflect, as well.
On the matter of your new companion... From my perspective, I always thought of it as though we were fighting together as a team, although in different positions. From my position outside of the battle, I can help better direct attacks, or help my partner avoid injury.
Of course, I can understand the desire to fight on the frontlines as well...

[That's really kind of the experience with this place, he guesses.]
Fortunately, there is a lot to do; uh, there are gyms you can challenge with your Pokemon, if you're interested in that? As well as just a lot of places to travel to and explore, if that's something you like doing. I hope you can find something you enjoy doing around here, in any case. Oh, uh-- name's Grant Abaroa, by the way.

Eda?!!
[What follows next is a loud CLATTERBANGSCRUFFLE as Hunter also abruptly... drops the PokeGear. The speaker pops a bit while he snatches it back up, there's some muffled fiddling noises, then the video clicks on.
Sort of. He's got his thumb over the camera so there's not much visual yet, but he's trying okay? This is a hell of a thing right now.]
Eda! It's- it's Hun- [Wait does she even remember his real name? Actually no did she know it in the first place he can't recall] The Gold- no, Hunter. I-is it really you? The Owl Lady??
[He knew only one Eda Clawthorne but hey, who knew who was out there in the multiverse?]
