23rd [video network post] + catchall prompts (dated to before the contest began)
Hey everyone! Since the next contest is in Ilex Forest, I wanted to make a quick advertisement!
[Kazuki turns the camera away from his excited expression to show the exterior of the Silver Horn. It's a lovely sight, the surrounding landscape just beginning to blossom into spring.]
This is the inn I run, the Silver Horn! We're based in Azalea, which is the closest town to Ilex Forest. I noticed that the show runners aren't providing any lodging this time around, so I thought I'd offer my services!
Newbies and people who are still getting their feet under them can stay for free! Or if that bothers you, you can totally pay for your stay by helping out around the place. There's a lot of work to be done in the garden this time of year, and we can always use a hand with cleaning! Or you can help out with the rehab Pokemon that are staying here right now. Every little bit helps!
Just let me know if you're planning on coming so I can make sure we've got everything ready for your stay!

Catch all prompts:
First time arrivals
[Welcome to the Silver Horn! It's a lovely little property on the borders of Azalea, with farmhouse architecture, but the interior decorating is an eclectic mix of western and eastern influences. It's a very warm, homey, slow paced inn.
Features include a tearoom where meals are served every day, open-air baths separated by gender, a lovely kitchen garden, and a soundproofed room outfitted with an upright piano where recording can be done. The property is quite large, and local Pokemon are tucked into every niche.
This is also an area with several different Pokemon habitats and nests for the rehab Pokemon to stay in. These fellas are a bit more shy than most, but they warm up to people with good intentions quite quickly.
If you want to take a look around, just ask Kazuki! He loves taking people for tours!]
Helping Out!
[If you can't pay for your stay, no worries! Kazuki will happily put you to work. There is muddy garden that needs the soil turned and compost spread, and if the weather looks to be clear of snow, seeds and nursery cuttings may need to be planted as well. There are linens that are constantly cycling through the laundry too, and dirty dishes that need cleaning... Any chore you can think of, it needs to be done!]
[Or if you prefer, the rehab Pokemon always need help! Nesting sites need to be mucked out, food and water dishes need to be refilled, medications need to be administered-- the whole lot. Giving attention to the Pokemon that are well enough to receive it is important too, but make sure that you're not just playing with the cute residents, okay?]
Tired Kazuki
[Once the guests start to arrive, Kazuki also begins to realize that he may have bitten off more than he could chew. It wasn't so horrible that he didn't have clean rooms for everyone, but it was pretty rare for him to be completely booked with temporary guests! There was a ton of kitchen work to be done that he had to be in to supervise every hour or so, plus making sure that there were clean linens, and toiletries were available for everyone, and so on. The poor boy was dashing to and fro throughout the entire day, making sure all his Pokemon helpers were on task, and taking care of everything that required a human hand.]
[After all the food and dishes from dinner were cleaned up, he was absolutely pooped. It was late at night before he was able to soak in the bath, and it was sorely needed.]
[Anyone can catch him during this time, either in the bath or just staggering out of it, his wet hair still steaming from the warmth of the soaking room. He might be a little loopy, but at least he wasn't stressed out. This was only for a couple of days, after all.]
Wildcard
[Feel free to suggest anything you'd like, or just go ahead and think of your own prompt to post below! I really don't mind what anyone would come up with lol.]

But...
[Dimitri takes in the sheepish expression on Kazuki's face.]
...I imagine it must be taking some getting used to.

I think I've got about... Four hours of sleep before I need to wake up to help Sticky with baking the bread for tomorrow's breakfast.
[He says with all the ganbare of a Japanese work ethic!!!]

Kazuki. I say this as a man who has been watched over by many others over my own sleeping habits.
But you should rest for much longer than a mere four hours with how much you have labored today.
[He's already scrounging about on his own person to try and pull out his Gear. Gremlin has shown him how to make notes on his Gear, right? He can start writing things down.]
You said Sticky needs assistance with baking bread, yes? What else is there?

I only truly need to bring two of my Paliens to the contest - Hob and Coblynau. I could very easily go over to the Pokemon Center in town, and request some of the others help you, if you needed it. Silkie is an Indeedee as well, so she could do just about anything, and Elyllon is extremely adept at being in the kitchen.

[Kazuki was very keenly aware that he felt disappointed by this, and it caused him some chagrin-- he certainly knew how to get in his own way, didn't he? Even when he was sleep deprived, his first instinct was to refuse things that he wanted.]
I'm sure another Indeedee would be a huge help to Sebastian, and if you've got a Pokemon that's good in the kitchen, I'm sure Sticky could work with them!

[Dimitri reaches over to gently lay his hand on Kazuki's shoulder, maneuvering himself so that he can help guide Kazuki back to his own room.]
Even if it is busy, your health is the most important thing, Kazuki.

[Seriously though, if there were anything like a final boss in Kazuki's mundane life, this would probably be it. A man from a datesim doesn't choose his hijinks, they choose him.]
[He gets a genuine stomach flip as Dimitri turns him around and begins to lead him down the hall. Towards his bedroom. Oh God. He can literally feel the tiniest brush of Dimitri's stray breath on the back of his neck. This is torture. Hell is real.]
I-- I know! [Kazuki wasn't sure if he wanted Tonks to be in his bedroom or not. He didn't know if the Primarina was there right now. If he was, maybe he could be a buffer? Or maybe he'd be an instigator. Tonks was definitely a source of domestic terrorism in this house, it was up to chaos theory whether or not his presence would be beneficial in this circumstance or not.] I've gotten sick too many times to still not get that...

[Dimitri chuckles, completely unaware of the effect he is having on this poor man, especially with his deep voice right behind his head.]
It is during times like those that one needs to take the help that is offered, so that they do not fall into the same trap. Although speaking of such help, after the contest, I can return and help you with whatever you may want of me.
[that's totally a normal way to phrase it]
[dimitri why are you like this, you medieval weirdo]

[Maybe back home he simply didn't allow the thoughts in at all. Maybe it was because he knew that it wouldn't lead anywhere, that it was an absolute impossibility.]
[Honestly, he didn't think this was anything but an absolute impossibility either, but for different reasons. It was because Dimitri was taken (in ways that Kazuki wasn't even totally aware of yet) and as far as he could tell, uninterested. Not because the nature of the whole homosexuality thing being shunned by society.]
[It still left him feeling horribly conflicted. He was so, so used to pining from afar. Especially towards people that were taken. By now he'd turned it into a science. But he was starting to think that was an awful way to live, no matter how much he enjoyed the little moments of closeness he could still cultivate as his own here and there. Denying himself was starting to turn into destroying himself. This tendency of his was going to get him killed someday.]
[Back to the present though.]
Wh-- Whatever I want, huh? That's a dangerous offer, you know! I could really work you hard!
[While these words could easily be considered flirting with the correct tone, Kazuki was speaking, so it came off as nothing more than awkward, yet entirely sincere. And hearing those words in his own head as he spoke, in the way that he said them, made him want to jump off of the nearest bridge of notable height he could find.]

Oh, of that, you have no need to fear! [He raises one fist up enthusiastically.] I am in fine health, Kazuki, and am capable of doing a great deal! Even now, I still ensure that I exercise daily, and spar every morning!
[It hurts without Felix there, but, well...]
[Felix wouldn't want him to slack, either.]

[When he used to get into these kind of shenanigans with Kahoko, he always got the feeling that she was totally picking up on the subtext and was just politely skirting around it for the sake of maintaining general harmony among the harem.]
[Kazuki did not get this feeling from Dimitri, at all. His obliviousness was sincere.]
I know, I know. [Still, he couldn't help but look up at his big dumb crush with a smile.] It's just a couple of early morning house chores. You'd probably be really good at kneading the bread!
no subject
[That really was a far away time, now that Dimitri thinks about it - especially in the context of their situation here in Johto, where they can all disappear in only a few months. For them both to still be here...]
[Dimitri's smile eases up a little bit as he lowers his arm.]
...Kazuki, I am glad that you are here. So you truly must take care of yourself, please.
no subject
[Tonks called Dimitri the "fry bread man" for an age after that, for reasons Kazuki still didn't understand... But that's just how Tonks lived. His whims were truly capricious.]
[He was unsure at first, what caused this sudden change in tone, but quickly intuited what was going on. Things inevitably changed here, given time. It was rare for people to stick around for years like he had. Dimitri must have found and lost people from his world many times over by now.]
[Kazuki often wondered why he was spared (or perhaps denied, depending on your point of view) from this cycle himself. Being the lone representative of his world here for his entire stay so far was perhaps even rarer than the amount of time he'd spent in the Pokemon universe. But unless Arceus suddenly decided to start explaining themselves about all this, he'd never find out. It wasn't worth ruminating over for too long.]
I'll be careful, promise. [His smile didn't let up, although it took on an air of gentle understanding.] And whenever it is, someday, that you might end up needing help yourself... I swear that I'll be there.
[Kazuki was entirely aware that this was an echo of words that he'd said to Kahoko in the past, and it frustrated him. This really was his nature. It felt so inescapable. But he didn't let a shred of it show.]
