[Varian has set his Pokegear at the back of his desk, and some clutter - mostly wires and bits of metal - can be seen scattered between the camera and where the teen sits. To his side sits one Pokemon (though only grey hair and eyebrows are really visible over the desk) while another one floats around the room behind him. As Varian records, there's the on and off presence of a sort of white noise sound.]
A lot of life here seems to be built around Pokemon, and I mean, that's pretty cool. But I'm not sure the whole battling gyms thing would be for me, and I don't think I'd want to be a Pokemon breeder, either. I like training my Pokemon! But... I'm just not that interested in all the traveling.
[He reaches over and strokes the fur of Mabosstiff beside him.]
Miss Naeva and I still have a lot to do to fix up the house, so that's good, and I've been working on some personal projects, too. One of them even went the way I wanted it to! [A slightly sheepish chuckle.] Well, with some added effects... Anyway! The one thing I did like about traveling was meeting new people all the time. Prom reminded me how fun that can be, and I've missed it since, so...
[He gesture to the camera with a shrug.]
I thought it just made sense to reach out and talk to some people, you know? See what everybody's up to these days...?

Cooking, huh? That's fun! I'm not, uh, well... I bake more than I cook. Unless you count making sandwiches for my dad as cooking! [A snicker.] But they're both sciences, really. Combining the right things in the right ways, you know?

My mama is an amazing cook, but since she's not here... well, it makes sense that I learn how to do it. I can't expect my big sis to do everything for me!
