Mandos and Helmets and Smolivs, Oh My!
Who: Bo-Katan, Mando, and anyone else!
Where: Train and Saffron City
When: Late August
Summary: Mando takes Bo-Katan to his place in Saffron City.
[Train Ride] - Closed to Mando
Everything happened so quickly. One moment she was standing before the Great Forge, with her people celebrating its lighting, then the next she was in this place. Getting kicked out of a house and left to her own devices with nothing but a bag, a few items, and s bird who wouldn’t leave her alone. Fortunately, there was another Mandalorian here, which admittedly was very helpful.
Din thankfully explained the basics, despite Bo’s disapproval of everything about everything in this world. It would take her some time to process it all. He did at least convince her to tolerate the bird, Rowlet, whatever. Showing her also how to put it in one of those balls. That was handy, as she could just banish the thing if it got too annoying.
Bo would then end up following him to another city where they would board a train which would supposedly take them to the city where he lived. Sitting in one of the seats, it vaguely reminded her of the hyperloop on Plazir-15. A thought that only brought back the disappointment she felt that he remembered none of the last few months they spent together.
“So,” she started as the train began to leave the station, keeping her helmet in her lap. “Two years. What have you been doing all this time?” An attempt at conversation at least and a desire to understand this Din Djarin better.
[Mando House] - Open to anyone who might be found here.
The train would eventually drop them off in Saffron City, which was just as impressive as the city they had left. While still not to the tech level that she’s used to, this was at least significantly better than where she had started out.
Putting her helmet back on she would again follow Din, taking in all the sights as he led her to the place she assumed he called home. She wasn’t really sure what to expect, but either way she would take it all in stride as she has done with everything in this world. It was becoming very clear to her how essential these Pokémon were to the people here as she would see many of them accompanying the citizens of the city. Pictures of them plastered on billboards and shops everywhere.
Once they reached his flat, Bo would step in and take a look around. Removing her helmet and placing it under her arm. “Cozy,” she remarks with some humor as she began giving herself a tour of the place.
[Smoliv Shenanigans] - Open to All!
She needed some air. As nice as Din and his roommates are, she was feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all and needed some space and time to think. Thus the lady Mandalorian put her helmet back on and went out to take a walk. Exploring a bit of the city would help ease her mind she thought, and she allowed the bird to come out of its ball too. Though she wasn’t quite ready to start letting it perch on her yet. Bo shooing her off every time she tried.
Her explorations eventually led her to a quaint and well manicured park. Green grass, trees, a little slice of nature in the sprawling metropolis. Of course there were Pokemon too. People playing with their companions and a few wild ones milling about. All of which largely went ignored by the Mandalorian. Though she did spot the occasional odd look or curious glance.
Though little did she expect as she walked along a path, that a horde of little green things would suddenly stampede in front of her, splashing oil all over the place. The strange little plant creatures spreading out and taking up space… practically everywhere. She could only stand there and stare for a moment, her Rowlet trilling curiously as it hovered in the air beside her.
Well, whatever, she would just move on. Except when she started walking again, all that oil would prove slippery. Her feet slipping right out from under her and causing the Mandalorian to fall with a distinct thud and clanging of metal. Her Rowlet shrieking in surprise, landed next to her to make sure she was okay. “I’m fine,” she tells the worried owl with a grunt as she grabbed a nearby bench and hauled herself onto it. A few startled Smolivs had also noticed the mishap, perhaps realizing they were the cause and crowded around Bo’s feet. All of them anxiously chirping in concern. “Go away, you’ve done enough,” she tells them grumpily while also using a foot to try and push them away. This only seems to upset them and they begin to cry. Tears streaming from their little eyes as they wailed. Bo-Katan could only sigh and removed her helmet to look at them with mixed emotion. Usually she had a good handle on her feelings, but seeing them so upset was making her upset. “Stop that. Calm down.” But they wouldn’t, and she could feel a lump in her throat too. Soon enough tears started rolling down her face too, which she furiously tried to wipe away. “I said stop!” This only made them cry harder. Even her Rowlet, which was now perched on the back of the bench, had her eyes watering up.

Mando house
When he hears the click of the lock, and the heavy steps of boots, he knows he has to move quick. He hobbles back to the couch quick as he can, tossing himself down and getting ready to deny ever having been off his ass. In fact, he's never walked a day in his life! He's a sweet and innocent little angel who has never done a single thing wrong.
All his protests die on his lips though when he finally sees that the armoured person in the door opening is very much not the armoured person he was expected. Which is already a big deal by itself -- not exactly many folks going around in armour in this world -- but then he spots the helmet, held loosely against a hip rather than on the person's head.
"Woah."
Please don't mind the simultaneously short yet lanky teenager sprawled weirdly on the couch, one leg still in a cast, who despite wearing shorts and a t-shirt is still, for some bizarre reason, wearing a flat cap on his head, staring at her like she's got about twelve heads.

on the train
First off, Bo-Katan keeps calling him Din, and that's just odd. It's not bad odd, but he isn't used to it. Only Boober and Riz know his real name in this world, and they call him Mando (or Dad, more recently) most of the time, so having his actual name tossed around isn't something he's used to hearing. It's not even his first name, either! It's not like he'd explained to Bo that Din is his surname, but still... weird.
Speaking of which, he should really tell Shadowmaru about this, if his actual name is going to be a thing now...
Secondly, it's also a relief to have another Mandalorian around, and really, if he was going to pick any other Mando to show up, it would be Bo-Katan. The Armourer is great, but she'd be miserable here without her forge, and she would also disapprove of all Mando's antics. Paz Viszla would throw a giant fit about losing his gun, and Mando doesn't have time for that. Any of the others from the Children of the Watch would be okay, but it's not like Mando (Din? is he going to have to start thinking of himself as Din now?) hangs out with them and they're friends. Bo-Katan... Bo is a friend.
The helmet thing is going to get awkward very quickly, though.
When Bo asks her question, Mando leans forward, happy for the distraction from his wandering thoughts.
"Not that much. I've gotten a few Pokemon and trained them up, but I haven't done any of the gyms here. Those are the battle tournaments where you challenge a gym leader with your Pokemon. If you win, you get a lot of money."
"I met Riz as soon as I arrived, and we started travelling together. You'll meet him soon. We met Boober later, and he joined our group. I've been training Boober in self-defence, and we move around so the kids can do gym challenges and catch Pokemon for breeding."
Yeah, he got here and immediately wound up with two adopted sons. It's a thing that happened.
"I've met a lot of people here, from a lot of different worlds. Some of them are similar to ours, and others aren't." He shrugs. "You'll see once you start talking to people."

Smolivs!
His poor, sensitive Loudred is finding it even harder not to get drawn in by all the wailing Pokémon. He doesn't like fights, or seeing anyone upset, and it's clearly too much for him. Trying to ignore the tears that are threatening to fall from his own eyes, he pats the Loudred in what is apparently not at all a soothing way.
He quickly goes from the verge of tears to full on wailing, loud enough to drown out all the Smolivs put together as he waves his arms around and stomps, tears pouring from his eyes.
"Hey, woah! Stop it. It's all going to be fine..."
He's not so sure it is though. Min-Gi feels awful, and he's way closer than he'd like to bursting into tears like the rest of them.

Mando House
The meal prep is done and the food is in the fridge, just needing to be cooked, so Boober can just sit back and relax... Or, well, get as close to relaxing as he can with someone new coming. He liked talking to Bo-Katan, she seemed fine! But it's still a change, and that's inherently stressful to Boober.
He's playing with Traveler, his Hisuian Growlithe, and as soon as she hears voice - particularly an unfamiliar one - the highly-friendly pokemon disengages from Boober and starts yapping joyfully in the direction of the newcomer.]

The most obvious solution was to jump into this training business. Despite the misgivings she had, Bo finally sat herself on the couch and began reading the Pokémon Handbook and the Guide to Pokémon Battling. Learning about everything from berries and potions to Pokémon types and attacks.
Next all three of her Pokémon would be sitting around her as she used her Poke Gear to look up information on each one of them. The little device rattling off the basic info about all the members of her current party. The Rowlet, Smoliv, and Pawniard are sitting and waiting patiently.
With a sigh she eventually closes the gear and looks at the little creatures. “This is a lot to take in.”
