Day at the races
Who: Anyone coming to race!
Where: Circuit de Kantochamps
When: September 15th
Summary: Farrah Ari has a problem and she has appealed to you for help!
Log:
On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!
Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--
Oh good god.
That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.
Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.
The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

It was less about winning to her and more about trying to prove herself to that stubborn Dragonite. But it seemed she had a lot more work to do. The indignant snort from Min-Gi's dragon gets an amused look though.
"And who is? He's a handsome looking dragon."

Min's been pretty fortunate, but he does have some troublemakers if not outright defiant Pokémon. Each one is so different, it makes sense some wouldn't respect their trainers right away.
Beat says his goodbye to the Cyclizar in the stalls, wandering over to where Min and Bo are talking so he can be properly admired. He is a little shorter than the average Dragonite, but still cuts an intimidating figure. He makes a pleased rumble at the praise, Min-Gi rolling his eyes with an affectionate smile.
"This is Beat," he tells Bo, patting his side. "He's a Baxcalibur. They're dragon and ice types."

“Dragon and ice?” That’s a new one for her. But then a lot of things are still new to her here. She knows dragons are weak to ice, so that’s a bit baffling. To the point her face scrunches up a little but in confusion.
“How does that work?”
no subject
"Some Pokémon have more than one type. It doesn't seem to matter if it'd be strong or weak against their primary type."
Beat doesn't seem offended by her confusion, at least. He leans in to nudge her with his admittedly cold nose, wanting to get to know her.

“Hello, Beat,” she tells the big guy fondly. “It’s nice to see a friendly dragon for a change. Perhaps you can give me some advice on how to make friends with Ori.” Not that he could talk of course, but Pokemon still seemed to have ways to communicate.

In fact it seems pretty clear they don't. Maybe asking other Pokémon really is the way to go. Beat certainly seems open to it. He snorts agreeably, tail thumping the ground more like he's a big friendly dog than a dragon.
"It sounds like he'd be open to it," Min laughs, glad to see him making friends. Beat always enjoys it, but sometimes other people or Pokémon can be put off by him. "Maybe he and Ori should meet sometime?"
no subject
After all, Ori got along really well with Mando's Dragonair. So why not give it a try? She looks back at Beat.
"If you could convince him to be at least a little nicer I would forever be in your debt." It wouldn't be an easy task though, she's sure. If only she could figure out what was really going on with that dragon.

For his part the Baxcalibur bows his head in agreement. Apparently he's willing to rise to the challenge, and quite looking forward to it judging by the glint in his eye.
"We'll have to figure something out. It might be good for both of them."
Ori could learn to be a little nicer, and Beat gets the chance to hang out with someone he doesn't have to keep in mind his size with besides the couple of Min-Gi's team who compare.
no subject
Hopefully one day he would see her as a friend. She certainly doesn't want the Dragonite to be miserable after all. She knew all about not having anyone that she could really talk and relate to.
"Maybe we can work something out after the race."
no subject
Min just worries sometimes.
Still. He's made the offer, and Beat certainly seems eager for Bo to take them up on it.
"Yeah. Of course. I guess I should probably leave you to prepare..."
The race will be starting soon, after all.
