Day at the races
Who: Anyone coming to race!
Where: Circuit de Kantochamps
When: September 15th
Summary: Farrah Ari has a problem and she has appealed to you for help!
Log:
On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!
Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--
Oh good god.
That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.
Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.
The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

"I'm changing your name. You're not Terra, you're Terra-ble."
Har har. He's hilarious.
"Congratulations, ma'am. On the race."
no subject
"It's Bo-Katan," she corrects him. "And thank you, but I think the Cyclizar deserves the credit more than me." That Pokemon had a lot more in her than Bo had realized. Especially in the last stretch there.
"Are you sure you're going to be all right? I've got bacta if you need it."
no subject
Someone who deserves respect, they get an automatic ma'am or sir, or some other term of it. He still does it to Allura, on occasion. Very gingerly, he pushes himself up into a sitting position.
"They all do, I think. But, still..." And then a shake of his head. "I'll be okay. Didn't realize how tense I was for the electric stretch is all. Thank you."
no subject
Bo-Katan smiles and gives him a friendly pat on the shoulder as he sits up. "That one was tough. I don't think I would have fared much better if it hadn't been for my armor." She had been worried the weight would have slowed her Pokemon down. Turns out there was no reason to worry about it at all.
She then looks up at "Terra-ble". Gesturing at the big horse Pokemon. "So, tell me about your friend here." Bo-Katan has obviously warmed up to Pokemon since Shiro last saw her.
no subject
He's heard a bit about the armor. Mostly from another Mandalorian entirely, but hey. He's always interested in learning more. The stuff seems pretty indestructible as far as he can tell.
The horse snorts, lifting her head at the name. Eventually she decides it's not that important, and returns to the victory lunch.
"Terra. She's a Mudsdale... and a lot more stubborn than I ever thought," he says, shaking his head. "They're not from Kanto or Johto, but they showed up a few years ago. Ground types, and not usually known for speed."
Then again, aside from Skarmory, Shiro's pokemon are more built for durability.
no subject
Looking back to Terra she quietly appreciates the large Pokémon. “Fast or not, she’s definitely sturdy. I saw how she stomped through those spikes.” After all, speed hadn’t been the only factor when it came to that race. The obstacles had proved to be quite a challenge.
“And her type must have helped her with the electricity too.” Ground types are immune to electricity right? Though obviously Shiro didn’t have that benefit.
no subject
The horse pokemon shakes her mane out, a little proudly, like she's preening at the compliment. "She sure is. One of her signature moves is Bulldoze for a reason..." As the maze and the spikes found out the hard way.
"Yeah. Ground is immune to Electric attacks. That was pure luck." Him picking Terra to race this time was anyway.
no subject
“Well, you two sure put up a good fight.” And he has her respect as a result. With Mandalorians, winning was never the only factor. It was nice, sure, but fighting to the end and giving it all you’ve got is what really mattered. It’s what made one honorable.
Rising to her feet again, she then offered her hand to Shiro. Offering to help him up. “I’ll look forward to a rematch should we ever have the opportunity again.”
no subject
"Hah - thank you. I'll have to take her on a gym circuit if I ever do another one." Or try the other gyms outside the Kanto and Johto League. Like Armin's. "Had a lot of competition out there. So thank you."
A blink, and he takes the offered hand. Mando hadn't so much as looked at his right hand twice, so... hopefully that tracks for the rest of his people, too. "Same here. I'll have to remember your strategy."
no subject
Like Mando, Bo-Katan didn't so much as bat an eye when her hand was taken by a robotic prosthetic. Such things were not uncommon in their galaxy after all. Instead there's an amused twist of her lips as she pulled and helped Shiro to his feet. He would find that she's a strong lady too. After all, she single-handedly hauled a man bigger than her and fully clad in armor out of the water... twice.
"I just used what the Pokemon had," she said with a shrug. "Though I admit, I think I'm a fan of Cyclizar now."
no subject
Maybe he needs to hang around space folks more often. Definitely easier not to worry about the arm around them so far. He laughs a bit, as he's hauled to his feet - but not in a bad way. He's not used to it, not from anyone. So it's kind of a fun novelty.
"You'll have to look into getting one then, sometime." That grin is firm on his face. "There's bound to be breeders all over the place with them after this."
no subject
"That's already taken care of. Apparently one of my prizes is a free Cyclizar."
And some sort of scarf? But honestly, she's more excited about the Cyclizar. She's fascinated with the lizards, who are actually kind of cute.
"The woman who runs the track apparently breeds them too."
no subject
Another laugh, and a hand pushed through his hair to both straighten the floof in the front and shake out any lingering track debris. It's only marginally successful and just sort of ends with Shiro looking goofy.
"She's going to be doing great business after all this, I think. If the ... Mushroom jellyfish don't come back."
Jellyfish. Why does it always have to be jellyfish.
no subject
“I think you’re right. Though I would hope those jellyfish learned their lesson.” Though she wouldn’t put it past big mama Toedscruel to find some way to get revenge.
But after a moment Bo can’t help herself and raises a hand. Not quite towards his hair but close enough to point at a particularly big spike of a cowlick. “You might want to smooth that out.”
no subject
Some pokemon are like that. Like people, really - more easygoing versus the ones who nurse the smallest slight into a grudge. But, hopefully, they'll leave the racetrack alone in the future.
"Huh?" He lifts his hands again, fluffing his hair around before he makes another attempt to smooth it all down. "That bad, huh?"
no subject
"There you go, much better." This said after he smoothed out his hair.
A glance was then cast off to the side as something got her attention. Ah... yes. She should probably see to that. But first she looked back to the young man. "It was good seeing you again, Shiro. But I have a Dragonite to pick up." Poor Radley didn't need to deal with Ori any longer than necessary.
no subject
He grins, lopsided, the expression making him look at least ten years younger than how he carries himself. "Thanks. And, yeah, don't let us keep you." He nods toward where his Mudsdale was still munching away. Like a real horse would do, actually.
"Congrats again."
no subject
One last look at him and his Pokémon and she goes on her away. The Mandalorian in high spirits as goes to claim her Dragonite then head to the stables to pick out her new Cyclizar.
