Day at the races
Who: Anyone coming to race!
Where: Circuit de Kantochamps
When: September 15th
Summary: Farrah Ari has a problem and she has appealed to you for help!
Log:
On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!
Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--
Oh good god.
That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.
Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.
The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

The Mudsdale just snorts. Yeah she knows you're talking about her. She does not care. Shiro tries not to laugh, once the deer headbutts Keith. Wounding his brother's pride further is probably a bad idea.
"He's friendly." To say the least.
no subject
Keith glanced over at the Mudsdale.
"Is she alright?" The maze had been wood walls, so Keith hoped she didn't have any nasty splinters or anything.
no subject
As if aware of his scrutiny, Terra sneezes, shaking out her mane.
Shiro just laughs quietly. "Oh she's fine. Believe me. She didn't even get a scratch. Ground type and all."
no subject
All kidding aside, though, he was glad Terra came out of the race okay.
"Need any help getting her cleaned up?" You just planked through a major portion of the race, Shiro. That torso was going to be sore and make any sort of Mudsdale grooming a literal pain.
no subject
Speedy pokemon seem to be more Keith's jam, and honestly, Shiro gets it. He really gets it. Terra was kind of an accidental acquisition, but he's not upset about it.
"You know... probably. I think I need to work out more."
no subject
"More?" Keith raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Beach life taking it too easy on you?"
no subject
He rolls his eyes. But it's directed at himself. Clearly, he needs to workout more if this is the result of a few minutes of planking. It was more than a few minutes in reality, but still!
"I could probably start lifting Spheals. We have enough of them."
no subject
"I-uh... well, yeah. We do..."
Of course, now Keith was imagining two Spheals, each hanging on to the end of a large stick, and Shiro benchpressing them.
It was a very odd mental image.
"I mean... it's not like what you did was easy to begin with, though," he said. "You could just give yourself a break, you know."
no subject
Shiro just shakes his head. "It's fine, I'll just step up the routine." Then he laughs, but the gesture pulls the sore muscles a bit. "Not like I have a lot else to do on my days off."
no subject
"Right," he said. "Being bored sucks. I get it."
He also knew that Shiro liked to overwork himself lately... So, yeah. He was trying not to be worried and play this off because he didn't know how to approach it without accidentally starting a fight.
no subject
Which he would love to do. But things keep coming up. Story of his life - except. He brightens, suddenly.
"What do you think about 'Nova'? For the badge?"
no subject
"I think it suits you," he said. "Most people would definitely recognize it as a badge from your gym." Especially if they knew anything about Shiro. It's not like Shiro's love of space and the stars was all that much of a secret.
no subject
He's kidding. Anyone who knows him probably knows where his heart lies. He holds his hands up, gesturing slightly, like he's picturing a sign.
"Nova Badge - Cosmos Gym. Attach it to the observatory on Four Island... Just too bad we can't get any zero gravity."
no subject
"Zero gravity, huh?" Keith considered that. He didn't know how it could be done, either, but... "Man... if Hunk was still here, he'd probably be able to figure something out." Heck, they had teleportation pads. Surely something with anti-gravity could be figured out.
no subject
There's a sad fondness in the statement. It's still hard sometimes, realizing how many of their teammates aren't around anymore. But now - no. Now isn't the time to think about that.
"... I also need trainers," he goes on, like he's just thinking of this, when really, it's been on his mind. "People for challengers to test themselves against before they get to the Gym Leader."
See where he's going with this, Keith?
no subject
"I imagine you do." He'd done enough gym challenges now himself to know how it worked. "I wonder who could help with that..." Keith looked up at the sky as if he was thinking about it, though it was hard to hide the little bit of amusement from his tone. "I'm sure if you asked, you'd have a lot of people wanting to do just that."
Though, there were also probably a good number of people who'd try to encourage Keith to run his own gym, but... Keith would honestly prefer to work in someone else's. Running his own was kind of like doing the whole leader thing again, and there was only so much of that Keith wanted to be involved with.
no subject
He leans over a bit, digging an elbow into Keith's side at that. He'd wanted all of them there, when he'd been starting to plan. The whole team. Now they're down to just a few, but that hasn't really changed.
Having Keith and Allura as trainers would mean a lot. Putting that pressure on them doesn't feel right, though. All he can do is ask.
"I'm going to ask Allura, too, if she wants. Unless she'd rather set up her own gym."
no subject
"Honestly, Allura and I haven't really talked about what we're gonna do after we're done with the two badge circuits. We're close to finishing Johto, though, and I know she definitely at least wants to finish Kanto, too. But, that's as far as we've talked about it right now." And, yeah, Keith would be torn between supporting two gyms, not that he wouldn't try to, unless he and Allura ended up doing a joint one together as alternating leaders or something.
But again, did he want to lead a gym? Keith still wasn't sure about that, either.
