On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!

Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--

Oh good god.

That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.

Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.

The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

[and herein lies the problem]

[or, you know, one of the many problems, which tend to accrue in Dimitri's life. There is a brief but noticeable pause as he takes in that question, that request, and it is almost possible to see the way the gears in his brain stutter and misclick in that moment.]

Well, what do you prefer? I know there are savory and sweet things both, here.

[The hesitation did get her attention for a moment, but she pushed past it as he did. She could find out later.]

Hm, well... I do enjoy both, but... I think I prefer sweet.

[Oh thank goodness, he knew people who liked really sweet things once upon a time, he can make a decent recommendation here. Dimitri perks up slightly.]

Oh, well, what are your thoughts on cotton candy? It seems as though there was a rather interesting stall that I saw which seemed to put an interesting twist on it!

[Romelle had to think about that for a second. The term certainly sounded familiar.]

I don't believe I've tried that. Is it wearable candy? Or clothing that's edible?

Oh - no, I do not believe so, although I suppose there must be something similar, somewhere. [Modern food can be weird, after all.] But, rather, it is so soft and light that it looks like cotton.

It is rather interesting to feel in the mouth, because of that. It melts almost immediately.

Oh, that sounds rather delightful. [Apparently, Alteans have a sweet tooth.] I'd like to try some of that, I think.

I am glad you think so! I rather enjoy the peculiar sensation myself, so I hope that you feel the same way.

[Situation successfully navigated. With that done with, Dimitri starts to escort her down to where he last saw the stall, with a small line at it already. At least it's still easy enough to see some of the process from here...]

It can come in many delightful shapes, as you can see.

[Romelle watched, nodding about the shapes. There were several different ones... colorful flowers, cute bows, pretty stars... even Pokémon!]

Some of are almost too pretty to eat. I really like the Jigglypuff.

Ha... I do admit that I cannot deny the delightful shapes that can be made with food, here in this world.

[Ask him about the macaroni shapes they sell sometimes- or don't.]

The skill of cooks in this place is truly amazing. There are many things that I wish I could bring back with me, when the day comes when I must leave this place, and this is not the most important of them... but I would not regret it if I could.

Mm. [Romelle took that Jigglypuff as her choice, nodding a little in agreement.]

There are many things here I wish I could bring back as well, but... with how we arrive and then how some have gone back, I don't think it's possible. I've heard from those who have gone home and then come back again, and it doesn't sound like there's any way to keep what we've gained here to bring home with us.

It's kind of sad, really.

[Ah... A disappointing reminder indeed. Dimitri considers it, even as he takes a poliwhirl sort of shape for himself.]

Even so... These experiences have meaning. They have affected us.

I simply must believe that... there to be a purpose to it all.

[That got a small smile out of Romelle. A little said, but a smile all the same. She nodded.]

That's a good way to look at it. Having a purpose, even if we don't fully know it or understand it, helps keep you going when you're uncertain.

Indeed. It has taken some work for me to find measure of that purpose here.

[Even if sometimes it doesn't feel quite right, but, well... That's exactly why he has a couple of psychic types and numerous support Pokemon around to help him.]

[But that's enough of that, and he shakes his head.]

Ah - but please, let me know what you think of the cotton candy.

Mm! [Right... better eat it before it starts to melt. Such thin strands of sugar would start to get sticky in the late summer, early fall warmth. After studying her treat for a moment to determine the best way to go about it, she finally settled on pulling at some of the outer strands first, having seen some of the other patrons do the same thing after getting their own. She actually giggled a little at the whole thing.]

It's very sweet. I do like it. But, goodness! It gets sticky fast!

Doesn't it?

[Dimitri beams, not one to mind such mess even as he goes about with his own ball of fluff. He's been in far worse states than just a little sticky, after all.]

The second it finds any bit of wetness, it falls apart, ha ha. But I suppose it cannot be helped. That is exactly why it has such a fascinating texture and sensation.
