Day at the races

On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!

Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--

Oh good god.

That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.

Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.

The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Estrella and I almost got thrown off by a couple of things during the race.

[ Estrella snorted. Excuse, she was perfectly fine. ]

Yeah, especially with the strange looking spiders and the electric sea urchins. I didn’t expect them to be thrown into the path at all, especially with the latter. They were pretty terrifying to have a run in with and poor Félix was scared for every racer while we’re watching all of you on the screen.

Roselia, Lia. Rose. Noibat, Bat, Bat.

Honestly. I felt really bad about having to push them aside, but it was either that or run them over, and then they would've gotten hurt along with Estrella.

Yep. It was a tough decision needing to push them aside on the side of the tracks to prevent more damages and injures for everyone involved, including those new weird spiders and sea urchins. They do have feelings and can feel pain too in spite of what had happened.

Yeah. Especially since I'm sure most of them didn't even realize what was happening. They probably were just minding their own business and then suddenly found themselves in the middle of the track.

Yeah, it was quite the surprise to be tossed into the middle of the track and being the obstacle the racers have to deal with. I can’t imagine being just as stressed out as those Pokémon, being thrown into such a busy path so suddenly like that.

Right? I hope they're okay. [ She gently pats Estrella's side. ] I know it really surprised Estrella the first time it happened.

Not so much the third time, though.

Yeah. I do hope they will be able to recover from that eventually as well. At least Estrella is able to shrug off the surprising amount of the Pokémon obstacles and being able to get across the finish line in the end.

[neverbreaks]

Yeah. [ She smiles as she brushes Estrella's mane, who gives a pleased knickering sound. ] Estrella is really strong. I'm so proud of her.

That is always great to hear. She is both strong and resilient at the same time and I think that my Pokémon can agree on that as well. Is that right, Carmen, Félix?

Rose, Roselia! Noi-bat! Noi, bat-bat!

[ Estrella ducks her head in an almost bashful gesture, tapping a hoof against the ground. ]

I think she appreciates the kind words.
