Day at the races
Who: Anyone coming to race!
Where: Circuit de Kantochamps
When: September 15th
Summary: Farrah Ari has a problem and she has appealed to you for help!
Log:
On September 15, all who have given heed to Farrah's plea for help gather at Circuit de Kantochamps over in, well, Kanto. UBIRDS were arranged by Farrah for the event (she really, really wants someone to beat these little jerks) so anyone, anywhere is welcome to join!
Once you arrive at the Circuit, Farrah can be seen pacing and muttering to herself, her Cyclizar Charles trying his level best to calm her down. It doesn't look like she is interested in a chat right now. Neither would you be, probably, if your Circuit was absolutely flooded with strange Tentacool knock-offs (If you scan them with your gear, the Pokedex will tell you these pokemon are called Toedscool) who are all jumping around, stretching, wrestling a bit amongst each other and being a rather general nuisance. Though if anyone tries to tell them off, they very quickly flee to hide behind--
Oh good god.
That's an absolutely massive Tentacruel-- no, Toedscruel. She towers over the many little Toedscool, patting them with her massive tentacles, and having the audacity to glare at you if you even dare to look slightly funny at her very precious brood.
Unfortunately, because of how quickly Farrah had to put this all together, there aren't a lot of side activities available at the circuit right now. There is The Race obviously, but apart from that, you are free to check out The Stables where Farrah's Cyclizar are being kept. If you are interested in borrowing one for the race, you might want to head over there a little early and get to meet your new ride.
The other thing that is available is A Small Museum. And we do mean small! It's barely two rooms, but it is filled with memorabilia of Cyclizar racers and racing from outside of this region. It honestly looks less like a formal museum, and more like someone's personal collection that has grown massively out of control. But hey, if you have an interest in learning a bit more about Cyclizar racing (or if you just want a quiet place to flee the crowd) feel free to check it out.

RNG really hates him
“Come on, Ori. You can do this.”
Bo-Katan knows that the Dragonite is strong and capable, the confusion seemed to be getting the best of him. He growled, blinking and trying to focus. He then tried again, attempting to use Dragon Rush. Except he just rushed head first into the bushes. His rear end hanging out of the foliage as he flopped in frustration.
Unwilling to simply watch him embarrass himself, Bo-Katan goes to the dragon’s rescue. Pulling out a Full Heal and a couple potions. The dragon grumbling unhappily as she approached. “It’s okay, Ori. You’re fine.” She sprays the full heal and the two potions on him, and that seems to do the trick. The Dragonite standing up and looking at her quietly.
“Go on. Try again.”
She motions to the waiting Rattata and his trainer. The Dragonite moving back into position with one last glance at Bo.

"That is another way in which it can be nice to be with a trainer, and the rest of the team," he says, while Gremlin shakes himself off. Dimitri smiles up to Ori. "In the wild, you only have yourself to rely on, don't you? I understand that sort of thing... very well." He knew it for five long years and, considering he came out of it with an eyepatch for his troubles, it didn't really go great.
"But there is no need to do that, with a trainer watching your back, helping patch your injuries. With that matter handled by another, don't you think that allows you to put your full focus towards matters of training and battle?"
Certainly it seems to have helped Gremlin. Still, he's said his piece on that, and Dimitri nods down to Gremlin. He doesn't want to show all of Gremlin's abilities so soon in just one battle... His amount of TMs is one of their little tricks. So, to help finish up - "Super Fang, please."
In other words, one of the moves which truly helps remind one that even if Rattata and Raticate are incredibly common, their moves are still incredibly damaging.
And Rattata especially are quick little things, as demonstrated by Gremlin darting forward at full speed, zig-zagging in the way all prey Pokemon know, towards Ori with his big teeth at the ready.

Though when Dimitri calls for his Rattata to attack, the Dragonite is determined not to have Gremlin get the better of him this time. So when he moves to attack, so does Ori, with an amount of speed that one would think would be impossible for an 11 foot tall dragon. Bo-Katan watching with bated breath as Ori goes in with Extremespeed, having every intent to pound that little rat into the ground. Though that Super Fang will definitely hurt regardless.

It would be disrespectful to give it anything less, especially against such a powerful and proud opponent.
Extreme Speed is certainly not a move to scoff at, however, and there's a loud squeak as Gremlin comes into contact with a large dragon fist. (Funnily enough, it sounds more indignant than pained, although that is mostly a product of Gremlin's own personality.) With the size difference, it's hard for Dimitri to see if Gremlin managed to bite down or not. That might make the difference in this sort of battle...
But when worst comes to worst, there's always one more trick, and Dimitri calls it out to the little rat. "Ice Beam, Gremlin!"
Wiggling out from underneath a large fist, the Rattata's cheeks puff out, briefly illuminated from the inside with a bright blue glow... before a large ray of frost bursts out. Much larger than a small rat should conceivably carry within their small body.

Bo-Katan just shakes her head at the whole ordeal. Hopefully Ori would have learned something from this, but she suspects he will just be all the more stubborn.
"It was worth a try," she tells Dimitri as she's not sure he really got through to him.
Meanwhile she pulls a revive out of her bag and moves over to him. Opening the dragon's jaws and placing it in his mouth.

Picking the Rattata up, Dimitri starts to look him over just to be sure all is well. "If I had the presence of mind to bring along my Indeedee companion, she would have been of far more use. You see, she knows how to use her abilities to speak to humans, and so she has often acted as a very useful third party for matters such as these."

“Perhaps another time then.” She doesn’t know anything about Indeedee, but if they ever crossed paths again they could give that a try. The Mandalorian then standing and stepping back when the Dragonite’s eyes open. The dragon pushing himself up into a sitting position, not looking any happier than he was before.
“I think it’s time for you to take a break.” She with that she returns Ori to his ball.

"Indeed. This land often seems to have events which draw the attention of foreigners such as ourselves, so our meeting again will likely happen sooner than later." Setting Gremlin onto his shoulder, he bows his head slightly to her. "I shall leave you be, then. I thought perhaps I could assist you in some manner, but I may just have been a bother."
no subject
It might have brought about more questions than answers but she felt there were clues. It was just a matter of figuring it out. Bo had suspected all along it wouldn’t be easy. Ori was a tough nut to crack.
“I do have to prepare for the race, but thank you.”
