[Someone is feeling a bit lonely today thanks to this mouse swarm. However, talking about things like this has always been difficult for her, especially in regards to feelings. Yet, she's not sure if she can keep bottling it up either. So have an anonymous text.]


Have you noticed how these mouse Pokemon are running around in pairs or in families of three or four?

It must be nice to have someone at your side without having to worry whether they'll leave. To have a family.

Do you have a family back home? What are they like?

[...Boy, that's certainly... some timing. Well, okay, obviously, the timing is because of the swarm of mice, but it really does highlight how close this swarm is to Chip's birthday.

They would love this, he's pretty sure.]

Ha, yeah. It's interesting; I've seen Pokemon move around in family units before, but not quite so closely-knit as these.

I, uh... I have a kid. Chip. They'd be, uh, 13 at the end of this month; they're pretty shy with people they don't know well, but they're... they're an absolute force for chaos when they're comfortable somewhere. They absolutely love animals, too; they used to be here, and they just... really thrived.

What about you? ...If that's something you wanna talk about.

I don't have any children of my own, so I can't relate with being a parent. But Chip sounds like a wonderful child. I would have liked to have met them.

My family is all gone. They died many years ago. I thought I might have found a new one, but they've left. It seems the feelings may not have been mutual.

Oh, god, I'm sorry to hear that - both parts, of course. That's awful.

It's simply the way of things.

Sure. And sometimes the way of things is garbage.

Yes, but nothing can be done about it. Except to move on as best you can.

Ugh, yeah. Guess so. And trying for the whole "making things better for other people" thing, but that only goes so far.

I was doing fine making things better for others until I was brought here.

Here I find I have little purpose.

Yeah? How did you make things better for others before? If it's not something you can do here, then maybe there could still be a way to branch out.
