Goldenrod City was a busy place, and sometimes a little overwhelming for a former ghost just turned human. Streets were usually crowded with both people and Pokemon, and the city was large enough that often times Napstablook found themselves getting lost or turned around.
But it was a learning experience, that's for sure. Their new human body was taking a lot of time to get used to, but that's partially why Mettaton had rented out a house for them to live in for a little while. From the comfort of an actual home, Napstablook learned about sleeping schedules, eating schedules, what happened if you didn't rest enough, what happened if you rested too much...
Despite their feelings on the situation (I'm not cut out to be human, I can't figure it out fast enough-), they're heading out into the city. Today's plans consisted of visiting a sandwich shop and a music store. At the moment, they've only made it to the sandwich shop.
It seems like they were in the middle of trying to eat lunch, but there's currently a stray Houndour pawing at their leg and wiggling back and forth while whining a little. Napstablook looks down, wearing their usual slightly worried-looking expression.
"oh... did you want some too? you followed me all this way too... i'm sorry i should have gotten you something."
Someone approaching out of the corner of their eye distracts them for a moment, and Napstablook glances up - much to the disappointment of the dog trying to get their attention.
"oh hi frisk... it's good to see you."
A small, awkward smile. They remembered this time!
Frisk has more than enough enthusiasm to make up for Napstablook's understated presence, and they beam as they hurry over the rest of the way. They hadn't expected to see their friend out and about, considering their reclusive nature, but it's a very welcome surprise.
"Napstablook! It's good t' see you, too!"
They come to a quick stop and nod happily, not wanting to intrude on their space if it isn't welcome. But, predictably, Frisk's attention is caught by the Houndour pestering Napstablook and they offer it their hand to sniff. Buddy paws at the ground from behind Frisk, apparently feeling a little shy today.
The Houndour leans in for a sniff, and even a quick lick. But once the Houndour realizes that he isn't being offered food, he continues to sniff around.
Napstablook still isn't sure what to do with the Houndour that's been following them around. It's not theirs, but...
"oh that's... um, i'm not really sure what pokemon it is... i gave it some food earlier because it looked hungry and wanted my bag, but it's followed me around since then..."
It hasn't occurred to Napstablook to just, you know, catch it. What if it doesn't want a trainer? They don't want to just assume.
The Houndour gives Frisk a quick sniff just to double check if they might have some food. It's tail wags happily as it trots away.
"if they want to stay they can... but if they're just following me around because they're hungry then maybe i should get them something... wouldn't want to disappoint them if that's all they're here for..."
Meet Napstablook, the biggest pushover to all hungry stray Pokemon. Luckily, they do have some Pokemon food packed away instead of just giving the Houndour their sandwich, and they open their bag to look inside.
"i hope they like what i give medley..."
His Pumpkaboo, who isn't currently out of her Pokeball at the moment. Napstablook makes a note that they'll have to have to get more - Medley gets testy when she's hungry.
Closed to Frisk

"Um, well, it's a Houndour! I've got two that decided t' stay with me after I helped them with a trashbag that was bullyin' them."
They frown a little, folding their arms and considering the pup.
"Maybe they wanna stay with you? Or I guess he could jus' be really really hungry..."

"Big Bone an' Lazy Bone like th' food I've been gettin' everyone pretty good! I don't think Pokemon are too picky, hehe."
Not that Frisk is too picky of an eater, either--they'll stuff just about anything in their mouth if they're hungry.
