Video;
[When her video opens today, it is of Bo-Katan sitting on the floor of Mando's apartment while her Type: Null is sprawled out across the couch in the background. Her helmet sitting nearby in partial view.]
A friend of mine and I plan to take a tour of the Sevii Islands next month.
[A voice that sounds suspiciously like Riz's then interupts.]
Spring Break I believe in you!
[That makes Bo pause, a funny look on her face for a moment before she continues.]
The plan is to be there all month, and I was wondering what would be the best things to see.
[There's then a longsuffering sigh that sounds reminiscent of Boober. Again Bo pauses, her brow creased slightly.]
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them.
[This time a voice that sounds very much like Mando interupts.]
This is the Way.
[Bo-Katan then whips around to stare at the Null behind her then looks off in another direction with annoyance clear in her expression.]
Dank farrik. Din Djarin! This is your doing!
Dank farrik!
[The feed then cuts off.]

She saunters over and drapes an arm over Mando’s shoulder and purposely leans all her weight against him.
Oh. So sorry. Were you busy with washing those dishes? Too bad.
“You wouldn’t know anything about my Null repeating things would you?”
no subject
“Is your Null repeating things?” Listen to the innocence in that vocal inflection! “That’s weird. Oberon and Hangdog don’t do that.”
no subject
Nevermind that he probably has a good 40 lbs over her but she’s smirking as she continues to do her best to disrupt what he’s doing. For now she’s turning to face him, both arms now draped over his shoulder as she rests her chin on them. Looking at his helmet with eyes full of mischief.
“It is strange,” she admits. “Especially since it says something only you would say.”
no subject
"One of the kids might have said it around him."
no subject
"Said what? You didn't even ask what it said."
no subject
"I'm assuming it said 'this is the way,' although YOU say that sometimes too."
no subject
He does actually, because if he moved she would probably end up on the floor right now since she's balancing a bit precariously on one foot at the moment. With all her weight against him.
She smirks at the next thing he says.
"Name one time I've said that since I've been here."
no subject
Has she, though? Mando isn’t sure, but she has to have said it! He’s said it to her, right? And while Bo doesn’t walk the same path as him, she’s respectful and would repeat it back.
Okay, she’s getting heavy. Mando shifts his weight so he’s leaning more against the counter. Dishes are still being washed!

She stands there for a moment, considering her next move. He wasn’t going to win that easily. While Bo-Katan doesn’t normally get this up close and personal with anyone she opts to jump on his back, piggy-back style. Folding her arms across his shoulders.
“I think you just want me to say it. You could have just asked. But then, it is kind of sweet you found a way for me to remember you.”
Her teasing tone is almost flirtatious.
no subject
No. No, he is going to gallantly straighten up, square his shoulders, and keep. Doing. The damn. DISHES!
"It reminds me of home when I hear it." And for a couple of years now, he's been the only one who knew and understood the Creed. They might differ on the details, but they're both Mandalorians, and that's a bond he doesn't have with anyone else. "Maybe it'll remind you, too."
no subject
The Null in the other room repeating the exclamation just a beat after it came from Mando.
Bo-Katan actually laughs as Mando struggles under her weight. Oh come now, she doesn't weigh THAT much. She carried you out of the Living Waters all by herself, Mando. Surely you can handle it. When he straightens though she has to wrap her arms around his neck in order not to fall off herself.
Hearing that it reminds him of home though is kind of touching. Sometimes she forgets that he's been here all alone for two years.
"If you like it that much. Why not ask me to say it?"
no subject
Mando chuckles when he hears the Null curse--it didn't learn that from him--and shifts his shoulders a little to more evenly distribute Bo's weight. She really isn't that heavy, but he needs to play up how much she's aggravating him. It'll make her feel good, and it doesn't cost him anything besides a slower dish-washing pace.
"Because it needs to come naturally." You don't just ask someone to spout the Creed at you, Bo, come on! Do you ask Jedi to say that thing about the Force that all the two Jedi Mando has met both said? "It wouldn't be the same if I asked you to say it."
no subject
“Naturally, hm?”
She makes herself comfortable by wrapping her legs around his middle too.
“And my Null repeating it is natural?”
This is the Way.
Bo-Katan rolls her eyes as the Pokémon speaks again.
no subject
Hey, if it's repeating what it's heard, that means it's natural! It's not Mando's fault she got a Null of taste and culture, who is only repeating the best and most choice phrases it's heard.
Mando fishes another treat out of his pocket and, with great difficulty, tries to toss it into the living room for the Null. His efforts are definitely impeded by having Bo on his back, but he's giving it the old Children of the Watch try!
no subject
“You’re spoiling it you know,” she says while resting her head against the back of his neck. “It’s going to keep saying it just to get treats.”
As if to prove her point the Null does just that.
This is the Way.
no subject
Mando shrugs at Bo's comment. It's not his usual big shrug, weighted down by her on his back as he is, but he puts in his best effort. "It's not my fault you adopted an intelligent Null who knows all the right things to say."
Which it then immediately does, and Mando chuckles. "Good dog."
But this time, it's just a verbal affirmation. See, he's not a total sucker!
no subject
"Uh oh," she says in quiet amusement as the Pokemon comes closer. The Null then sits right next to them and stares at Mando with the most serious of serious stares.
Sir. You forgot its treat. It will give you another chance.
This is the Way.
no subject
You know what, it could be worse. Mando sighs, then fishes a treat out of his pocket for the Null. "Good boy. But that isn't going to work every single time."
Spoilers: it will continue to work. Every single time.
