[Ah, a familiar voice! Cecil will turn around to say hello properly in a moment. He just needs to keep twisting that feather... just a little more... maybe a little bit to the left...]

Home sweet home, in a manner of speaking. The egg heads are new and unexpected.

[The lock is very much not cooperating, but he refuses to give up. Not if it means being stuck in this place for who knows how long.]

From my point of view, at least. When I asked Cid's daughter about her... surprising appearance, she threw her fork at me.

[It takes Jotaro a moment to realise Cecil is trying to pick a lock with a feather. He blinks dumbly at the man for a couple of seconds before he shakes his head, deciding he would question that afterwards.]

Oh. This is where you're from. Sorta. [Thank goodness the egg heads are new because he'd have serious questions about this world and Cecil if it wasn't.] Looks like the fossil woman's wormholes need work.

... Where are you trying to break into? Something in there?

[In his defense, the feather is made of metal! Thin, easily broken metal, but nothing's perfect. His inability to get that lock open would hardly change if he had the proper tools, anyway.]

Considering what happened the last time she broke the rules of time and space, I'm hardly surprised. Still, you'd think she could have found a world where I did not have to dodge my mother-in-law.

[Is that why he's crouching? Very possibly.]

This waterway leads directly to the castle, past the majority of the guards. If I can reach my self or my wife from this world, I may be able to request assistance and resources to find our way back.

[Huh! So it is. That's neat. Jotaro figures it's better than his lock-picking method of kick the door down (literally). Jotaro leans against the wall and looks out, standing guard so Cecil can work.

Jotaro knows vaguely about the Hisuian incident but he loses his train of thought quickly. He snorts.]

Sounds to me like mothers-in-law are the one constant in the multiverse. I tried to avoid my ex-wife's mother when I could.

[But, focus Jotaro.]

... Makes sense. Tell me when brute forcing the door is on the table. Else we need to get used to dealing with egg-heads.

She'd be easier to avoid if she was not such a doting grandmother... and if she was not the source of her daughter's own stubbornness. I doubt a different head has changed her temperament.

[A little bit to the left, a little bit down– And then he stops and swears, because the feather's a little too bent and he really, really doesn't want to damage it further.

Where are all the thieves and ninjas he knows, now that he needs them?]

I'd hoped to avoid such a method, which would certainly attract the guards' attention, but frankly with every failed attempt the thought of kicking this door down sounds more tempting.

Sounds like a charming woman. [Jotaro means that genuinely, even if it doesn't completely come across with his tone. He does stand a bit taller though, just in case he needs to be ready to deal with a charging grandma.

Jotaro's not one for stealth or subtleties unfortunately, so he can't take over the lockpicking endeavour.]

I think I can handle guards, even without the Pokemon, so we can bust it down. Or I can cause a distraction so you can blast it in. [Jotaro pauses. Maybe they can be a bit more strategic with things...] Who would have this key anyway? Can we steal it? [Jotaro would mug a guard.]

Borrowing the key [–said in a tone that implies a somewhat violent borrowing–] is an option, but if this world follows the same patterns as mine, every morning the guard who holds it is chosen at random among the dozen who patrol the town. Precisely to make identifying them more difficult.

[Curse his own sensible rules and his decision not to leave keys with an amnesiac foreign warrior who spends his time at the inn's pub.]

What Pokémon do you have with you? If we could cause a distraction from a distance, it might take some time before the damaged door is discovered.

[Oh good! Cecil's not against this sort of thing. That makes things a lot easier for future endeavours. But the information does make Jotaro sigh - Things can't be easy, can they?

Jotaro gets his Pokeballs out and checks.]
My Palafin, Mudsdale, Drednaw, Hisuian Decidueye, Armarouge and... Dracovish.

Star Platinum's the fastest so he can cause havoc and then hurry back but... well... A Dracovish WOULD get a lot of attention.

[Cecil stops. Blinks once. Blinks twice. Abandons his renewed efforts to stare at Jotaro in complete confusion, as he mentally goes through that list again.]

Dracovish?

[Is. Is that actually, for the first time in years, a Pokémon he doesn't know? What is this sorcery?]

[Jotaro pauses, not sure which part Cecil is confused with at first until the man says it out loud. Then, he nods and holds out the Pokeball. With a flippant toss, he releases his ancient abomination. The Dracovish teeters on its unbalanced legs before it jumps up and grins.]

DRAAAAAcccooooooo~

This is Ono, my Dracovish. He was revived from two fossils... by Cara Liss, ironically enough. I'm not surprised that you don't know it. It's supposed to be a rare Pokemon.

[Ono's little fins wave happily as it looks at Cecil. Hi, new friend.]
