That is how we call our version of teleporation back at home. We use it to get from one place to another without having to travel the space between them. You achieve this by focusing on a desired location in your mind and then purposely disappearing from where you were originally to reappear at the location of your choice. It is a more advance skill for us wizards but other species like houseleves and Phoenixes are capable of doing something to it at their own will.

It used to be a popular way to get to places but nobody in my world these days wants to go through it and would stick to other things like brooms instead. Using it is like being forced into a tight rubber tube and you might lose your lunch when you use it for the first time. The last one was what my old headmaster told me some time ago.

... I was gonna say that sounds pretty cool, but on second thought, I'd rather ride a broom too. It sounds like a pretty miserable trip.

[phoenixwiz]

Yeah I could say the same thing too. I would rather stick to flying on a broom than feeling nauseous after apparating to my selected destination.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, we get enough of that here if we use the machines in the Pokemon Center too fast.

[Sometimes he waits longer than he probably needs to between warps, just to hopefully keep it from happening.]

That is why we have to be mindful and careful with the use of the machines between trips. Otherwise, we’ll be all dazed and confused and having headaches for some time.

(He could hear the Pokémon happily chasing after the balls and their energetic chatter as they playfully run around the floor.)

[crystalmaster]

Yeah. We'll sometimes wait a really long time so it hopefully won't happen.

[He chuckles, watching the cute game. The Eevees are calling happily.]

Indeed, it can be troublesome for anybody trying to get to places with them as the only way to reach places.

Having to space out the travel time does help a lot, and I have a feeling that my mentor’s advice on teleporting in my world did in some way help me understand how not to mishandle the machines’ purpose. Even if I didn’t knew how similar they were to each other initially.

It sure is.

That's pretty cool his advice ended up helping with things here. I figured at first there was probably a catch to using the machines, but I didn't know what. We tried to be careful, but we weren't as careful as we needed to be at first.

[phoenixwiz]

Yeah, sometimes being careful with many things aren’t enough to watch out for anything that might get everyone in a tight spot. I just can’t imagine what his reactions to the machines would be like if he were to show up in here.

Confusion? Bemusement? It is really hard to say when it comes to guessing what he could be thinking at times.

[crystalmaster]

[Radley chuckles at the mental images.]

Was he used to tech?

[He's not sure if technology is prevalent in a magical setting.]

Unfortunately like most of the wizards in my world, he may not be used to most technology. Except for possibly radios. Modern technology and magic don’t usually seem to work together often, even my school acts like a big tech disruptor if one tries to bring in, let’s say, a laptop for example.

That must be pretty annoying for anybody wanting to bring in tech, if anybody there wants to.

[phoenixwiz]

Quite so. It would be a big concern for anyone who would have wanted to bring some of the tech from the mundane side of my world at their own choosing. Although in my defence, I wasn’t that big into tech to begin with growing up until I arrived here.

[crystalmaster]

Well, I guess that was a good thing for you then. Did anybody want to bring tech?

[phoenixwiz]

As far as I can remember, none of my schoolmates didn’t planned on bringing tech to school when we all went to the school. Could be due to the upbringing some of them had or they just weren’t interested in taking small phones with them. Maybe it was probably for the best that they didn’t, otherwise things would have been very, um, different.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, it sounds like it was probably better they didn't.

Meanwhile, I'm glad tech is a thing here, even though we're not allowed cars or motorcycles.

That is correct, the technology that this world has to offer have been very handy and easy to use compared to what the mundane part of my world has at the moment. Even though we are stuck with just public transportation and bikes to get around and even they are very rare to find, especially with how those bikes can be.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, I kinda wish we had warp pads back home.

[He nods.]

I'm pretty grateful for the bike. It was a relief to get to Goldenrod and be able to buy one.

[phoenixwiz]

Oh yes. That would be a great life saver for us wizards as well. Maybe someday we could have warp pads too. That way many would have more options to travel to places instead of just using brooms or Apparition.

Come to think of, I might have enough money to get a bike as well, since they have been from the winnings, photo submissions, and part time jobs I have been taking up.

[crystalmaster]

It would sure be useful. Who knows, maybe you can even invent some.

Cool. I definitely recommend checking out the bike prices and seeing if you can get one. The shop's right here in town.

You know what. That does sound like a really great chance to bring some modern connivence to the magical part of my world. They probably need more than they’re publicly letting on.

(Especially when one is a wizard who by now has slowly gotten used to making use of such wonderful Muggle tech the world of Pokémon has to offer.)

Terrific. I should get to that store and see how much a good affordable bike costs in there. Maybe it could help giving some of my rideable Pokémon a break whenever possible.

Oh, I'm sure of it. They'll probably be really grateful.

[He smiles.]

It's a great investment. Evie and the others love going for rides.

["Vee!" says Evie.]

Oh absolutely indeed, Radley. That would be a great way to help out the community after what everyone has went through back home. We’re goin to need a lot of help in order to rebuild from the damages that conflict had left behind.

Thank Merlin that it is going to be more affordable for me this time around. Back then I wouldn’t be able to afford when I was starting out, but now that I’m starting to get some form of financial stability, it is going to be a lot easier to buy one.

[crystalmaster]

"Yeah, I can imagine," Radley says. "It took a long time to rebuild my town back home. Everyone pitched in and came up with cool ideas to make it even better than it was."

He smiles. "Financial stability is an amazing feeling, that's for sure. I was really relieved when I started making a lot of money, both back home and here."

[phoenixwiz]

Wow, that is great that your town is able to rebuild itself through everyone’s efforts. Getting the whole community to contribute in the rebuilding efforts is always a great thing to witness and take part of.

(This is starting to inspire Harry to find ways to help his world to slowly rebuild itself from the ashes of the war. If they were to find a way to get everyone back to their respective worlds and keep their memories and teams, he will have many ideas to suggest for the wizarding community in the UK to consider.)

Same here. All the time I have put into getting part times and working on my photography skills are paying off very well for me in spite of the struggles along the way.
