[text + action]
Who: Loop + You
What: Evolution, psychic Pokemon, the perils of snomstorms!Half of everyone Loop knows in One Single Building!
Where: Goldenrod City
When: Early December for text post; December 14-16 storm for action
Warnings: Nothing specific, just the usual chance of Loop's warnings coming up in threads!
[Text, early December]
I got told about evolution, so I was expecting one of my Pokemon to change shape eventually, but.
Did I just miss hearing the part where they start beaming images into your head?
[Orrery has discovered telepathy! Let's not talk about how long it took Orrery to get Loop to realize it was her.]
[Snomstorm! Goldenrod, between Dec 14th-16th]
[A]
[So it's a good thing Loop went and caught a fire Pokemon recently, because the vending machines at their inn (motel?) are both de-powered and emptied to the last dregs. Loop's had to emerge from the depths of their room to get groceries. And in the fifteen minutes they've been outside, slogging through the snow and trying to find a place that's open despite the power outage...]
[Their Metang has somehow managed to get herself frozen to a fence. Loop is currently trying to coax their new Cyndaquil - who is draped over their bag - to wake up and melt her free.]
[They like naps as much as anyone else, but:] Come on, you've barely been awake for five minutes since yesterday...
[Orrery, meanwhile, is letting out a baffled whirring sound. She's not used to having arms or being so big, and apparently she generates JUST enough heat to slowly melt snow, then get stuck when she touches something colder and it refreezes. Like someone licking a metal pole. But she only has one arm stuck, and surely she can use the other one to lever herself free?]
[- whoops, no, now she has both of them stuck.]
[B]
[Or maybe it's a bit later, and Loop is ducking under the eaves of the Game Corner next to you. Why? To avoid a sudden shower of falling Snoms from the roof! The surprisingly heavy bugs thump into the snow like little icy missiles, whizzing by terrifyingly close.]
[C]
[Or, as the snow has intensified and REALLY started to pile up, you've found yourself completely turned around! (Unless you know exactly where you are, and you're actually looking for someone or something else? Did one of your Pokemon run out into the storm, maybe?)]
[Whatever the reason you're out, it seems like there's a fire flickering in the distance - if you approach, you'll find Loop, shivering and holding their Cyndaquil to their chest. Burnoît, fortunately, seems to have woken up and figured out what Loop wants! The lil guy is flaming a path through the snow.]
[(For once in their life, Loop has returned Orrery to her ball.)]
[Wildcard!]
As usual, happy to figure something else out, just DM or Plurk me!

One of my Pokemon just gives me creepy prophecies.
no subject
Do they come true?

Like there would be a 10% discount at the first store I visited in the next town. Or one of my Pokemon would bring back a shiny rock when he came back to camp. That sort of thing.

What kind of Pokemon are they?

Maybe it's a move they learned?
no subject
She did learn a ton of moves when she evolved.
[There's an extended pause as Loop figures out how to check them again.]
Most of these don't sound right, but she got Confusion... and Miracle Eye? Maybe it's one of those?
[Doppio might be relieved to notice Loop hasn't had an opportunity to name them all with puns yet.]
[...okay, to be fair, they mostly did that because they assumed you were supposed to name skills yourself.]

[action | wildcard]
[And the cold for the past week has been particularly awful. The kind of cold where not only is he not going outside, he's barely leaving his room. Much better to be in bed under a pile of blankets and furry animals unless there's some pressing reason.]
[Like getting something warm from the kitchen!]
[Envy shuffles into the room with a thick blanket wrapped around his shoulders, with a corner of it tugged up in a hood over his head.]
So we've still got the tomato--oh.
[Uh. The other person in here is not one of the usual someones. It's the wizard?? Envy blinks.]
Where'd you come from?
[No whiteboard needed this time!]
no subject
[Loop is seated at the table, gloved hands wrapped around a mug of tea
with schrödinger's sugar. They are... just about as nonplussed to see Envy as vice versa!][They were expecting to see someone besides Scar at some point, this house is very clearly inhabited by more than one person. But when they were guessing who (the person they've been privately thinking of as) the Extremely Tall One might live with, Envy was extremely not someone who came to mind.]
Where'd you come from?
[Loop's next thought: how many people has Scar scooped out of the snow??]
no subject
[Envy does absently wave back at Orrery, noting the evolution in the back of his mind. When you've lived with Pokemon for long enough, this is just part of your behavior now forever. You will wave back at them, no matter your former anime villain status.]
[There's something more pressing taking up more of his attention though, which is: getting indignantly huffy.]
I live here.
[...Loop is definitely not the first person to assume that a normal suburban house isn't this guy's natural habitat.]
[From a chair in the living room, a single yellow ear pokes upright. People in the kitchen? A new people in the kitchen? One very overweight Pikachu oozes out of his napping spot and begins ambling towards the voices and the siren song of potential treats for Guglhopf.]
no subject
[Loop is attempting to re-align their worldview with this idea. It feels like rotating a puzzle piece in circles and failing to get it to click in on any of its sides.]
...I. Came from outside...?
[They glance desperately in the direction of the doorway Scar vanished through earlier, at some point after depositing them here. Scar is still nowhere to be seen.]
[But there is someone else to be seen: namely, Guglhopf Entering The Kitchen.]
[Loop and Orrery give the Pikachu an identical awestruck look, their eyes following him as he trundles closer.]
no subject
[...odd phrasing but welp he's already moving on like that was a completely regular thing to say. The bristling does settle as he notes Loop's frantic looking around for someone else, and the explanation of "outside". Envy glances outside at the horrific weather happening. Grimaces at it.]
You were out there? Eugh.
So, who found you? Unless you climbed through the window.
[There's multiple roommates and several of them are Good People. The wizard doesn't seem like somebody who climbs into the window of a random house and starts making tea in the kitchen but it IS a funny thought.]
[Guglhopf continues his single minded quest, and Envy follows Loop and Orrery's eyes down. And snickers, as the Pikachu goes directly to sit on the floor next to Loop's chair and gaze up at them, sniffing hopefully. Look at him he's very cute and also maybe has never ever had any treats before?]
Guglhopf says you gotta pay the toll for being in the kitchen.

ACTION | WILDCARD: THE CLOWN-CAR DOOR OPENS A CRACK FURTHER...
[It was only a matter of time before a third clown emerged, wraithlike, from the darkness. And emerge she does, striding confidently into the candle-lit kitchen, followed by six-- COUNT THEM, SIX-- big hairy Mightyenas. Their dark coats are heavily-powdered with snow and they're snuffling and panting, freshly let in from a good romp in the backyard.]
All right, all right, settle, I'm getting the kibble and then it's dry-off and night-night to the Box, okay?
[Heather doesn't even notice Loop. Or if she did, it's possible she thought they were Henry-with-a-hat, or one of the other house denizens. It is not until she rummages in one of the low cupboards and turns back around with a GIANT SACK OF POKE-CHOW that she realizes all six of the Mightyena have surrounded Loop and their Pokemon with a cacophony of sniffing, that she realizes there's a guest.]
[Thankfully, she is quick to remember the quirky little theater solicitor, so she pulls the (snow-caked) woolen hat off her head and gives it a shake, shooting them a big grin.]
Eeeey, it's Mister Mistoffelees! I remember you!
[Meanwhile, the Mightyenas crowd in closer. SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF]
IT CONTINUES...
[That voice is... have they heard that voice before? It sounds familiar...]
[It takes Heather actually passing by them before it clicks. Oh, it's dog trainer!]
[OH IT'S DOGS. HELLO DOGS.]
[Loop definitely still smells like slightly-burnt grilled cheese, so the snuffling might be even more vigorous than you'd expect. By the time Heather turns around, Orrery is distracting the Mightyenas by booping snoots with her (new!!) hands. Loop is still Processing All Of This (and trying to picture the size of the box required to fit them all).]
[They start to smile back, by reflex, and then it hits them -]
Wait, do you live here too??
[They do not recognize the reference in the nickname, but they'll appreciate how theatrical it sounds anyway. Just... just give them a moment.]
no subject
I do.
When I'm not out in the storm of the century trying to tire these maniacs out, anyway.
[The 'maniacs' are actually quite well-behaved and polite (at least compared to Cujo), and Orerry is met with a chorus of out-of-sync "hellos" in sniffspeak.]
Didn't realize you were in town. I don't think I ever thanked you for those tickets-- the play was great, but I did have that dentist song stuck in my head for like... two months.
[Realizing that she's still holding this giant sack of dogfood, she plops it down on the counter and starts to dig out a set of color-coded plastic dog-bowls. Which, if Loop happens to notice, match the Mightyenas' collars.]
[They are borderline impossible to tell apart with a glance without them, even to Heather herself.]
no subject
[Hold on, Heather mentioned a boyfriend back then, right?]
[Well. It's none of their business. But also, what are the odds...]
[Okay, that's long enough boggling Loop, pay attention.]
So... time to find you another one for the next two months? [There we go, finally grinning back.]
[Loop eyes the giant sack of food (whoa) and the Whopping Big Dogs - this time actually counting them.] I guess I did get to see your group of six! Are the others around too? Cujo, and... [They trail off, trying to remember. Cujo had his name yelled a lot, so that stuck, but the two smaller ones that Fleuirk was playing with are a blank.]
no subject
Well, this time, you're apparently the one on my turf, so... maybe it's time for you to spend two months with a tune in your head.
[This is said with a hint of playful menace as she tosses the bowls down and finally starts to pour the kibble, which at last causes the ring of sniffers to disperse from Loop and their Pokemon in favor of Crunchy Supper. Once their snouts are all buried in the bowls, Heather rolls up the now much-emptier bag and dusts her hands off.]
Cujo's here too, yeah-- but as you can probably guess, these six kind of require all my brain cells to watch at once even under the best of circumstances, so he's in his Pokeball right now. Chasing after that goober in a blizzard on top of all this would push me over the edge.
I could let him out to say hi once these guys are put away, though-- actually, shoot. [REALITY BEGINS TO SET IN. There is a guest. Who invited them here and why did they leave them alone at the kitchen island?] How long have you been here, anyway? You warm enough?
It's probably comfier in the living room, you know. We have, like... blankets.

ACTION: WILDCARD (yet another clown oozes out of the car)
[The people here aren't exactly... antisocial, per se, but it would be safe to say that they're not... normal-social.]
[So the Sharkhauser that padded quietly into the living room to stand over at the stranger on the couch, the fact that it's late and really hard to see is like... the entire reason that he came out of his room at all.]
[After a moment or two of this, Loop will feel their eyepatch wiggle slightly, and then lift several inches off of their face.]
[And it is from several inches off of their face that it will SNAP back into place if they should happen to, say, open their eyes to see what the hell is happening.]
MORE OF THEM
[All three are worn out enough that not a single one notices anything amiss until Loop is very abruptly yanked awake by a tug on their eyepatch. They're still half asleep, but they flail, alarmed, making a "hwuagh??" sort of sound.]
[Before the eyepatch snaps back into place, Wrath will get to see their eye! It's milky, and while this close up there's a faint scar across the pupil from something sharp... there's no Ouroboros. Nothing particularly fancy or special-looking in general, really.]
[But now Orrery is also Awake. She rises into the air, letting out concerned beeps, and the glow of her eyes illuminates the living room with an eerie red light.]
no subject
[It is not, however, enough to stop Wrath from startling, letting go of the eyepatch, and leaping backwards away from Loop with a low, hoarse growl of alarm. UH OH! BUSTED.]
[He turns to make a speedy escape, only to encounter Orrery at roughly waist-height and trip himself onto the floor with a loud WHUNK.]
no subject
[Loop nearly rolls off the couch in their effort to scramble to an upright position. They manage to end up on their knees instead, with an angry expression, though the effect is somewhat ruined by their legs sinking halfway into the couch.]
[Fortunately for everyone involved, once they catch sight of Wrath they realize that this is a child. It short-circuits their reaction; instead of exploding, they close their eye, press a hand to their chest, and very deliberately force themself to breathe in and out slowly.]
[Okay. Okay, they're fine.]
Don't... don't do that.
If someone's not used to it, they might react badly and hurt you on accident, [says Loop, oblivious to the fact that Wrath's probably fully aware... and has reasons to doubt the "on accident" part.]
[...hang on. Loop squints, trying to pick out Wrath's features in more detail in the dark. Are they imagining a shiny arm and leg?]
[Orrery's concerned beeps, meanwhile, have only intensified. She's not actually hovering over Wrath, but she is nearby, reaching out to gently poke him.]
no subject
[This is ultimately okay, though, because the facts don't lie: Eyepatch Stranger is not an undead fuhrer.]
[Still, Wrath twists around and hunches his shoulders defensively when he realizes he's lost the advantage of a speedy escape... but the stranger is speaking, and not... instantly aggressive. It admittedly takes a moment for Wrath's internal alarm system to remember that he, in fact, the one who lives here, and therefore not necessarily the one who has to explain himself here.]
[He is quiet for a second-- just a shaggy, shadowy gargoyle on the floor staring up at Loop warily... but when he speaks, it's the same voice that mumbled about little Charmander dolls in that alley however-many weeks ago.]
You took that blue cat's hat.
Why?
[He was going for confident and threatening, but the soft gasp and startled twitch he does at Orrery's poke right after probably don't lend themselves much to the facade.]
