You Can Take The Electric Out of the Yayoi... [New Bark Town]

[Peering down at the device, Yayoi checked a couple of things before grinning.] I see a lot of people introducing themselves. I'm new here, I'm Yayoi Kise.

I'm from Rainbow Hills, Japan. Or Nanairogaoka for those people who are nationally Japanese. I've read the guide and done my research and am totally going for an All-Electric Team.

Because this Pokedex is completely filled with so many electric Pokemon, I don't even.

[And there's a Pichu suddenly on her shoulder as Yayoi tickles it under the chin.]

This adorable girl is Pichu, and I'm trying to figure out how to evolve her. Not that she's not adorable the way she is!

[The Pichu giggles as she's fussed over, and the camera shifts to Yayoi's lap as she's got her hands full of Electric Mouse.]

So yeah. I guess hi everyone, and I'll be seeing people around a little more when I get out of New Bark Town.

Excuse you. I might not be able to remember Pokemon past RBY but I can say with mostly 100% certainty you can make a team that'll handle anything.

Where's your anime spirit?

I mean, I guess if there's some kind of electric and water type, you MIGHT be ok... otherwise ground types are going to totally wipe the floor with you.

Spirit goes a long way! But it can't make Thunderbolt hit a Gliscor!

I don't know what kind of Pokemon a Gilscor is, but I'm sure I can find a way. If anything I'm very creative.

A bat or something. But she's ground type, so electric attacks don't do anything.

[Yayoi checks her Pokedex for a moment before asking,] But according to this, it's vulnerable to fighting and steel right?

Fighting? I don't think so. It's flying type too. I mean... I think that's right.

[the boy grabs a book from a pack near him and flips it open. Yes, he HAS made a type chart and written down all the strengths and weaknesses of his pokemon]

No. Just water and ice. And I have thunder fang and fire fang to deal with those. Basically, Carey is unstoppable.

I'll find a way. Type vulnerability doesn't mean 100% immunity.

I'm just saying. I guess if you aren't going to be a serious battler, you don't have to worry about it... But I want to be a gym leader some day, so I have to make sure I can handle anything that's thrown at me!

Does that include dual types, Yayoi-san?

Of course it does. There's just way too many good dual types that I found paging through the Dex.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking Magnemite and Chinchou if I can find them.

Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. When Mareep's wool builds up with static electricity, its size doubles.

Pure electric? I can deal with that. At least it gives me a starting point. I get the feeling I've seen it before... but that might just be me. I've seen a lot of Pokemedia in the last ten years.

Maybe. I only had a PSP, so I missed most of it.

There's something called a Shinx around, too, but I haven't seen it.

I'm just glad for the Virtual Console over the years. Gosh, the VC came out years ago for me.

Ah, that's a Pichu, isn't it? They have a very interesting way of evolving. Apparently they evolve when they feel extremely close to their trainers.

It seems you got a pokemon that is a very good match for you, miss Yayoi.

But then, this place seems to be very good at that.

It does seem like it. I've always been partial to lightning and thunder, so Pichus are right up my alley.

I can't say I have a lot of experience with electric types. My friend has one but he is rather...

Though I suppose voltorbs don't necessarily have edges...
