Third Scoop [Video] + [Text]
[ The feed opens up, and all anyone can see is a Stufful playing clumsily with a plastic ball inside what appears to be a small room. It's cute, like one of those videos of cats or dogs playing with their toys while their adoring owners record it. A female Meowstic appears from the right, curiously looking on as if wanting to play with the other pokemon.
That's when things got messy.
At seeing a potential playmate, the Stufful took that as a sign to tackle the other pokemon playfully. The Meowstic doesn't really like that and struggles beneath the cuteness, almost opening its ears. Uh oh.
The device gets dropped and anyone can see Neo pulling the Stufful off the Meowstic before it could open its ears in defense. ]

Any tips on training a pokemon to respect personal space?

treat them like little kids. explain clearly what they need to do and discipline them if they dont listen

[ She doesn't think this Stufful would take lightly to spankings. Or even feel one. ]

Then I guess I'll have to spend more time with it.

[Seriously, that’s basically what this is by Joker’s standards. Parent or big sibling. Animal trainer? Ah ha ha ha no.]
text
[ Not sure if amused or weirded out by that. ]
text
[Because Joker isn’t sure if it does. Fighty little things.]

With Stufful you've just gotta be firm. And if it's already used to you, or being around others, then I suppose teaching it to not play rough oughta be the next step.
text
Being firm is easy, but we're pretty much loners out here.
Guess letting my Meowstic teach it a lesson in personal space may actually be better.
[ She'd just make sure to be far away when it opens its ears... ]
text
Any reason why you couldn't teach it yourself? You are its trainer, after all.
Anyway I've got a Stufful for my starter, too, so I can understand if handling it is difficult at first. But if you need advice then feel free to ask.
text
Isn't that what I'm doing now?
text
You're right. Anyway, if being firm isn't cutting it then why not try teaching Stufful to read your gestures? That might be easy enough for you two to manage and work with.
Let 'em know when you give it a tap on the head or nose that's a sign to settle down.

Pokemon are a lot like dogs.
Which means they can't be trained and piss on whatever carpets they want.
Or boots. Mine pissed on my husband's boot.

[ Her Houndoom hasn't done anything gross like that... ]

How dare you.
Dog is a good boy. The best boy!

What is it with all these children being rude here! I thought this was supposed to be happy magic land.

No wonder your Pokemon don't listen to you. You're nothing more than a petulant wretch!

[ Looks like she found someone worthy to troll later on! ]

You blighted little
UGH.

worked for my mom's cats when they wouldn't leave her plants alone

[ What would she know about raising unruly pets? At least she knows not to kill it. ]

[Just saying]

I like the sound of that.
[ Way more effective than punishing them. ]

[Mabel...!]

If it can work on Dipper, it can work for Pokemon too!

...Or you can just reward the ones that are already behaving themselves. Maybe your Stufful will learn from them.
