7th Zapfish [Video, Ecruteak City]

[So...while Thida is still terrified of water, while she will never quite get over that fear, today her feed opens up on a scene...relatively close to a lake in Ecruteak City. The tips of her maroon boots crunching on the gravel shore can be seen before she tilts the 'gear up, focusing on a Remoraid bobbing in the water. It sinks back underneath the water when it notices it's being watched, only to resurface a little closer, hesitant. Is that a blush on its cheeks? Can fish blush?]

Got a new friend when stuff was...funny. [Thida crouches down, the view going with her, to get a better look at the Remoraid.] She's Oku. Kept me safe in th'ocean! So we're friends. Um...doin' okay in th'lake, but...never had a fish Pokemon. How d'you take care of 'em? Can't...can't swim, but...wanna make her happy.

I usually keep my water Pokemon in their Pokeballs until I'm near a lake or pond, something like that. Unless they can handle being on land.

[His Magikarp definitely can't so they usually stay in his box or their Pokeballs.]

But y'gotta play with 'em...feed 'em, 'n stuff. Can't stay in th'balls forever.

[Oku the Remoraid swims in a circle to demonstrate. Look at this sweet creature, she should be free as often as possible!]

I know, and I try to keep them out as much as possible. It's just difficult with the fish ones.

[He honestly hates leaving any of his Pokemon in their Pokeballs.

Yet another reason he wants to find someplace to settle down.]

Too bad fish tank backpacks don't exist.

Yeah, no, scratch that idea. Anyway you can plan out traveling along rivers and stuff? Then she can be out and with you.

[Hm...it...would be safe to travel next to rivers...that's usually pretty safe. It's not like Thida makes a habit of falling into bodies of water.]

Think there's rivers t'all the badge places?

There might be. I'd be surprised if there wasn't, honestly. Might be worth looking into on your 'gear!

[There's a pause, and Thida turns her 'gear around to her.] Fish're weird.

[That gets a laugh out of Noct.]

[I mean look at them Noctis look at these fish things why do they need to live in water]

Got lotsa fish back home? We do, but...most's on land. Nobody's stuck in water.

Yeah, I use to go fishing all the time back home. There were all sorts of fish in all sorts of colors and sizes.

[His favorite pastime in the world, okay.]

Wait so, all fish lived on land where you come from?

Some did? Th'smart ones.

[Anything that didn't have the equivalence of human level sentience was eaten or used as power sources lbr]

And the ones that weren't smart?

Y'eat 'em. Or they do other stuff. Like Zapfish...they're batteries, kinda. But y'gotta treat 'em good, they get scared easy.

Fish you can use as batteries. That's kind of neat.

Mhm. Make th'energy anyway, so...better 'n other stuff.

We don't have anything like that back home but I bet it would be a lot more convenient. I mean, they don't really run out of energy do they? Not like an actual battery.

Oh yeah, definitely. I mean, they're doing you a service basically so taking care of them is the least a person could do!

[Thida nods. It only makes sense. You don't just chuck these things into a generator and expect to get any results.]

They're good fish. Very cute. Ever see a 'lectric fish here?

[I mean Pokemon are all so weird she wouldn't be surprised]

Actually, yeah, I have. There's this fish..thing called Chinchou that I know creates electricity! It doesn't really look like a fish until it evolves, though.

[He's read a lot about all the various water Pokemon here.]

Ooh! Whoa! Think they're related?

[Probably not but now she's gotta see one for herself]

No idea, but hey, maybe! Maybe they're some sort of..different universe cousins!

Yeah! Gotta find one now!

[Even if she has to go through the WHOLE ocean, she wants to see one with her own eyes.]

I started reading about all the different water Pokemon the other day and there's some really cool ones! And you can fish for them on the beach and stuff, you don't have to go in the water if that helps any.
