Is SID eating the pawns something that happens regularly?

It's not a daily occurrence or anything like that, but SID has a taste for cruchy things. We've gone through six or so replacement pieces already, and that's over two weeks.

Have you tried to buy any chew toys specifically just for that purpose? Something with the same sort of crunch?

I got this little figurine made from a similar material. It is now the Designated Bedtime Snuggle Target.

Which is very adorable and sweet, mind you, but doesn't fix the chess set issue.

Maybe try a chess set made out of something different? Something that can't be destroyed

I considered spraying it with Repel for a while, but that would be unfair to Bubblegum.

I'm also honestly not sure it would have stopped SID anyway. Even rocks aren't off limits, as far as snacks go.

Huh. Is he the type that would keep chewing at something with determination? Because you could get something that was indestructible. I've seen toys marketed like that.

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a quirk, a reaction to a really painful bout of teething, or even some weird form of pica. An indestructible toy couldn't make it worse, though. Where did you see those?

I'm pretty sure it was at the department store in Goldenrod but I could check the catalog to make sure. They didn't have a ton of them but I remember thinking it might be a good option for my Lycanroc!

Good thing that's not very far from here. Lycanrocs are wolves, right? I can see why an indestructible toy would be a good idea.

Mine likes to chew on rocks so anything else is like butter to her. I got her one of those toys and it's worked pretty well so far.

I think she might be humoring me though...

Yeah she totally is. But hey, she's happy so I'm happy.

What a healthy way to deal with it. Not that you have much choice, I guess, unless you want to live in apprehension of your next pair of destroyed shoes.

Oh that still happens. I have a Larvitar and a Tyrunt that love to destroy everything they can get their hands on. My Lycanroc is the least of my worries.

Are you completely sure those two aren't acting as a distraction from upcoming Lycanroc mischief, though? Teamwork comes surprisingly easily to some Pokémon.

A small but regular dose of paranoia is healthy. Keeps you on your toes.

She's not subtle about it, though, so if you haven't had to fend off assassination attempts yet your Pokémon are unlikely to be that psychotic.
