First Paper Crane [Video/Action]
[Hanna's had a pretty interesting day so far. He met a woman who said she was his mom, which as far as he's concerned, is really fucked up. He got the most precious pokemon friend ever, talked to a professor, and is now wandering route 29. It's in his wandering though, trying to fluff over the fact that he's here, he isn't being held up by gun point, and is instead living a childhood dream, that he realizes something.
Before he'd been so overwhelmed by everything that it hadn't registered, but now? He was just walking, everything was calm, and-] Oh my god this music is everywhere.
[He's talking to the screen because he's not going to complain to his Noibat who probably has way better hearing and thus suffering more than him by far.] What do they have around here? Speakers in the trees? I don't understand where it's coming from, but as far as music goes, it kind of sucks. Like I always imagined having my own life soundtrack, but i've endured only like, what? Three hours of this and it's already stuck in my head. Please tell me it changes every once in a while. Please.
Cause this is like some kind of torture.
Action
After the realization that no, this music doesn't stop, and complaining to everyone about it, Hanna has decided to take a break and open up that lunch his...mom packed. It's nice, obviously made with love and he's just going to stare at it for a little bit, taking it in before grabbing his fork and taking a bite.
He can't say he isn't disappointed when it doesn't taste like what his mom used to make, but there's that same quality of 'i made this for my son' that kind of gets him to chew slower, appreciate it more, and after each bite he kind of sighs and takes a deep breath. For all that he had been pushing aside, trying to keep up the hype of just being here? Well. "Mom's" lunch seems to take the cake over being moments away from being shot any day.
Amelia, who had been flying around looking for food of her own to eat, smart little thing that she was, flutters to a stop on a branch, big ears twitching and turns back towards her over enthusiastic trainer. Something's wrong, obviously, and she'll flutter back, landing right next to his lunch on his knee, squeaking up at him.
"Huh? Naw, it's all good, Amelia," He says, wiping his nose with is sleeve and pushing at his eyes with the heel of his palm, "just got something in my eye."

Sorry, dude, it doesn't turn off. But Cherrygrove sounds different than the road did.
What a guy wouldn't do for some Freddie Mercury around here. I mean, sometimes I can listen to a song for an hour without getting bored of it, but usually it has lyrics. This is just like...really weird, geeky elevator music.
[He's going to pause a moment, considering his options.] Speaking of, how hard is it to catch another pokemon? I figure this real life stuff is much more difficult when it's not turn based...
[Excuse him as he turns around on the hotel bed all his junk is strewn across and carefully picks up the speckled egg to show it off.]
People sell these.
[And don't mind Hanna as he stares at that egg, curious.] Ooooh! Do you know what's inside? I totally want one! [He'd try super hard not to break it anyways.]
[He got to see a Charizard right out of the gate and he NEEDS ONE. Meanwhile, Maurice cradles the egg carefully in the crook of his arm and adjusts his grip on the Poke'Gear.]
It's something called a Houndour--basically the coolest looking dog ever.
Man...I guess you gotta train hard to get the super bad ass ones, but I figure small and lovey is good for the start anyways. I wouldn't trade Amelia for anything. She's super cool.
[But...a dog.] You're going to have a puppy when that thing hatches. Can I play with it when it does? I never had a dog before...I'm kind of jealous!
Sure, I guess. If we cross paths, I'll let you meet him--or her. My starter was anything but small. I'm bummed I cant let 'em out in my hotel room.
How long have you been here?
Oh man, thank you! I love dogs. I just never had the funds for one, you know? Or a pet in general. So this is like, a dream. It's a bummer you can't let it out though...what kind is it?
[And he'll just think for a moment on that, leaning against his tree he had stopped to rest under.] Like...half the day? The first part was a little bit of a blur. I mean, I'm used to weird shit happening, but I kind of thought I was dreaming...that and my magic doesn't work, but...I guess Amelia is my new line of defense. I feel bad about that though...she's so small. I don't want her getting hurt, you know?
[He's going to say that about basically all his Pokemon.]
Oh, woah! You just--you really just got here! I haven't been here very long. Maybe a month. But it still feels like I just got here.
What is Amelia? Can I see her? [All he sees is those ears.]
All the Pokemon I met on my way here are really little. Little bugs and birds and rats. I bet she'll be okay.
[When he's asked though, he'll shift the camera around, his Noibat sniffing the pokegear and smiling for the camera.] This is Amelia Earhart and she is the prettiest lady around.
[The little bat flaps its wings at the praise and positively beams. He hasn't spent a whole day with this thing and he loves it already.] I figure she can take care of herself, but there's still that kind of...real life disconnect you know? Like, dog fighting is wrong, but it's no problem if it's a pokemon.
Nice t'meetcha, Amelia!
[He turns to put the egg back onto its Arcanine-fluff stuffed pillow and reaches for one of the Poke'Balls on his nightstand.]
I did think about that but...you're part of a team. I wouldn't make Cyndi or Meatloaf fight if they didn't want to, but I guess it's a big game for them. Cyndi, come out!
[In a burst of red light, a Sentret with long ears appears and instantly starts chirping excitedly. She crawls up Maurice's arm and onto his head, tail whirling around, nose twitching. SHE KNOWS THERE ARE CHEESE PUFFS SOMEWHERE IN THIS ROOM.]
This is Cyndi Lauper. I met her on the way here. When we battled it was like this...understood thing. LIke a test. I don't know how else to explaib ibb--
[In her attempts to get a better look at things, one of her little paws slips and goes right into Maurice's mouth.]
Pphttt! Pth! Okay Cyndi, that's enough!
[He has to put the 'Gear down to pull her off his head and tuck her under one arm like a football.]
She's a handful!
Wait- Are you naming them after musical artist? [Hanna is guilty of using famous people's names too when playing these name games. He's got a few thought out already.
He was just about to comment more when the little creature appears out of it's pokeball and puts it's foot in Maurice's mouth. He snorts, covering his mouth and tries not to laugh as he stuffs the little thing under his arm.] She looks like fun. I feel like her behavior is how Amelia's ears are. They're always listening, always alert. But man, that thing goes a mile a minute doesn't it?
[Kind of reminds him of himself.]
[Cyndi is still chittering and flailing. She loves this game. She's managed to twist around onto her back and shove her whole head up his sleeve.]
Yeah, the only time I've seen her be still is when she's asleep. Which has been maybe...twice. Ever. I don't know what I'm going to do if she's still this wild when she evolves.
[He can't help but laugh when the little pokemon shoves it's head into his sleeve though, thankful that Amelia isn't that much of a wiggler. She seems to enjoy perching, and surveying all from there. When she's hungry though, heaven help him. She's everywhere at once.]
She's teaching you more patience, I guess. I wonder if you ignored her she'd see it as bad behavior...though I dunno if I'd have the heart to do that. [He's bad about that positive attention negative attention thing. He can't help but give attention.]
[Once he manages to tug Cyndi out of his sleeve he wrestles her into sitting on his lap. She folds her paws over his arm and looks up at him, ears nearly flopped over into her eyes. Hey! She was exploring! Cheep cheep cheep cheep!]
There. Now you have to sit still like Mom used to do us when we were bad in Church. Okay.
[He finally turns his attention back to Hanna.]
Maybe so...oh! Dude, what's your name? I'm Maurice.
[That little Sentret was precious though, he had to admit and he grins as he watches it pout up a storm.] Hanna! Sorry, I got so caught up in everything else. It's exciting, you know?
Living the childhood dream...Anyways, nice to meet you Maurice!
And nice meetin' you too, Hanna.
[There's that sort of involuntary head-tilt he makes every time he hears a name he doesn't expect. At least he knows he can pronounce it.]
Oh, hey, wanna know something great about camping? There's no ants. No ticks! No fleas! You can lay right on the ground!
Wait, there isn't any ants? Though...there are bee pokemon. What happens when your picnic gets attacked by beedril? That doesn't sound very fun. But I guess I don't get to see the stars all that often in the city, so it might be hard getting to sleep tonight, getting to look at them all.
[Maurice takes a moment to navigate away from the video and access his Poke'Dex. He needs to see what one of those looks like. When he returns, he's lost a little color in his face.]
Uh. Accept death, I guess.
[STARS ARE NICE HANNA BUT HE'S WORRIED ABOUT BEES THE SIZE OF A CHILD NOW.]
Maybe if you gave them all your food they'd let you go. Or, I figure you could hear them before they got to you. [Sorry about ruining your good night's sleep, Maurice.] That and you've got your pokemon to help. It's not hopeless.
[While Maurice is distracted worrying about GIANT BEES, Cyndi sees this as her chance to start wiggling again. She manages to squirm down so that only her chin his hooked over Maurice's arm.]
[Even if said bee is like twice the size of said bat, but that's what he'll tell himself.
He's not going to comment on the wiggly Sentret though. Let Maurice figure out his escape artist on his own. He just wants to watch the aftermath and laugh.]
