First Paper Crane [Video/Action]
[Hanna's had a pretty interesting day so far. He met a woman who said she was his mom, which as far as he's concerned, is really fucked up. He got the most precious pokemon friend ever, talked to a professor, and is now wandering route 29. It's in his wandering though, trying to fluff over the fact that he's here, he isn't being held up by gun point, and is instead living a childhood dream, that he realizes something.
Before he'd been so overwhelmed by everything that it hadn't registered, but now? He was just walking, everything was calm, and-] Oh my god this music is everywhere.
[He's talking to the screen because he's not going to complain to his Noibat who probably has way better hearing and thus suffering more than him by far.] What do they have around here? Speakers in the trees? I don't understand where it's coming from, but as far as music goes, it kind of sucks. Like I always imagined having my own life soundtrack, but i've endured only like, what? Three hours of this and it's already stuck in my head. Please tell me it changes every once in a while. Please.
Cause this is like some kind of torture.
Action
After the realization that no, this music doesn't stop, and complaining to everyone about it, Hanna has decided to take a break and open up that lunch his...mom packed. It's nice, obviously made with love and he's just going to stare at it for a little bit, taking it in before grabbing his fork and taking a bite.
He can't say he isn't disappointed when it doesn't taste like what his mom used to make, but there's that same quality of 'i made this for my son' that kind of gets him to chew slower, appreciate it more, and after each bite he kind of sighs and takes a deep breath. For all that he had been pushing aside, trying to keep up the hype of just being here? Well. "Mom's" lunch seems to take the cake over being moments away from being shot any day.
Amelia, who had been flying around looking for food of her own to eat, smart little thing that she was, flutters to a stop on a branch, big ears twitching and turns back towards her over enthusiastic trainer. Something's wrong, obviously, and she'll flutter back, landing right next to his lunch on his knee, squeaking up at him.
"Huh? Naw, it's all good, Amelia," He says, wiping his nose with is sleeve and pushing at his eyes with the heel of his palm, "just got something in my eye."

Sorry, dude, it doesn't turn off. But Cherrygrove sounds different than the road did.
What a guy wouldn't do for some Freddie Mercury around here. I mean, sometimes I can listen to a song for an hour without getting bored of it, but usually it has lyrics. This is just like...really weird, geeky elevator music.

[Said with only the biggest smile ever.]
Sometimes when it gets really, really bad, I try to make up my own words, zura.
That'd be cool...I wonder if there are any that are close to like, rap? I bet I could rap a sick...something if I tried.
[No you can't Hanna, never sing, please.]
Why...why would you wrap a sick animal, zura...?
[He can only assume this sick "something" is an animal. Or, well, considering this place, it'd probably be a Pokemon.
...Actually, now that he thinks about it, he's a little worried about this guy's starter.]

It is different in different locations. It's not born of any speakers or outside source, it's simply a part of this world's fabric.
There are...a number of odd quirks such as that.
Be careful of the ledges.
I heard about the ledges...hopefully it'll blend in sooner or later though or I'm going to have the worst headache. [But enough about that.]
I'm Hanna by the way, nice to meet you!

'chiptunes' sounds like a cool term for this though he's just gonna remember that for later.]

[By her Pokemon she just means one, and by one she means a shadow peeking out from behind her--nearly as tall as she is and grinning menacingly.
This lady either doesn't notice or is specifically ignoring it.]
Anyway, there's much more to be concerned with now that you're here. I should ask before going off on an NPC speech--are you familiar with the concept of Pokemon? Apparently they do exist as a game series in some worlds.
[You have no idea Hanna.] And yeah, I was a bit older when it first came out, but I fucking loved pokemon. I always wanted a growlithe when I was a kid cause we didn't have any pets and that was the closest thing to something real...unless I wanted a persian but those always seemed to be kind of...asshole pokemon. But that might have just been because the only one we really saw was Giovanni's.
Sorry for the delay on this, feel free to ignore it!
[At least he missed the fusion abominations.]
Oh, you're in luck! You can get a Growlithe easily here, I and several other "foreigners" have been designated as breeders, so we can breed Growlithe eggs any time.
You're fine! I went on vacay and then moved so I don't mind!
No you don't understand I'm like queen of delays
[Video]
[Jimmy honestly can't get enough of it.]
Wait, seriously? That's awesome! Do you have your own battle theme?
I sure do, yep! I think you gotta have six badges before you get a theme, but it’s totally worth it. If we ever run into each other, you’ll get to hear it!
[Though maybe Hanna will have one of his own by then.]

I promise you it gets less annoying, though. Eventually you're not even gonna notice it. Like hearing cars on the highway. It just blends in with everything else.
[The city is just great, he loves it, he promises.] Anyways, um...you know I was thinking, and I've met some new people, but do you happen to know how long people usually stay here? I hadn't thought to ask anyone yet.
[This is always a tricky question for Heather. Because she's been here the longest out of virtually anybody, and no one's happier about that than she is.]
[But that sort of news is... distressing to most people.]
It depends.
Most people are only here for awhile. Others stay for years.

[She's just sayin'. That may or may not be an offer.]

Due to past experiences, he believes she's telling more than asking. Never get your hopes up too high, Hanna.] I haven't found one yet besides Amelia. And as much as she's a good partner, she doesn't say much besides her many different meanings of the name "Noibat". At least that's something though!
Maybe I can just be one of those assholes who walks around talking on their phone all the time? Pretend travel buddies.
