First Paper Crane [Video/Action]
[Hanna's had a pretty interesting day so far. He met a woman who said she was his mom, which as far as he's concerned, is really fucked up. He got the most precious pokemon friend ever, talked to a professor, and is now wandering route 29. It's in his wandering though, trying to fluff over the fact that he's here, he isn't being held up by gun point, and is instead living a childhood dream, that he realizes something.
Before he'd been so overwhelmed by everything that it hadn't registered, but now? He was just walking, everything was calm, and-] Oh my god this music is everywhere.
[He's talking to the screen because he's not going to complain to his Noibat who probably has way better hearing and thus suffering more than him by far.] What do they have around here? Speakers in the trees? I don't understand where it's coming from, but as far as music goes, it kind of sucks. Like I always imagined having my own life soundtrack, but i've endured only like, what? Three hours of this and it's already stuck in my head. Please tell me it changes every once in a while. Please.
Cause this is like some kind of torture.
Action
After the realization that no, this music doesn't stop, and complaining to everyone about it, Hanna has decided to take a break and open up that lunch his...mom packed. It's nice, obviously made with love and he's just going to stare at it for a little bit, taking it in before grabbing his fork and taking a bite.
He can't say he isn't disappointed when it doesn't taste like what his mom used to make, but there's that same quality of 'i made this for my son' that kind of gets him to chew slower, appreciate it more, and after each bite he kind of sighs and takes a deep breath. For all that he had been pushing aside, trying to keep up the hype of just being here? Well. "Mom's" lunch seems to take the cake over being moments away from being shot any day.
Amelia, who had been flying around looking for food of her own to eat, smart little thing that she was, flutters to a stop on a branch, big ears twitching and turns back towards her over enthusiastic trainer. Something's wrong, obviously, and she'll flutter back, landing right next to his lunch on his knee, squeaking up at him.
"Huh? Naw, it's all good, Amelia," He says, wiping his nose with is sleeve and pushing at his eyes with the heel of his palm, "just got something in my eye."

[He can't help but laugh when the little pokemon shoves it's head into his sleeve though, thankful that Amelia isn't that much of a wiggler. She seems to enjoy perching, and surveying all from there. When she's hungry though, heaven help him. She's everywhere at once.]
She's teaching you more patience, I guess. I wonder if you ignored her she'd see it as bad behavior...though I dunno if I'd have the heart to do that. [He's bad about that positive attention negative attention thing. He can't help but give attention.]
[Once he manages to tug Cyndi out of his sleeve he wrestles her into sitting on his lap. She folds her paws over his arm and looks up at him, ears nearly flopped over into her eyes. Hey! She was exploring! Cheep cheep cheep cheep!]
There. Now you have to sit still like Mom used to do us when we were bad in Church. Okay.
[He finally turns his attention back to Hanna.]
Maybe so...oh! Dude, what's your name? I'm Maurice.
[That little Sentret was precious though, he had to admit and he grins as he watches it pout up a storm.] Hanna! Sorry, I got so caught up in everything else. It's exciting, you know?
Living the childhood dream...Anyways, nice to meet you Maurice!
And nice meetin' you too, Hanna.
[There's that sort of involuntary head-tilt he makes every time he hears a name he doesn't expect. At least he knows he can pronounce it.]
Oh, hey, wanna know something great about camping? There's no ants. No ticks! No fleas! You can lay right on the ground!
Wait, there isn't any ants? Though...there are bee pokemon. What happens when your picnic gets attacked by beedril? That doesn't sound very fun. But I guess I don't get to see the stars all that often in the city, so it might be hard getting to sleep tonight, getting to look at them all.
[Maurice takes a moment to navigate away from the video and access his Poke'Dex. He needs to see what one of those looks like. When he returns, he's lost a little color in his face.]
Uh. Accept death, I guess.
[STARS ARE NICE HANNA BUT HE'S WORRIED ABOUT BEES THE SIZE OF A CHILD NOW.]
Maybe if you gave them all your food they'd let you go. Or, I figure you could hear them before they got to you. [Sorry about ruining your good night's sleep, Maurice.] That and you've got your pokemon to help. It's not hopeless.
[While Maurice is distracted worrying about GIANT BEES, Cyndi sees this as her chance to start wiggling again. She manages to squirm down so that only her chin his hooked over Maurice's arm.]
[Even if said bee is like twice the size of said bat, but that's what he'll tell himself.
He's not going to comment on the wiggly Sentret though. Let Maurice figure out his escape artist on his own. He just wants to watch the aftermath and laugh.]
I think I'm good, but who do you buy eggs from? And how much do they usually cost? I mean, If they're not ridiculously fragile then I'd totally love one with a cool pokemon inside!
You could always ask around too! Mine was 1500P. Which sounds like a lot, but it's really not.
That's not pocket change, but...oh. Hey, so how do you make money? I mean, I figure you give up money when you battle, but if I wanted to keep stocked on like TP and food, i'm going to run out real quick.
[And, while Hanna is happy about his lack of disgusting torso, he still is a little body shy.] Yeah? Do you, uh...can you keep your shirt on, or is it like, a shirt-off kind of thing?
[He frowns thoughtfully for a minute. It's gone soon enough though.]
Y'know, I don't know! I took mine off, but that's because I had this monster sunburn that needed to be treated. I bet you could ask.
[And he can tell you've been burned Maurice...But he figures it's normal with how people aren't used to traveling like they are here.] You uh...yeah. You're a little pink. I'll probably be getting there myself tomorrow. Yanno, ginger...sunlight. The sun isn't my friend. I'm going to have so many fucking freckles.
[He rubs the bridge of his nose.]
I think they're pretty used to folks workin' a week at a time and passing through. Good luck, dude. Wear a hat if you can find one.
I assume burn heals don't work on people all that well?
No, sorry! They aren't meant for people. It's pretty easy to get patched up in town though.
[He gets up, carrying Cyndi with him and wanders over to his bag. The little Sentret has been wiggling all this time and is nearly free. Soon, Maurice finds a blue tube with some kind of swan-like Pokemon on the lable.]
This is Aqua Ring Plus. It'll save your life.
[He's not saying tampon aloud, but he's thinking it. He'll just make a weird long cylinder shape with his hands and then just put them away. No one needed to see that.]
A-anyways, that stuff. It looks amazing, and I am going to totally get some. You didn't happen to see like, a glass cleaning cloth did you?
There is but...well. I stayed in Newbark for a few days before hitting the road. You just gotta know where to look.
[At Hanna's other question, he shakes his head as he puts his sunblock back into his bag. Cyndi finally hits the floor with a thud and hops over to the bed and starts bouncing.]
No, sorry. But I didn't look.
[He's on the road and seeing new stuff, and that's more exciting than just turning around and back tracking. The newness would wear off and it'd be less fun, he's sure.] Coulda, shoulda, woulda I suppose. It's not going to kill me, so I'll just hold out till then.
[He smiles at the Sentret bouncing in the background, endless energy that it had, and considers getting one himself. Maybe. No guarantee it'd be like that one though.]
She's escaped. Man, some days I'd envy that energy. [Even if he could rival that energy most of the time.]
