victory_road | [Open] Gonna take a..long walk outside today~

[ Just getting into town had been great. And also getting his camera, finally, flown to him by Angel - Prompto still needs to figure out how to repay her. (He knows she said it was simply because she wanted to help. But it felt so weird. Especially since this was a nice mid-range one!)

But, in the daytime, Prompto had decided to take a day for himself. Like, Noctis would allow it, right? Yeah, he was his bro. But he hadn't expected Noctis to be back yet - and let out a yelp once he heard the voice. ]

Noct-- uh! You're back?

[ Yup, he's in the bathroom - the joke is reality. And, of all his Pokemon, it's his Null who's missing.

Guess who decided to try and give his scared Chimera a bath. And also try out some new clothes he brought... ones he wanted to surprise Noctis with later. They're nice and casual, but he found some with nice Drifloon patterns, and also nice and fluffy around the neck. Because it was still a bit cold. But to bathe his Chimera, he'd gone sleeveless. Even if the terrified doggo had splashed him quite a bit. ]

Yeah, sorry I was gone so long. [Curiosity has him going over to the bathroom and nudging the door open to peek in, an eyebrow going up as he chokes back a laugh.] Having fun?

[Things had been a little on the strange side since their discussion at the Dark Cave and it had been bothering Noctis a bit. Which is part of why he'd disappeared that morning.

He had a plan.]

It's alright, Null. Once he's done Bean has some berries she wants to share with you.

No problem! I, uh, was thinking of heading off soon anyway.

[ It wasn't a good or bad awkward - one Prompto didn't want to talk about too much. They'd need to more, but... maybe over dinner. He still owed Noctis a good meal after some of the fish-- Water-types he'd found.

They both had plans. Different ones, but.

Before Prompto could add more, Null let out a loud whine. He wanted some now. This water was weird and so was the stuff Prompto was rubbing into him! (Yes, Prompto was using some extra free shampoo from the hotel room. They'd needed to order extra because have you seen their hair.)

He put a hand to the scared chimera, though, before speaking quietly. ] Find anything cool out there?

[Noctis almost deflates a bit but manages to cover his disappointment with a shrug, leaning against the door frame.]

Alright, if you're sure.

[..That came off a little more pissy than he meant for it to and it shows as he glances down, scowling some.]

...I was..actually going to ask if you--

[Whatever he's about to say is cut off by Null's whining and the prince looks up again, giving the 'mon an apologetic look.]

I promise she'll save you some. [Hopefully.] Nothing much. Helped some people out and got some more money. Outside of that, nothing worth writing home about. We did take a walk by the gym, though.

...I can stay a lil longer. But gotta get a job for a bit, you know?

[ Like usual. He needs to work, maybe he can stop worrying about what happened. Take some cute snaps of Pokemon.

...He was gonna ask him something? Maybe-- maybe it can wait. No need to pressure him. Null lets out another whine, before-- ooh. Prompto begins to rub some of the shampoo into her back, near her tail - that actually feels nice.

And Prompto can just focus on what Noctis said. Working to help people - that sounds like him, of course. ] Really? What's the Gym actually like? I mean, reading about and seeing them is totally different.

I know. I'm going to do some more jobs around town while we're here, too.

[To help out. So it wasn't just Prompto carrying all the weight. There was no reason for the blonde to have to do it all on his own, as much as Noctis did enjoy just lazing around with his Pokemon.

He could practically hear what Ignis and Gladio would have to say about that, though.]

Honestly I wouldn't have even known it was a gym if there hadn't been a sign. It was pretty plain looking as far as buildings go. And there was some weird old man out front that gave me this whole pep talk then told me my Pokemon weren't strong enough yet.

Wow, really? Prince Noctis, man of the people.

[ He's been trying to lighten everything for so long - he was actually glad that Noctis would be helping, a little. Maybe they could even work together like normal best friends!

But he lets out a little pfft. ]

What do weird old men know about our Pokemon. Man, our Pokemon are the top percentage of 'em-- Null, no kicking the walls!

[ A little whine from the Pokemon - not his fault the water was sudden. ]

Give any advice, or was he just like 'you gotta get stronger but we're not telling you how'.

I told you I was going to try and pull my own weight. So I am.

[Because he doesn't want it to be all on Prompto.

Noctis smiles fondly at the antics of Prompto and his pokemon before he's moving over to offer some help, sitting on the edge of the tub.]

Training is all anyone would tell me. It may help us to try and battle more wild pokemon? And I guess we should stop avoiding all the trainers on the paths...

[He had battled some of the trainers they'd run into but for the most part he'd just try to ignore them.]

[ He's glad, honestly. Grinning a little. But then, Null suddenly flops his head dramatically on Noctis. Giving puppy dog eyes - please get him out of this tub. ]

I mean, there's that Sprout Tower at the top of the city? Seems tourist-y but I heard there's a bunch of trainers there - if we wanna train, we could go there. It's where I got this shirt!

[ A pause, and he adds: ] But I mean, we've got the perfect training partners right here.

[The prince can't help but laugh, gently patting Null's neck.]

It'll be over soon, buddy. Don't worry.

[Letting his head rest there, he looks to Prompto again.]

True, we do, but it could be fun to go to the tower together.

[A chance to just try and patch things up?]

...Yeah. Maybe we can try going to the t-top. I mean it's pretty high up but I wanna get some nice shots?

[ He pauses. With Noctis with him, he thinks he can handle it. Looking over the city. Even if he's afraid. Noctis has more to be afraid of. ]

Oh, did I tell you? Angel brought me a camera. [ He's finally finishing up with his dirty Null - grabbing a nearby towel - and tossing it at Noctis. ] Time to start gettin' pics to make Iggy and Gladio jealous.

Wherever you want to go, I'm there.

[He means it, Prompto. He'll climb to the highest point ever if that's what you wanted because it makes you happy. And all he wants is for you to be happy.

Catching the towel that's tossed to him, he starts to gently rub Null's head down.]

Angel? Who's that? [Insert a glance at Prompto here.] Bet you're thrilled to have a proper camera, huh?

She's this really kind girl who's been here a while? I actually don't know what she looks like but she was like 'hey I'll get you for it and you don't even owe me'! How weird is that?

[ He's still very confused that people actually. Are kind like that, as he works on emptying the tub of water - now it's all gross. He really gotta figure out a better way for this. Lucky they have hotel workers to clean for them afterwards. ]

She also had this really cute bird who gave it to me and I wanna get one of my own.

...But how about we set out after Null's all clean? A good boy deserves a good walk, huh?

...Huh. That was really nice of her. [A pause as he plops the towel on Null's head.] People are really just..nice here. There's never any ulterior motive.

[What a place.

Removing the towel and letting it flop to the floor, Noctis stands from his spot on the tub edge, stretching his arms over his head.]

What did it look like? [He's curious. There's so many strange pokemon here.

His arms drop to his sides, hands finding his hips as he smiles and nods.]

Alright, sounds like a plan to me!

Actually-- hold on a sec.

[ And then Prompto gets it out - his new camera. He looks so proud, as he switches to the picture showing mode - and it's a picture of an Oricorio Baile Style. Of course he tried out a pic as soon as he got the camera. ] Look at 'em! But yeah... it's really weird. I gotta pay her back somehow, you know?

[ He'll... find a way. He's not used to this. At all. ]

[ But he smiles, looking at his Null who's now nearly dried off. And then to his own wet shirt. ] Guess I should get changed too... still cold out there, after all.

[Noct's eyebrows go up as he looks at the picture. What a weird looking bird...but it is pretty neat looking at the same time.]

Where can we find them? And we'll figure out something. Maybe try and find out what she likes? Then we can surprise her.

[Because why not. Might as well start doing their part in the whole 'everyone is super nice here' thing.

The prince's lips curve into a grin as he eyes the other's wet shirt.]

Probably. You getting sick isn't something I want to see, Prompto.

I dunno where to find 'em - but I'll be keeping an eye out for things to give her. I'm gonna be sending her copies of most of my pics, at least?

[ because free spam hell yeah - Prompto is slowly realizing he's made a friend tyvm ]

Yeah, yeah. Then maybe I'd sleep as much as you - you sure you don't want that? [ He says, as he leaves the bedroom, just slipping his shirt off in view of Noctis. He's done this before. Just get out another of the shirts he got - another long-sleeved one, of course. (He wasn't removing his gloves. He'd found cute-ass ones with fluff over the wrists. More like mittens, really! But with fingers.

Which he'd put on under proper rubber gloves.) Sounding pleased, Null gave a little lick to Noctis before jumping out of the tub to follow . ]

If she was willing to give you a camera so you could take better pictures, I'm sure she'll love to see all of them.

[Or Prompto was just going to be spamming some more unsuspecting individual that was just trying to do a good deed.

As the blonde leaves the bathroom, Noctis's head tilts a bit, watching him strip his shirt off. Things have been..different, as of late. He'd been feeling it back home and being here, alone, with Prompto had done nothing to chance the way he was feeling even if the other didn't have the same memories as him.

Noctis just..had no idea how to go about having that conversation with Prompto.]

Sleeping isn't terrible..and I haven't been sleeping near as much here!

[Because he's been having a really good time.

Standing up after Null licks him and hops out of the tub, Noctis makes his way over to his bed, ruffling Bean's head fluff once he's there.]

Ready for some training?

[Bean beamed at him with a mouthful of berries, trying to churr happily but it was more of a gurgle.]

[ Really, neither of them knew how to handle that conversation. But without anybody here to judge him - except for Noctis - he'd been... okay with showing his feelings a little more. Not just his feelings, but...

Well, Prompto didn't know words for it. Words he could say out loud, anyway. He wanted to make Noctis happy. T-that's all. But he let out a laugh, slipping on another shirt. ]

Yeah - who knows, maybe you'll begin seeing AM daily?

[ He'd been sleeping and waking up around the same times as Noctis, recently. Well, he'd been taking longer to slip off, but... it was nice. Null lets out a skree-like sound, now next to Prompto - and Prompto turned back around.

Another long-sleeved shirt printed with a flying-type Pokemon. There seemed to be quite a lot of them - most likely because it's Violet City. But at least he's wearing different shirts daily. This world was doing good for both of them. ]

Aaanyway, let's get down to that snow!
