[ The screen comes on to show a Lucario, who is checking that the camera is on. He nods and then sets it down, so it shows Ash lying on the bed of the Violet City inn. For once, isn't his usual upbeat self. He seems...very thoughtful and downbeat. An aura is surrounding him, deep blue and green in colour, which only adds to how solemn Ash appears compared to his usual, sunny self. He says something in Irish to the Lucario, before groaning when he notices the camera is on. ]

Danny, nach bhfuil...Look, I didn't want to make a big deal of it, okay? I'm fine. [ The Lucario shakes it's head and cuffs him. Ash groaned and waved back at him. ]

Fine, fine! We lost a Gym battle. No big deal, it's the first time we tried that shit. [ Danny gave him a look and went to cuff him again. Ash folded his arms, looking up at the ceiling. ]

...and it's St. Paddy's. So I'm a bit homesick. Alright? Cas ar an cheamara as. [ He rolled onto his side, facing away from the screen. Danny sighed and gestured at him, before picking up the camera and shutting it off. ]

I just feel bad cos my Pokemon got hit really hard by those birds. [ Danny punched his shoulder. Ash groaned and sort of flailed an arm at him in response. ]

That is the nature of Pokemon battles. It's why I prefer not to.

Well like, the other battles were fun and it weren't so bad, but this was just a curbstomp. And he wouldn't let me leave after I realised I was way over my head, the dick. [ He wasn't stupid enough to send his butterfly to fight a bunch of way strong birds. But the Gym Leader still tried to force him to send her out. Bastard. ]

The Gym battles are...quite intense. It's battling on a highly competitive level. Considering how easy the local trainers and wild Pokemon in the area are, it's easy to not realize what an increase the Gym is.

Think of it as a learning experience. For you and your team.

Yeah...like, my team love showing off their stuff. And they're not bad Pokemon! I reckon they could kick total ass! But...I dunno. It's my fault. [ Danny cuffs Ash over the back of the head. Stop that! ]

Oh for god's sake, there's no fault to be had. You're hardly the first trainer to not realize how difficult the Gym battles are. As I said, it's a learning experience.

Beating yourself up over it isn't going to do you or your team any good.

...Really? So, most people get kicked in the teeth the first time they try to take on a Gym? [ He honestly thought everyone just knew other than him. That cheers him up a bit and he sits up. He even smiles, his aura brightening. ]

I don't know the mathematical ratios, but plenty of Trainers fail their first gym. Just train further, study the battle you lost...you'll be fine.

Like, he's heard of people called 'Princess' and 'Joy' and stuff like that, but he's pretty sure no-ones been named Lust ever. Unless...He can't hide a slightly uncomfortable look, aura shifting. No, it's not a code name, it's my name. My name is Lust, my brother's name is Envy, someone thought it was a clever joke.

My usual team consists of my starter, a Spheal, my shiny Houndoom, my Glameow, my Jigglypuff, an Eeveelution of some sort - I've over half a dozen of those.

One of my brothers and I bought a house after we'd been here a year or so. Predominantly so we could allow our Pokemon to roam free.

Guttle's the round one. They both perform at the circus here in Goldenrod.

I've honestly no idea where one finds them in the wild. The islands, perhaps. Guttle was my starter and Gilda hatched from a mystery egg.

Aw man. Hey wait, there's a circus? A real circus here? Ur, whereabouts is it? I'd love to check it out!

[ At the mention of their rarity, Ash hummed thoughtfully. Then turned to Danny, giving him a confident smile ] Say Danny, once we got our shit together, you ready to go on a mission to catch a seal or two? [ The Lucario beside him gave a determined nod, grinning. Catch the seal friends!! ]

...ur, my Dad had a thing about seals. So I totally want to get one.

Mmhmm, here in Goldenrod. My brother and I are the trapeze act. Shows on the weekend, special events around holidays. It's quite the production.

You may be able to find a breeder...but I can't recall Spheal eggs being offered by any of the usuals...and Primarina are a rather newly discovered species.
