(terribly belated) April 1st, post-battle
That was wonderful! I must admit that the format you chose for your battles surprised me at first, and I'd lying if I said Rosie and the others are not disappointed, but adapting to a limited selection and moveset was a delightful challenge!

*he doesn't mind admitting that, either, there's no reason to be secretive about it, after all*
Though, I do believe congratulations are in order, aren't they?

[He shakes that thought out of his head. Few people spend as much money as he has on TMs, after all.]
Why, thank you. For both the congratulations and the best battle I've had in years.

*and they sure did put a lot of thought into the battle format before settling on it...*
You're quite welcome. Though of course, if your team is still feeling a bit left out, an unofficial battle sometime is certainly an option...

[Which he understands when battling the Elite teams, but against Falkner or Brock at their weakest...]
Later, perhaps? I'd love to see what you've done with the place. How much time did the building's construction take?

*and not truly competative battlers, as far as Sion's concerned*
Only a few months, actually. Between the machines and equipment in this world and the aid provided by the pokemon, it's remarkable how quickly things can be done.

[He looks up at the ceiling. Such work would have taken years back home...]
Then again, considering the number of Gyms throughout the land, the local architects must be prepared for that sort of great project.

*even seeing a good deal of how it was done, Sion's still impressed*
Though I suppose that would be a factor as well. Especially as pokemon battles always carry the risk of damage should things get out of hand...

That curious part of him is not disappointed.
But he'll just sort of wander over eventually, after everything is finished.]
Ahh, congratulations.
/dusts the thread gently
[One drawn out fight later, and there's still a spring in his step and not a single hair out of place. Isn't that unfair?]
It's obvious you've both put a lot of work into planning this system. I never felt overly advantaged or disadvantaged, even though the team selection was mostly out of my hands.

Glad to hear it. Theory's one thing, but I'm glad it worked out like we hoped in practice.

[And, you know, glad he won and all.]
